Decided to set up a thread for ladies due to ovulate some time around the 22nd March. If you're due to OV around this time, come on in!

I find these easier to follow than the big month-long threads.

Thought we could all test at similar times, discuss our crazy symptom spotting, and all the other "fun" around TTC.

You're doubly welcome if you're a POaS addict like me Grin

About me:
33
This will be cycle 5 after TFMR last year.

TTC our first

I've tried conceive plus, preseed, all manner of ovulation kits, etc.

This month I'm going to focus on losing half a stone. I've put a lot of weight on since my TFMR. I think i could be disadvantaging myself. I'm also going to cut down on caffeine throughout the who cycle.

I've also bought the Harvard medical school Fertility Diet book, all backed up with science so I'll let you all know how I get on with it.

Here's a summary if anybody interested: www.urmc.rochester.edu/medialibraries/urmcmedia/fertility-center/education/documents/fertility-diet.pdf

The flo app is really confusing me. I usually have 31 day cycles but last month had a 27 day cycle randomly. When I changed the ovulation date on the app based on pains and symptoms (all though this could still be wrong) it added an extra few days to when my next period would be due? Even if I had a 27 day cycle I would have had 11 days before my next period but now I have 16 days making it a 32 day cycle but not sure why this would happen?

Kinsella82 · 19/04/2019 18:30

Thanks a million. It's reassuring to hear that (even though deep down I know that - you go into denial or something!)
This is fourth cycle so hopefully and if not there's always next month!
Hope everything goes great for you xx

EmeraldRubyShark · 19/04/2019 17:25

Apparently even if you do target the ovulation day’s it’s still only a small, maybe 20% chance you’ll get pregnant anyway! Some studies suggest maybe up to 38%. But still that’s only one month in three or five you’ll have a chance of conception. And that includes chemical pregnancies as it studied women who were very knowingly trying and therefore testing ASAP, so the egg may not even implant. So even though it feels like you’re doing everything correct, which you are, it’s still perfectly healthy for it to be taking a few cycles! Up to a year is apparently normal for healthy couples which is mind blowingly scary I think.

Wishing you so much luck!

Kinsella82 · 19/04/2019 14:43

@EmeraldRubyShark that's what has me worried. This is our fourth cycle and particularly last month but we've been dtd every second day and lots around Ov every month. Extra effort last month and still nothing so I'm hoping it works this time

EmeraldRubyShark · 19/04/2019 12:39

Good luck Kinsella! I only used the cheap strips from Amazon but i’m convinced they were a huge part of falling pregnant the first cycle, third week of trying. I was just so pleased my body was at least trying to ovulate and working properly! As soon as we got positive we just did it every day for three days on the trot. We aimed for every 2-3 days during the month anyway but with busy lives it was a relief to know we were targeting most of the sex exactly where we needed it.

Kinsella82 · 19/04/2019 10:02

Just got my first flashing smiley!!! On cycle day 13 and I'm not ridiculously excited! Such a difference to using the IC last months, so much clearer and easier to tell what's going on!
Hope everyone is doing ok x

EmeraldRubyShark · 16/04/2019 19:47

Thanks guys! Only been 48hrs since I found out and omg time is dragging by sooooo slowly 😭

Kinsella82 · 16/04/2019 18:39

@20TinkerBell20 I would do it every second day and then day before, day of and day after O. Let us know if there's a new thread x

@EmeraldRubyShark congrats to you! Great news!

I've just received my clear blue opk from amazon today so I'll be starting them tomorrow at CD 11. Did a cheapie today and yesterday and nothing so hopefully the clear blue will help me pinpoint exactly. Meantime I'm going to dtd as above until I know otherwise!

lori2019 · 15/04/2019 12:13

Congratulations @EmeraldRubyShark

Hope all goes well at your scan

Hello all!

Been reading this thread as I was due to ovulate around this time, I’ve been using an app to track my periods and OPKs. I ended up ovulating on March 28th. It’s our first cycle trying for our first baby, I’m 31 and my OH is 27. We’ve been worried about our chances as I have endo and during a recent operation it was discovered only one Fallopian tube is working as the other is irreparably blocked with scar tissue.

Anyway we timed sex, aimed for every other day overall but also the day before, of and after ovulation and yesterday, the day my period was due, I got a BFP! On two tests. I’m in shock, I assumed it’d take absolutely forever due to being subfertile. We’ve been using pre seed too.

so that’s where I’m at now, only 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant technically. Being booked in for an early scan as I’m high risk for ectopic. I know anything can happen at this stage, it’s just cells right now and I’m trying very hard not to get my hopes up, but I’m just so delighted to know my body is at least capable of conceiving, that’s such a good sign and I really thought it wouldn’t happen for us. Even if this doesn’t end up with a baby I feel one step closer. And I’ll wait and see how things progress.

No symptoms yet obviously. I kinda had a really strong inkling I might be pregnant as my OPKs were showing up glaringly positive in the few days leading up to and during the expected period date, which I know can be a sign. Weirdly the second week after ovulating I felt incredibly sick all day for about five or six days, I’ve never had that before but it definitely wasn’t in my mind, though I doubt it was related to conceiving.

I just wanted to share as I’m so excited but obviously haven’t told anyone yet other than my boss for appointments, OH as he was there when we did the test and one best friend so I have someone to talk to about it (and I’d want to lean on them if I miscarried anyway).

Mind blown to have been a ‘unicorn’! I was so so proud of my body for even ovulating as I didn’t think it would. So let’s see now. I swear I’m not assuming I’ll end up with a lovely baby in nine months. I’m just pleased to be in the running if that makes sense. Does anyone else feel like that?

Michellebops · 15/04/2019 11:27

I'd be dtd every 2 days from today

20TinkerBell20 · 15/04/2019 11:18

For those still checking this thread (I haven’t started a new one yet) but just wondering......
App says I’m due to OV on sat 20th, what would
You say would be the best days to dtd?

lori2019 · 11/04/2019 11:04

20TinkerBell20 · 11/04/2019 10:40

For those of you who like me also got a bfn this month - anyone starting a new thread for this month?

Coastaldreamer · 11/04/2019 09:17

Hope everything progresses well @WildFlower2019 and hopefully I'll be joining you on some pregnancy threads in the near future xx

WildFlower2019 · 10/04/2019 22:24

Yes it did. Good luck xx

Paddypaws91 · 10/04/2019 20:29

@WildFlower2019 did it just feel like normal AF symptoms for you then? 🤔

I am feeling a little nauseous today and headachy, but I'm putting everything down to PMS. Can't face the disappointment of POAS 🙈

WildFlower2019 · 10/04/2019 19:57

Yeah but I had that cramping and pressure for days before my BFP so don't rule anything out just now!

OP posts:
Paddypaws91 · 10/04/2019 18:40

Thanks @WildFlower2019 AF is still a no show 🤔 having that pressure, almost crampy feeling, so will probably be here soon (boo). Hope you're getting on alright!

WildFlower2019 · 10/04/2019 17:25

Good luck @Paddypaws91 x
