Hi!

Didn't manage to conceive last month so now it's time to try for a December baby! Anyone else want to join? On CD 4 so I'm feeling positive about a new start! I'm ttc no3.

@scarletrose18 yes it starts to get so disheartening, I really try to keep myself distracted but it’s just so difficult. I’ve booked a holiday for end of April now so I’m looking forward to that and trying to keep my mind off it hoping it will happen very soon. x

deathbycats · 15/03/2019 19:47

Thanks ScarletRose Smile It's so fraught isn't it!

Scarletrose18 · 15/03/2019 19:36

@deathbycats Yes it is normal, I get ewcm for about a week around fertile time... I had to do so much googling to check if that was normal and Its very confusing for knowing when you are actually close to ovulation, but I think its a good sign for you 🙂

@mrs71 hi 👋🏻 Its tough when it takes longer than expected. Im on cycle 4 so I cant complain too much but feel like it gets a little more disheartening every cycle when you keep getting a bfn. Baby dust for this cycle 😊

Mrs71 · 15/03/2019 18:50

Hi 👋, do you mind if I join?

I’m CD 7 today and I’m feeling really lonely need some ttc buddies as I haven’t told anyone we’re trying. Ttc my 1st baby age 30, this will be my 7th cycle I was on a lovey thread before and every single lady got a BFP within cycle 4!

ChloePD · 15/03/2019 18:36

@Starfish83 apparently they don't have to be progressive lines so keep testing and don't feel disheartened if they don't get darker by the day; it could just jump to positive. Keeping all my FX for you that it happens soon, it's so frustrating when it takes ages!

mrsawhite · 15/03/2019 18:21

Anyone else a week off their fertile period?

deathbycats · 15/03/2019 17:52

CD10 today - negative OPK but EWCM?! Cervix is high and softer than it had been too. I should be at least 4-7 days away from Ovulation - is it usual to get EWCM before the event??

Scarletrose18 · 15/03/2019 14:56

@chloepd Happy days, thats a good strong positive on your strip. Hope you catch that egg!

@starfish83 That looks like a positive is building, hopefully not long now 🙂

@blondie How are your opks coming along?

It has been quite tiring dtd every day since Sunday. So if we aren't successful this month I think I will go back to the opk's next month.

Sending baby dust to everyone! 💖💖

Starfish83 · 15/03/2019 14:22

Chloe, hooray for your positive OPK! 🙌🏼 And thank you.?💐 I’m using normal OPKs sporadically - have just done one (am attaching pic). Obviously, it isn’t positive but there is a line so I’m hoping that I’m on the way to a positive!? x

December bus!
ChloePD · 15/03/2019 11:35

@Starfish83 keep positive, I got mine this morning. It's my second cycle using them and last cycle I did it for 14 days and then gave up, apparently they need to get used to your cycles. Are you using normal OPKS too?

Starfish83 · 15/03/2019 07:40

Morning, how is everyone doing today? Another flashing smiley for me this morning - day 4 of them. x

Starfish83 · 14/03/2019 14:29

Hi deathbycats, I’m using the CB digital ov. test (the one with dual hormone indicator). The instructions say that, for reliable results, you must test after your longest sleep until you get flashing smiley (high fertility) and then you can test more often. I’m tempted to test again later this afternoon but those sticks are expensive! I know what you mean about symptom spotting. Hope that you and your DH can find some time next week. I think there’s a considerable amount of pressure on DH’s to perform - I’m not sure how explicit I should be with my DH re. ovulating...to be honest, we’re only just getting our sex life back (tmi? 😬) as we’ve been too exhausted looking after our toddler through the night up ‘til now! 😂 x

deathbycats · 14/03/2019 09:50

Interesting that you OPK in the morning - is that with the CB monitor? I'm resisting the urge to do one just now while DD is at nursery. My CM has gone watery and cervix is getting harder to reach which seems positive, but this morning when I lifted DS's mattress, I felt a weird gush and had a little bit of pink blood. Which is weird. But now I'm in mega symptom spotting mode, and I'm getting a bit paranoid that I'll ov early and we'll miss it. We DTD last night but DH was too tired and couldn't finish, so I've been pinning my hopes on getting to try during the day on his days off next week when the kids are at school/nursery.

Starfish83 · 14/03/2019 08:39

Thanks for the welcome, Blondie and Chloe. 😊

Have OPK’d this morning and it’s another flashing smiley day for me.

Hope everyone’s doing OK and has a good day! x

ChloePD · 13/03/2019 19:36

Hi @Starfish83 :) the flashy smileys mean that your Estrogen levels are getting higher in preparation for ovulation, apparently the majority of woman only see this between 0-4 days before they get a static smiley (ovulation!). I'm also on my second day of flashing smileys so keeping fx for both of us!

Blondie87 · 13/03/2019 19:30

Welcome to the December bus. I hope this is a good month!

I'm not sure about the flashing smiley I'm afraid but does it mean ovulation is approaching?

Thanks Scarlet I'll look into those.

Hi everyone! 👋🏼 May I join please? TTC DC no.2 and would love a December baby! 😊 Not sure what my cycle’s up to at the moment - am keeping an eye on CM and have just started using Clearblue OPKs. Had a flashing smiley yesterday and today... (does that mean it’s my fertile window?). Conceived DD the first month of trying and am trying to be realistic as I know it can take time - however, am already totally obsessed! 😬😂 x

deathbycats · 13/03/2019 16:02

OPKing from cd6 like the lunatic I am 😂. On the upside my cervix seems to be moving up and going from sticky to wetter.

(too late for a TMI alert, apologies!)

mrsawhite · 13/03/2019 08:13

Hello all

Cycle no 3 for us. TTC #1. CD6

Trying to not be obsessed with it all. (We are a bit) But must admit it was very disappointing last week when AF appeared.

But. Onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed for festive babies!

Scarletrose18 · 11/03/2019 21:56

@blondie87 Have you tried any vitamins or anything to regulate your cycles? I know b6 and omega are both meant to help. Im sure its anoying not knowing what to expect each month

Coastaldreamer · 11/03/2019 21:29

@Blondie87 definitely makes it tricky! I always just disregarded my cycles right until we decided to start ttc this year!

Yeah I thought as much, this news about dtd will make DH happy 😂 at least

X

Blondie87 · 11/03/2019 20:58

Welcome coast! A December baby would be lovely!

Yes it definitely makes things trickier with irregular cycles. I had a 27 day cycle last month which is the shortest I've ever had and ovulated much earlier but used OPKs for the first time so it was better for identifying ov. I've read that as long as you have regular sex i.e. three times a week, then that should be sufficient. I'd say from CD10 onwards to about CD22 should cover the fertile window for cycles like ours.

Coastaldreamer · 11/03/2019 20:43

Late joiner...! 🙋🏽‍♀️

Am 31 and me and DH TTC #1, cycle 2, CD5.

@Blondie87 not sure if anyone replied but my cycles are similar, 28-36 days. This one was 30 days so hoping the TWW won't be so long this month!

Bit inexperienced so if I can't really pinpoint my ovulation due to cycle length shall we just start dtd few days after my AF finishes and keep going every other day till a week or so before next AF due?

Thanks and good luck you all, a December baby would be awesome 👏🏽

Explorers10 · 11/03/2019 17:39

@babyo1988 this is what happened to me last month I kept getting flashing smiley faces for 5 days straight and I ran out of the opks. Never did get a peak and then was stressful as I didn’t know when I ovulated. Didn’t bother buying another test packet to continue to see if I did get a peak

Scarletrose18 · 11/03/2019 17:15

@deathbycats You defo have no excuse then. Lol. But im sure dtd with 2 dc isnt easy either. My dh works late at times so I know the feeling. Im pretty sure its dtd before ov that counts most because then the little swimmers are already there waiting for egg, so even if you ov the next day, you still have a great chance!

@babyO1988 I normally use the IC as then you can take 2 or 3 a day to be sure (plus I will admit its a little addictive watching the second line darken 😊) But if your getting a flashing face that means your in your fertile time doesnt it, so I bet you will get a static face any day now.

Im not taking Opk's this month so I wont know when I ovulated for sure, I found last month so stressful so trying the more chilled approach this cycle, although it means alot more dtd .
