@VenusStarr it was £500 for the test.

Currently 4 or 5 dpo and had a cry this evening. I feel so low. How will I ever cope with not having living children.

FirstTimeMama91 · 07/05/2019 22:20

So sorry @Lilimum7 try to be strong. It's so unfair x

TinyPaws · 07/05/2019 21:18

So sorry @Lilimum7. Hope someone is taking care of you. x

fnej01 · 07/05/2019 20:25

So sorry to hear that @lilimum7 Flowers x

VenusStarr · 07/05/2019 20:08

Thank you @InDreamland, we paid privately for dh's SA. It had morphology, motility and count. Think we'll try the tests for me and then review when we see the consultant again. It's useful to know about the fragmentation. How much was the private test?

@Laney79 thank you. How are you feeling?

I'm sorry @Lilimum7, there are no words xx

Lilimum7 · 07/05/2019 20:03

@Laney79 no chance used fmu and backed up with 4 hour hold smu. Plus I'm now spotting and have cramps. So I guess it's all over

Just seen this on the news. Heartbreaking. Life is so unfair Sad couple finally get their rainbow baby but then have to fight and raise £500k to save her.

@Laney79 I don't blame you for going round with headphones. I came escape any baby pregnancy talk, working in HR someone being pregnant and giving birth is mentioned to me a lot. No escaping it being shoved down my throat all the time.

ladybirdleaf · 07/05/2019 18:55

Thanks for the welcome everybody. Sorry I haven't been back for 48 hours, and it seems I've already missed a lot - this thread moves fast!!

I've booked a GP appointment for next week to see if they'll refer for tests yet. If nothing else, I should get my thyroid levels tested again as they haven't been tested for more than six months and I've had a MC in that time.

@mummybearboo we are very close in age (I'm 33) and I also have a 3 year old DD Smile

Laney79 · 07/05/2019 18:41

Oh @Lilimum7 I'm so sorry. Is there any chance the wee was too dilute? Huge hugs.

@InDreamland the royal baby news is really hard. I can't escape it as I work in a radio station! I confess to have been wearing headphones a lot today.

@Frillyfarmer that phone appointment sounds positive-can't remember how old you are? I think trying to be optimistic is good but don't feel bad for trying to find an answer-sometimes considering all the options and educating yourself does help in the long run-at least now you know what to ask if you need to.

@VenusStarr your appointment sounds positive too-good to have a plan xxx

Welcome @MummyBearBoo

Hugs to all. Xxx

@Trying37 @Bluebelltulip ERPC = evacuation of retained products of conception

@VenusStarr it's good that you're getting tests done. Problem we found with NHS SA is that it only looks at motility and count but not the quality of the swimmers. We had to go private for DNA fragmentation and quality which showed up an issue, the issue is strongly linked to MC.

MummyBearBoo · 07/05/2019 17:42

Mind if I join?
i'm 34 with a 3 year old DD
TTC #2 cycle #5
TFMR (incompatible with life) Dec 2017-at 12+1
2 CPs last month and month before.

My whole group of friend now have their 2nd baby we're all due after my little boy should have been born including my SIL who was due the day after that was really hard and my only childless friends have twins due in June!!
I did get BFP this morning I'm 15dpo and I'm not prepared to think I'm pregnant for another week yet coz my last CP was 19 DPO! I also have a 50% chance of having to have another TFMR due to genetic condition I find out from an 11 week CVS if I make it that far. I hate it that I can't just think yay I'm pregnant I always have to wait to week 13 from results of CVS then past the 1% chance if MC from CVS!

VenusStarr · 07/05/2019 16:39

Thanks @InDreamland. I hate not knowing what's going on. It's hard to trust your own body.

Back from the appointment. It was very clinical but they haven't discharged us. He's ordered a laparoscopy and hycosy plus another ultrasound. He's happy with Dh SA, so not redoing that. Follow up appointment will be in a few months. He did recommend the amh blood test but we'd have to pay. We've agreed to ttc in the meantime, have these tests then see where we're up to. If it's looking like we need an intervention or ivf it will be useful to know so we'll get the blood test then but not sure it would help now (and probably make me more anxious). Really hoping we can conceive on our own and it sticks.

Hope everyone is well today. I am avoiding the news.

Bluebelltulip · 07/05/2019 16:24

@Trying37

CD- cycle day.
CP- chemical pregnancy (very early miscarriage).
EPRC- not sure exactly but concerns the medical management of a miscarriage I think.

Trying37 · 07/05/2019 16:08

Hello i have been following the thread but i do not understand what CP CD or ERPC mean please enlighten me

Frillyfarmer · 07/05/2019 14:41

I had a telephone appointment to discuss my miscarriage with another GP today who seemed quite clued up.

She did say that due to my age and having only been trying since November, they won't refer me unless I have a third loss, as at this stage it could just be very bad luck. To continue taking my vitamins, folic acid etc and to start trying again as soon as I feel ready. I have asked for swabs to ensure no infections and she has agreed that's a good idea.

You know, sometimes in the thick of it all, I think I am my own worst enemy. I've spent most of this weekend convincing myself I have hyper fertility, that I have low progesterone or that I may have NK cells. In turn the constant googling and worm holes build some fucking colossal anxiety and I'm in the world's most foul mood.

I'm going to try being optimistic - perhaps this is just bad luck and I need to stop stressing out over the situation a little bit.

InDreamland · 07/05/2019 13:18

@Russkispy how are you today? In my thoughts Flowers

@VenusStarr mc can really mess with cycles timing and can take some time to settle down. If you're worried though mention it to the consultant.

InDreamland · 07/05/2019 13:16

@FrillyFarmer exactly how I feel about the news. I couldn't give a f* where how or when the baby was born. All I see are 2 selfish rich privileged people who announced their pregnancy to their family at a family member's wedding to steal the limelight and then announce to the public on International wave of light day and baby loss awareness week which was the most insensitive thing to do showing they couldn't care less about others. Hope that you can get that GP appointment, you have to really push for what you need for MC care and testing with the NHS, well certainly where I am anyway. It's a constant battle.

@Lilimum7 I'm so sorry, this is just the shittiest thing to happen. Sending you lots of hugs. Hope you can get all the tests and answers from RMC.

@Mistymeow the counselling sessions have finished now. Had the last one beginning of last month. They were good for accepting that it's okay and normal to think and feel how I do but only time will help with the pain of the 2 losses and infertility.

@AliceRR life is totally unfair. Certainly don't get out what I put in. In all honesty I feel like the more you put in the less you get out and the less you put in the more you get. I'm so angry with the universe.

How can I hide from everything in the media baby and pregnancy related and people around me who are pregnant?

VenusStarr · 07/05/2019 12:33

So sorry to hear this @Lilimum7 it is very cruel 💔 sending love xx

Just got to the hospital for my first fertility clinic appointment, feeling really anxious, I didn't sleep well at all. And I think I'm gearing up to ovulate - am cd7 but been getting twinges the last couple of days and had ewcm this morning. I usually get that for a couple of days before I ovulate.

Did that happen to anyone else? This is my first proper cycle after the miscarriage, had one period then this. It would be around 3 days before my usual ovulation day.

AliceRR · 07/05/2019 10:19

Hugs @InDreamland Life can be so unfair sometimes

@Lillimum7 I hope this is not a cp for you. A lighter line doesn’t necessarily mean the worst. Fingers crossed 🤞 for you xx

Lilimum7 · 07/05/2019 08:59

@Mistymeow I've got rmc on 14th so will hopefully get some tests done then.

Mistymeow · 07/05/2019 08:52

@indreamland it’s like pulling a plaster off. I know I can’t avoid my friends and I don’t want to, so I put myself through it in order to heal. Haven’t done the garden yet, the weather is better today so I might force myself! Sorry you still feel so down. Are you continuing with the counselling? Does your dh have another SA?
@lilimum7 this is so stressful, I’m sorry. It’s not a chemical until you start bleeding so I really hope you don’t. Can you call your GP? You need support. Have they done any investigations (sorry if you’ve already answered this)?

Bluebelltulip · 07/05/2019 08:29

@lilimum7 you did not do anything to deserve this, pregnancy loss is not a punishment. Hugs x

Lilimum7 · 07/05/2019 08:27

Tomorrow is going to be really hard its my due date too and now cp to boot. Why is this happening, what did I do to deserve this
