Hi guys

I’m really new to this and nervous about posting my own thread so please forgive me if I’ve posted in the wrong place!

I came off the pill (cerelle) 41 days ago - 16th January and since then haven’t had AF or withdrawal bleed.

I feel sick every single morning, cramps constantly for a month since coming off, mood swings and worst of all bloated ALL THE TIME and put on over a stone since stopping the pill! (I really don’t have room to do that!)!

Took a preg test this evening and negative.

Please is anyone in the same situation? Feel like I’m going crazy and although my DP is on board he’s more ‘wait and see, stop stressing’!

Give or take that should have said!

Dr google hasnt given me much. Its more about periods being irregular as opposed to them stopping :(

GreytExpectations · 10/04/2019 15:24

@Beclaboo seems its more that they are irregular as opposed to disappeared... the GP didnt seem too concerned at all and said when coming off the pill this can happen. I really hope its not serious! My cycle has never been clockwork but ive always had a period once a month m, gice her take the exact week

Beclaboo · 10/04/2019 15:14

@trying81 I don’t suppose you have any private healthcare through work that would help? Try not to scrutinise everything too much in the meantime but 18 weeks is a very long time I understand!

@alltheglitter that sounds weird! Have you looked into heavy spotting at all? I definitely think it’s a positive sign of things to come.

@greytexpectations how weird!! And unnerving for you! I hope that they come back soon, why on earth would they disappear again? Has doctor google told you much?

GreytExpectations · 10/04/2019 14:38

Hi ladies, thought i'd join in....

I stopped taking my pill end of October and had my withdrawal bleed in November, as expected. I then had a normal period in December and January. I thought i'd gotten lucky and was back to a normal cycle! But then February came and no AF at all, nor in March, this is now 3 month sand no AF. No idea what has suddenly stopped them. I've done about 4 pregnancy tests and all BFN so its not that. We aren't trying yet anyways, using condoms whilst I wait for my body to get back to normal (and we get ourselves ready emotionally/financially) and then aim to TTC later this year.
Ive had the occasional light bleeding/spotting but not enough to consider it a period (i think?). Worst is, for the last 2 months I've felt pretty run down- headachs, exhausted, gotten 2 colds (which is unlike me). No idea what is going on but really hoping my body sorts itself out as it making me worry :( I did visit my GP back in March and she said to just wait as irregular periods are normal for stopping the pill. Anyone have similar to this? Periods came back and then disappeared?

RudyRoo · 10/04/2019 12:15

@AllTheGlitter I have. 8 months after coming off pill and have have 4 periods. Last cycle was 45 days. AF is so light it's practically just spotting and only lasts 2 days. Have been to the GP and have to go back for blood test around day 21 cycle to check I am ovulating okay.

AllTheGlitter · 10/04/2019 12:02

Also, anyone else had much lighter AF since coming off?

AllTheGlitter · 10/04/2019 12:01

Hi ladies hope you’re all okay! I’m STILL on my period - bit weird as it sorta starts stops! When should I start doing OPKs? Might start when AF stops?

Hi @Beclaboo

I’ve read differing things about coming off the progesterone only pill - my GP says they’d expect things back to normal within 6 months generally though

I have put on weight since coming off the pill, and I’m driving myself crazy examining my face as I’m certain I’ve more hair on my top lip than normal - it’s so fair though that I’m not sure I’m just noticing it more because I’m looking for it! I’ve thought about yoga but I do have quite a busy life already with work so can’t find a class I could commit to annoyingly.

I do partly think that I’ve just left it too late, it’s hard knowing when to start when you’ve only met your partner in later life.

Beclaboo · 08/04/2019 21:10

@trying81 doesn’t it take a bit longer for things to come back to normal from then progesterone only pill? Although I appreciate 7 months feels like forever!

Do you have any PCOS symptoms? It could certainly be stress! The annoying thing is it’s not like you can magically not be stressed. If I were to be a patronising patty I’d say you should try some yoga! There are some beginners ones on YouTube and it honestly does help with stress. It will also make you strong for when everything kicks in! Sending hugs!

Trying81 · 06/04/2019 22:55

Progesterone only pill - GP has referred me to a gynaecologist but there’s an 18 week waiting list in my area. Had very light spotting twice but that’s it, not even a withdrawal bleed.

Part of me thinks the stress of worrying could now be causing it, but then googling leads me to PCOS which seems more likely.

Can’t help but think about the irony of being on the pill for years when it could be there was no need Sad

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 06/04/2019 22:49

@AllTheGlitter yes still doing OPK’s and temping and funny you should ask I did two today that were positive, so hopefully I will actually ovulate this cycle, my temps will tell me in the next few days I guess. Cd24.

@Trying81 what pill were you on? Have you been to the doctors! I thought they do tests after 6 months? Have you had any signs of anything?

Trying81 · 06/04/2019 22:06

Congrats - I’d still go for bloods if on offer, just to make sure your hormone levels look ok

Month 7 of being off the pill and no period for me - worrying but nothing I can do until I get my appointment with the gynaecologist

AllTheGlitter · 06/04/2019 21:52

@TTC2019babyno1 haha yes I thought the same! I’ll go just in case there is something that can be found in them! How’re you doing today? Are you doing OPKs still?

OP posts:
TTc2019BabyNo1 · 06/04/2019 19:14

Yay for Af both of you!!!
As fun as it would be to tell the doctors to f-off, I’d still go for the tests :), can’t hurt! 👍 x

AllTheGlitter · 06/04/2019 16:50

@beclaboo so pleased for you! I think full force AF is here now, had quite a shock when I wiped just now! Grin so glad I’m not broken/too fat after all! Should I go to the doctors for bloods or tell them to fuck off?

OP posts:
Beclaboo · 05/04/2019 18:42

AF IS HERE GUYS!!!!!! I am soooo happy! I can’t believe how happy for af to be here Grin never thought I’d see the day

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 05/04/2019 13:35

@AllTheGlitter i’m still here! Just been manic lately with work!
Go you for slimming world!! That’ll be a nice distraction from ttc for you 😊
Let us know how your blood tests go!
Yes it’s nice having Mumsnet with lovely people to talk to, especially when I can’t really talk to friends and family as we don’t want to tell people we’re ttc yet!
😊x

AllTheGlitter · 05/04/2019 13:01

@TTc2019BabyNo1 nice to hear from you! Thought we’d lost you. Was talking to my DP last night about you all saying how lovely it is to have people to chat to!

I’m sure your body will sort itself out soon, keep us updated!

I’ve joined slimming world yesterday to give me something else to focus on!

Hey ladies! I seem to have missed a lot!!

@AllTheGlitter, so sorry about the doctors, so rude but at least they took you seriously to do blood tests! But yay for AF!!! How exciting! You were just a few weeks behind me! 😃

Congratulations @SunStruck!!

Well this cycle is turning out to be a long one, I hope it’s not as long as the first (88 days) 🙄!
I’m now on day 22 without a positive OPK and only a bit of CM 😞. So disheartening to know i’m not ovulating but the doctor won’t do anything.

Keep us posted everyone, love hearing the updates!

AllTheGlitter · 04/04/2019 12:14

Ah thank god. Yeah it’s not much at all - but has now transferred to underwear rather than just being there when I wipe and is pink/bits of red. Gonna take this as a period and then start OPKs soon! Very happy something finally seems to be happening!

OP posts:
Beclaboo · 04/04/2019 12:05

@alltheglitter yes! I read about this because I had spotting but it was soooo light! But basically if you need period products then it is not spotting! EEEEKKKKK

AllTheGlitter · 04/04/2019 10:29

Hi girls hope you’re all okay this morning!

Quick question, if my ‘spotting’ is actually going into my underwear does that now mean it’s not spotting and can count it as AF? It is heavier than yesterday

OP posts:
AllTheGlitter · 03/04/2019 12:28

@beclaboo so rude!! I am PRAYING this is finally AF today and if so I’m gonna ring up the doctors tell them they can off their blood tests and take myself down to slimming world ready for TTC properly.

OP posts:
Beclaboo · 03/04/2019 12:05

@alltheglitter oh I do hope this heavy spotting becomes something! One of my
Colleagues once told me her GP questioned her need to go on the pill because it was for people who were sexually active and also her weight could cause problems. Implying she was too heavy for anyone to want to have sex with her!! Shocking!!

@sunstruck hopefully this is also a sign for things moving in the right direction for you! Eep!
