@chikitiki I'm so sorry it's been so difficult. Sometimes it really helps to say these things out loud - in the case of to the nurse and your boss. When do you get your results? I hope the tests give you some answers (and your boss gives you a pay rise!) Xx

@carastarchild I'm CD4 today and AF is pretty much over, so I think we're all synchronized this cycle. Fingers crossed we all have a positive month! Xx

Carastarchild · 26/02/2019 13:35

@Chikitiki I don't want to read & leave without sending you a massive hug xx

ChikiTIKI · 25/02/2019 19:18

All @LondonKez that's nice :) sounds like you've been pampered.

So I got an appointment today. Realised as I got called to the room that it was a nurse not a doctor. She is nice though, she did my six B12 injections when I was pregnant the first time so we had a few. Ice chats back then. About 18 months ago.

Anyway... I had a blood test. She didn't test my B12 apparently that only needs to be tested every two years and was quite high in March last year. So she requested the full iron count and the folate too. She said it's still early after the MC so not a concern about periods being irregular. Apparently the only way to regulate it is to go on the pill which I obviously don't want to do. She said I could see the GP about getting drugs to reduce the bleeding but that might mess up my cycles even more.

I admit I did cry when explaining what was wrong. I was really quite dizzy today and talking has been really difficult. This morning my arms were really weak and my hands cold and tingly. I feel like someone has taken the plug out. I am just drained!

She said I must be finding it hard to figure out when I am ovulating... I felt like saying "well I'm probably not am I?!?!" And even if I am ovulating, my cycles clearly aren't long enough for any implantation to happen.

I've had 4 periods in 7 or 8 weeks. I'm going to carry on TTC but probably won't use my app since it won't let me record my periods anyway as they are too close together. I will just write down on paper when I have periods. Don't think I will do ovulation tests either. No point at the moment, I just start bleeding whenever I get a positive OPK!

On the plus side... I have told my manager something needs to be sorted out at work, I am doing the best part of two jobs at the moment , taking on a new job (not by my choice, there was a "restructure" and I have been moved sideways) but my replacement hasn't started yet (my replacement will be pretty much doing the same job I do currently but at a higher pay band- I applied for the job but didn't get it). I've said I can't do both any more and I need to know what their plans are for the next 2 months before the replacement gets here. It's finance too at year-end is happening before they arrive. I think stress may be a factor in his I am feeling too.

Hi ladies 👋👋😘👋👋

Just checking in... I didn't sleep too much last night, so I am pretty zapped right now.

How is everyone? I am CD 4 and AF is nearly gone...just a bit of spotting.

@Londonkez I hope the cramps have lessened and AF isn't too heavy. Your Sunday sounds heavenly ❤️

@Chikitiki any update? Do you think it was actually AF? Did you make an appointment to get bloods checked?

@Laurapalmer and @38notcounting How are you both doing? I hope you both are enjoying the first official week of your pregnancy ✨💜✨

@Pineapple did you manage to get the salts? I actually suspect that they really really helped ✨✨✨

LondonKez · 24/02/2019 22:05

Thanks @Chikitiki 💜 he's been great. Breakfast in bed, bubble bath, girlie movies and a take away for dinner. Thoroughly looked after today x

I found this, looks like it could be beneficial adding iron while ttc: www.whattoexpect.com/getting-pregnant/ask-heidi/iron-and-fertility.aspx

Let us know how you get on with the doctor x

ChikiTIKI · 24/02/2019 17:16

Oh dear I'm sorry you've been feeling down and that you've been in a lot of pain @LondonKez
Your husband sounds very understanding I'm glad you're feeling better after your chat.

Thanks for your support @LondonKez and @Carastarchild I am hoping its low iron. Since I realise this other things have dawned on me too, like I keep struggling to talk because I can't remember the names of things. Simple things like "phone" or "coat". And I keep getting frustrated because I am doing things wrong and being clumsy. I am over tired basically!

I was just thinking... I don't know if you can take iron tablets in early pregnancy. I might have to stop TTC :(

Morning @carastarchild, unfortunately it is definitely AF. Blood is bright red, although the pain is significantly worse than the flow. I never really get terrible pains, but I've doubled over a few times so I would expect a very heavy flow, but it's just my regular bleed, if that makes sense? I'm ok today. Had a real wobble yesterday, but DP gave me a hug and we had a chat which is exactly what I needed.

@Chikitiki you're right, it does sound like your iron is low. You should definitely get it checked out, but at least it is very easily treatable. It'll be interesting to know if it affects your cycle too x

It has been a very eventful week for us all, beautifully said @carastarchild x

Carastarchild · 24/02/2019 00:53

I really hope everyone is okay... it's been a rough few days for some of us. It has been an amazingly fabulous few days for others who too had their share of difficult times in the past. The lesson in it all really is that we have to hold on to the belief that better days are coming 💕💕💕

Carastarchild · 23/02/2019 22:13

@chikitiki you have been through a lot ✨💜✨ Definitely get your blood checked. I am a vegetarian and I have to watch my iron levels. I have been anaemic before an I felt like death. Shortness of breath, dizziness and headaches are all definitely the signs for me. Anxiety is most of the time triggered by health issues and feeling overwhelmed. I use ferrograd as galfer gives me really bad heartburn and reflux. Take care of yourself ❤️

ChikiTIKI · 23/02/2019 20:44

I had low iron when pregnant the first time. It was awful. I kept bursting in to tears and couldn't stop, because I was just so so tired. I went on iron tablets and had six B12 injections over 2 weeks. Then I eventually felt better.

@Carastarchild I usually leave gaps between taking one tampon out and putting the next one in, so would just use a pad for an hour or two, and only use tampons on the first day, first night and second morning of a 4 day cycle.

I might have had a lightbulb moment, or maybe not... But I am probably anaemic. That would explain the headaches, extreme dizziness of last week, exhaustion and having to go to bed super early. I can't find out using Google if low iron causes short cycles because whatever I type in, it just says "heavy periods can cause low iron levels".

Oh and another thing that I have suffered badly with this week that is coincidentally cause by low iron is anxiety. On the night I was very very dizzy, I was very worried I wouldn't wake up, or I would be too poorly to get up to care for my child (and husband was not home that night) and I was also worried I hadn't locked the door even though I knew I had, and that someone would come in the house and take my baby :(

Carastarchild · 23/02/2019 20:03

@Chikitiki you must be incredibly confused! I read somewhere that tampons are not good, as although they absorb the blood flow, they don't allow the tissue the womb expels to be released, causing the tissue to remain in the womb. I read an article about it. Also you can get an lh surge just before the period is due. Sending you a big virtual hug x

ChikiTIKI · 23/02/2019 17:26

@Carastarchild sadly I don't think so.... I have probably filled 5 tampons so far and it's very dark with quite a few clots.. Probably AF :(

OP posts:
Carastarchild · 23/02/2019 16:19

@pineapple I asked my DH to take the tissue salts too. We are planning to do the SMEP plan again this month. I am also going to start drinking grapefruit juice as it's supposed to increase cervical mucus.

Carastarchild · 23/02/2019 16:10

Thank you so much for all your kindness and support ✨💜✨

Wishing you both a healthy and happy pregnancy 💕💕💕@laurapalmersbodybag and @38notcounting 💕💕💕 Enjoy every moment 😊

Carastarchild · 23/02/2019 15:44

Londonkez are you sure it is AF? Some women get spotting due to implantation. Can you share your chart. It seems odd that the temps are up and AF would arrive.

Chikitiki perhaps it's post ovulation spotting? That happened to me this month. I had a bit of red spotting a day or two after ovulation

ChikiTIKI · 23/02/2019 12:51

Oh no :( I'm sorry @LondonKez that's the pits. I really thought it was your month.

Are we both on CD1 then?

I don't know if I should really say I am ttc any more... I mean it's never going to work if I have 2-week cycles is it :(

Does anyone else get a really bad throbbing pain in their crotch area on first day of period when standing up? Been round the shops this morning, pegged out the washing and just done some baking by the end I was in agony!! Lol. Lying on the sofa now... Aah :) xxx

OP posts:
LondonKez · 23/02/2019 11:10

AF has arrived 💔

2 days late and my temp is still up, so imagine it'll drop tomorrow. Absolutely gutted, but not surprised. Hope is a pretty torturous thing!

Good luck @PineappleC, get busy! Xx

PineappleC · 23/02/2019 08:39

@Londonkez really sorry to hear that as it looked really promising for you! I hope you're not out and you get some good news soon! Also, I am taking the Seven Seas ones now, and my cycle is most definitely not long. (Average 25 days!). I didn't get on well with the Pregnacare ones so switched a couple of months ago.

@Chiki that sounds really confusing so sounds like a trip to GP is a good idea, even if just to give you peace of mind. A miscarriage probably gives the body quite a bit of confusion so hopefully it'll settle down soon 😊😊

@cara thanks for that - i like the idea of improving circulation. I've now read they also help inflammation too which is one reason I'm trying to (unsuccessfully!) cut down on sugar and stress, so will give it a try!!

I am relieved to be back from my work trip (so dull!) and heading into fertile week. Cd7 now. Plan is to DTD every day/other day until cd11, then just every day from the until we get exhausted 😅

PineappleC · 23/02/2019 08:26

@38notcounting Such fantastic news! Congratulations 😁 🎉🎉🎉

ChikiTIKI · 23/02/2019 08:13

Thanks @LauraPalmersBodybag xxx

ChikiTIKI · 23/02/2019 08:07

Sorry to hear that @LondonKez
With my first pregnancy I took those tablets and got pregnant in the first month, and didn't ovulate late I don't think. Might just be a coincidence for those people? Xxxx still crossing my fingers for you xxxx

OP posts:
LondonKez · 23/02/2019 07:57

@Chikitiki I'm so sorry. I think you're right to go to the doctor. I hope they're able to give you some advice. Hopefully there will be a very simple solution 💜

I've just had some very dark brown when wiping. I took seven seas this month rather than just regular folic acid + vit d. Just seen a thread on here saying it made a lot of people's cycles really long. Hope that's not the case for me, but I'm not feeling very optimistic anymore x

LauraPalmersBodybag · 23/02/2019 07:30

Sorry - just reread that you’re going to the doctor, i’m a bit bleary eyed. I think it’s a good idea and I hope they’re able to offer you some comfort. xxx

LauraPalmersBodybag · 23/02/2019 07:28

Sending love @chikitiki I’m sorry that everything is so tipsy turvy. If you’re worried would seeing a doctor help? I hope this is just your body readjusting during this difficult time. Flowers
