Aww congratulations @PeacockingAbout xx

I've not been here for a while, AF was the worst it's been in years so that sucked 😖. Currently CD9 and heading into FW I guess. Not sure whether to use OPKs this cycle or not. I would start using them tomorrow but I just can't decide😩. I kind of want to use them because I'm a bit of a control freak but then I kind of want to take a more relaxed approach this time too. We're not doing SMEP this month but every other day instead and using pre seed instead of conceive plus to see whether that makes a difference as well.

Sorry for the essay ladies, need to catch up as best I can but I hope you're all doing well x

AysLon · 28/03/2019 11:38

@SunStruck My fi4st period post-pill was 52 days after coming off, then the subsequent ones have been around the 31 day mark. This is my 2nd cycle trying. How do you check your temperature? If I get to cycle 3 (probably will) I am going to start doing that. I'm worried I will miss the O.

SunStruck · 28/03/2019 11:32

@AysLon

I am also on cycle 2 and came off the pill in October last year. My period never went back to normal though (had 2 very far apart, over 2 months after I stopped the pill), and end of Jan I went to an OBGYN who gave me some hormone pills to regulate the period.

So this is my second cycle trying, charting temp as well as using OPK tests. Fingers crossed for us!

Did you go back to normal periods very quickly?

AysLon · 28/03/2019 11:28

@starkid I am cycle 2. Cycle 1 was 32 days, seems a bit long to me. Was using the Flo app bit wasn't sure how accurate the Ovulation predictor was. This cycle is the first using CB OPKs. It's so much more stressful than I thought it would be but I know it's early days for me, only cycle 2. I've been off the pill since October 2018.

starkid · 28/03/2019 11:23

@PeacockingAbout - Aww congratulations!! :) xx

@AysLon - welcome to the thread! what cycle are you on?

cupcakesandglitter · 28/03/2019 10:20

@FlapJackered I'm with you - hardest year of my life 😩 waaaaay more stressful than I anticipated!!

@KatBeCool thankyou, I have no idea what's given me this positive vibe this cycle 😂 I've kept my OPKs in the bathroom but I've put them under all of the towels; that way I know they're there but I always run to the loo and forget about them until after I've already peed 😂😂 I haven't had much luck with OPKs though so I guess I can kind of live without using them until next cycle how are you? X

FlapJackered · 28/03/2019 10:17

Welcome @AysLon 😄 they are very addictive!

AysLon · 28/03/2019 10:12

Hi everyone, newbie here. TCC 31. Cycle day 13. Did a CBO test and was Low. Will check again tomorrow morning. I feel like I am going to get a bit addicted to these threads Grin

thumper59 · 28/03/2019 10:12

@PeacockingAbout congratulations! So pleased for you 💕

Also got my fingers toes and eyes crossed for all you other lovely ladies, I love checking in on this thread and seeing how you are all getting on 😊 xx

KatBeCool · 28/03/2019 10:10

@PeacockingAbout congratulations again! So nice to see it in words not just a line.

@dobzyj welcome. I am not sure that doing a blood test "exactly 7 days before your period" is a correct interpretation. There's such thing as "day 21 tests" that are given with a math of 28 day cycle and supposed ovulation on day 14, which puts you at 7 days after ovulation, and 7 days after ovulation is the day you test, not counting backwards from your period.
You may also have you hormones mixed up a bit. The fact that you don't get a LH surge isn't due to low progesterone. LH is luteinizing hormones, it and oestrogen are what's in charge of the surge. Progesterone rises after the ovulation and that's what rises your temperatures as well. There are people who never get the lh surge and still get pregnant so temping is helpful in this case. As @FlapJackered said, your hormones might still be straightening themselves out.

@Jooloo11 it is possible that you ovulated a bit later after the positive OPK than normal. The most important thing is to DTD 😁. So if you did even accounting for later ovulation, you got it covered.

@cupcakesandglitter good to see you feeling more relaxed and actually being able to do it. I tried no opks, that so didn't work as my brain demanded knowing what happens and when to calm down. I can't take not knowing when there are easy tools available to aid.

orangeloo · 28/03/2019 09:40

@PeacockingAbout thank you and yaaay Smilemassive congratulations on your BFP!! I really hope I and all of us get to join you on grad thread soon! Wishing you happy and healthy 9 months! x

FlapJackered · 28/03/2019 09:33

@PeacockingAbout wahh!! Congratulations!!🎉🎉 i was keeping everything crossed for you! Yes please keep us updated! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months xx

@SunnyL88 it's so hard! It has been the most mentally draining experience of my life so far. I was so oblivious to it before.

cupcakesandglitter · 28/03/2019 09:15

Thanks @SunnyL88 ❤️ TTC is hard 100% - it's so crazy how we're bought up being taught about making sure you use protection because all it takes is that one time. I joined Mumsnet before I was TTC so I learned very quickly that it wasn't that easy, but bloody hell I didn't realise how emotionally draining it is!! Stay positive, it'll help somewhat xx

BabyO1988 · 28/03/2019 09:12

@SunnyL88 I'm about 5-6 dpo based on my positive opks. Woke up this morning after another 10 hours sleep and my neck aches and I've got lower back pain too. (Probably from too much sleep 😂) I'm starting so symptom spot now and still ages until I can test. Af isn't due until the 5th x

SunnyL88 · 28/03/2019 09:06

@PeacockingAbout fabulous news to start the day!! Congratulations xxx

Fingers crossed for you @cupcakesandglitter - really hope you get yours, it will give me hope 🤞🏻

@BabyO1988 - are you in the 2ww? I do feel this is a lucky thread!

Thank you @thosethreewords - I need to be otherwise I’d be really down :-( it’s hard this trc lark, more so than I anticipated x

thosethreewords · 28/03/2019 08:59

@PeacockingAbout yes!!! Ohhh congratulations!!! Really hope to join you on the grad thread soon. Take care 💕

cupcakesandglitter · 28/03/2019 08:56

Sorry af arrived @SunnyL88 xx

@PeacockingAbout I knew it!!! Congrats ❤️ I have zero idea when I'm testing, I'm still too chilled about it 😂😂 xx

Lottiepink · 28/03/2019 08:49

@Jooloo11 hi 😊
I also temp and normally get a rise within a day or 2, but a couple of cycles ago it took quite a few days for my temp to rise, I goggled it and it said that it can happen, I think it took like 4/5 days... how that helps 😊

Jessikka · 28/03/2019 08:47

@Jooloo11 the OPKs show a few days before ovulation for most women. Some ovulate same day and some up to 36 hours later - I would go by the temp rises as that's what confirms it actually happened.

:)

Jooloo11 · 28/03/2019 08:39

I also love to see BFPs so congratulations @PeacockingAbout!!

Jooloo11 · 28/03/2019 08:35

Quick question for all you clever ladies who understand temping.... This is my first month temping. I had a clear positive IC opk on Friday night, then the clearblue peak smiley on Saturday morning, so I assumed that I ovulated on Sunday. But today (Thursday) was the first day that I had a temp rise.

So .. is it more likely that I ovulated a few days after the positive opks, or more likely that it just took that long after ovulation for my temp to rise??

It's all very complicated!! Before TTC I literally had no idea this stuff even existed. Thought it was a case of DTD once or twice whenever, job done. So naive!

BabyO1988 · 28/03/2019 08:31

Congrats @PeacockingAbout! Lovely to see your BFP!
What symptoms did you have over your tww? Feel like I'm starting to think about it all too much and wondering whether every little thing means something x

Lottiepink · 28/03/2019 08:30

@PeacockingAbout congratulations to you 👏🏽😊

Jessikka · 28/03/2019 08:30

Congratulations @PeacockingAbout how lovely!!! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy 💕

PeacockingAbout · 28/03/2019 08:22

Well, that's my BFP, no denying that. Thank you all for your amazing support! Hope to see you all on the grads thread soon. I will be lurking to see your BFPs!

@cupcakesandglitter good luck, do you know when you might test or are you keeping it chill still? You have remained remarkably chill this month!

@starkid glad you're feeling a bit better! Netflix can come up with some absolute bangers. For stats, I've rolled off at 29, cycle 4 x

@SunnyL88 really sorry that AF has arrived, take care of yourself x

@BabyO1988 that sounds promising, good luck!

@thosethreewords thank you! I have never been able to get away with telling people j didn't want them, I've been a brood-monster forever! I came off hormonal BC 7 years ago as we were always 'about to be trying', just taken this long to manage it.

@Pinkfizz19 how are you doing? How's the trip?

Welcome @dobzyj, hope you get some answers soon, but great your doc is supportive!
