Hi @sophied1983, yes it's definitely a strong positive. You should get the bleeding checked out by a doctor though.

sophied1983 · 20/04/2019 22:07

Assuming this is a positive? Not used these before.

Happy Easter weekend all. I gave up chocolate and booze for Lent... boy am I glad that's over.

Quick q - I had my op on 8th March. Had one (albeit strange) period since. OPKs showed strong positive on Thurs, so DTD and still getting stringy discharge after sex with blood in it (gross, sorry!)... did anyone else find this?

Laney79 · 20/04/2019 21:43

Hey ladies

Sorry for the silence from my end. It’s been quite a week. I’ve ended up having huge amounts of stress due to the nightmare that is the health system. I’ve had the wrong birthday on blood forms, oh’s referral for a sperm test returned by the assessment service saying it has to be In my name, and then to top it off I was told my nhs fertility referal had been cancelled on the system and no reason why...which bearing in mind the deadline I have of starting ivf by 24th July was devastating. Thankfully I chased it up and spoke to a very helpful secretary who has sorted it out for me, and we think we’ve got the sperm test sorted too but they really do not make it easy!! It feels like some kind of endurance test, how much do we really want this and how much s**t can we take before we crack!

As a result of the probs the issue of fertile week and the sperm analysis is no longer an issue! Thanks for asking though @yukka -got My first flashing smiley today so hoping we can give things a good try over the coming days.

Also has another day3 test but done on day 4..my oestradiol is way too high for day three (729 pmol/l this time 798 pmol/l) FSH is higher than it was when I did the first day3 test (8.7 v 4.91) so I’m thinking my hormones are screwed. My oestradiol is three times higher than it should be at that stage of my cycle. I’m a bit worried that maybe that is what’s caused my losses. I’ve Always assumed my progesterone was ok as I had two missed miscarriages and my body wouldn’t let go but now I’m not so sure. My progesterone test (the 21st day test which was 7 days after ov) was 29.4 nmol/l which is borderline to prove ovulation. AF did arrive as expected 7 days after the test. So now worrying that hormones have caused my mc’s and will stop me from catching/having ivf...arghhh

Welcome to the new joiners, sorry you find yourselves here. And sorry not to reply to all -lost track a little with all the stress, and general life stuff. Hugs and baby dust to all.

Oh and lovely to see your news @frillyfarmer fingers crossed for a sticky one! and @Bluebelltulip hope you get a more definitive answer soon
Xxx

strong not string

Yukka · 20/04/2019 20:43

@alicerr glad to hear it’s helping so far, you’re feelings must be very complex right now. I don’t know if you’ve considered it but I started acupuncture last year as something to help sort out my cycles after third loss but it actually helped me emotionally much more than I even thought it could. If not done it before but went in with an open mind and I’m so glad I did. Still going now. Just a thought x

Sorry to see you here @bee222 and sorry for your loss. Don’t lose hope there are lots of positive stories here and a string group of women to help you through the bad days xx

Squiff70 · 20/04/2019 20:18

@AliceRR I'm glad it's going as well as these things can. I understand that your DP has surviving children from another relationship and how hard that must be for you. I really hope the counselling can help x

AliceRR · 20/04/2019 20:06

@Squiff70 It’s ok. It’s good to have someone to talk to. It’s treated as “couples counselling” because we’re seeing the counsellor together. It has helped us to talk about what we both need right now as we are both dealing differently with Ruby’s death. We also have some differences because my DH has children from a previous relationship and it is causing some tension as I’ve just lost my only child and he hasn’t and also meanwhile I’m worrying I’ll never have a living child and I feel alone in that. So it’s difficult for us but I’m hoping the counselling will help. We’ve only had two sessions so far so it is early. We’ve been to a couple of Sands meetings too

Squiff70 · 20/04/2019 17:37

@AliceRR how is the counselling going? DP and I are due to start bereavement counselling soon too.

AliceRR · 20/04/2019 16:09

@Yukka I meant to say as well yes we are having counselling. My employer is really good and is paying for counselling for both of us. My husband’s employer has not been so good and he has left so he had some time to recover and we have some time together (I’m on maternity leave) which is good in a way x

TTC #1
Age 37 (very nearly 38)
MMC diagnosed at 8 weeks and had an ERPC 2 days ago
Feeling pretty hopeless

AliceRR · 20/04/2019 16:06

@Yukka Thank you. I think really we don’t have a choice other than to carry on but I am hopeful and I find ways to keep Ruby part of my life

@moonpeace Yes I hope so. He went once and that was hard as I think he was embarrassed (he v rarely goes to the gp) so hopefully he can do it again!

@InDreamland It’s just dtd I think. Sorry if this is tmi but it’s a foreskin issue and he is worried he might need to be circumcised effectively which is obviously a scary thought for him and I’m worried it’s something that mean we can’t dtd for ages (maybe months?)

I’ve mentioned we haven’t dtd and this was largely because I didn’t feel ready after having the baby and just having a lot on but now this issue of his seems to have got worse... 🙄

So now I’d like to try to dtd to make sure we can but think he needs to see the gp. Last time he was given some kind of topical cream but it seems to be worse.

Squiff70 · 20/04/2019 15:06

Hi ladies. Got a BFN on FRER this morning, 10-11 DPO so that's probably me out this month.

Enjoy the long weekend if you can x

InDreamland · 20/04/2019 11:16

Well AF arrived as soon as I got up this morning bang on time .......Sad so I've done a double gym class this morning and then bought some paté for lunch, treat on sourdough toast. Also started my antibiotics to treat the bacterial infection DH and I both have that apparently according to DH's urologist affects his sperm DNA which is linked to mc's.

@AliceRR sorry to pry and of course you don't have to answer but does his medical issue affect his swimmers too or just ability to DTD at the moment? Hopefully he'll be able to DTD soon. After what you've been through you really (we all) deserve a living baby to bring home and watch grow up.

@Mistymeow thank you. I don't feel resilient at all but nice to hear others think I am.I think as it's your first cycle since ERPC it's likely your hormones are all over the place. It can take a while to settle down.

@Bluebelltulip fx it is a clear BFP next time you test.

Catconfusion · 20/04/2019 10:40

@Mistymeow it could be day 23 so a 16 day LP wouldn't be out of the realms of normal. If it's any consolation my cycle after my two back to back miscarriages is very difficult to understand. Day 33 and no ovulation yet. I think a loss can really mess with hormones. I hope you get answers soon! Xx

Mistymeow · 20/04/2019 10:19

Sorry for the indulgent post but it’s 18dpo and still no af. I had a bfn at 14dpo so don’t really expect a positive now. Do you think FF got my O day right? I only temp to confirm ovulation and stop as soon as I have crosshairs. Is it just my hormones imbalanced as it’s the first cycle since the erpc? I was expecting a long cycle but not a long luteal phase. I feel cramps and some progesterone symptoms but no bleed :(

@bluebelltulip fingers crossed for you, hope you get a nice strong bfp in a few days xx

@alicerr you are so strong, I can’t even begin to perceive full term loss at all. I’ve had a work colleague whose wife had full term stillborn at Christmas and I just admire how well they are coping, and starting to plan for the future with hope. Hopefully you are too? Are you having counselling etc I hope you’re getting all the support you need x

AliceRR · 19/04/2019 22:47

I meant see the gp

AliceRR · 19/04/2019 22:46

@Yukka You are so right about trying to be positive.

I’m still having my down days too @InDreamland. There are other bits going on with DH health wise (minor but that affect us dtd and he doesn’t want to see the go again) and that gives me another reason to worry about never being a mother to a living child

@Bluebelltulip fingers crossed for you 🤞

And everyone else still holding out for a BFP this cycle

Hope everyone has a nice bank hol weekend

Yukka · 19/04/2019 22:16

@moonpeace yes I’m in Aspirin daily and injected heparin daily until 14 weeks. Get decision soon if I’ll go back on heparin for 3rd trimester xx

@InDreamland I'm crossing my fingers for you.

@Yukka That's really kind thank you. I think I'm going to try back away from the internet for the next few weeks so as not to drive myself mad. Glad to hear your pregnancy is progressing well, I agree the ante natal groups are often batshit, but on the flip side I'm still regularly in contact with a lot of ladies from DC1.

@Mistymeow Thank you, hopefully you get to enjoy your holiday and the weather, even if you're still in that shitty limbo time.

I haven't had anything else since this morning and I bled quite a lot with DC1 so I'm ok for now.

Bluebelltulip · 19/04/2019 11:45

Feeling very confused today. Last cycle I had a 'normal' period after 23 days (normal prior to DD2 was 26 days). Now on cd10, was sick this morning and did a test to rule it out as we are visiting family this weekend (very much looking forward to a working bathroom). It came up with a feint but definitely there positive! Will test again in a few days, I'm so confused and don't feel I trust it yet.

Mistymeow · 19/04/2019 10:41

@yukka great advice, thanks for sharing. So glad everything is progressing well for you.
@indreamland well done for holding out. The idea of having a bfp after dealing with miscarriage and infertility is so hard, but you are doing amazingly well. Many women would have given up by now. You are far more resilient than you think you are :)
@frillyfarmer thanks, i do have a frer with me (I’m on holiday) but I just don’t think it’s going to be positive and my body is confused. Sorry to hear you have brown spotting, it’s always a bit scary even though it could well be nothing. It could well be some breakthrough bleeding which I had with both my pregnancies (and wasn’t connected to my miscarriages). I hope it stops soon and it’s just your uterus having a clear out for the little one.
