@Chikitiki I am ovulating early but my AF was 5 days late when it arrived... I wonder if my ovaries carried on regardless...🤔 Keep testing at least twice a day. I bought the cheap opks in poundland. They work fine...when are your visitors leaving? Well the other side is they can babysit whilst yourself and DH go on a date night 😋 Fx you get a positive OPK soon and your cycle returns to normal. My sister said her friend got pregnant when she was breastfeeding and she didn't even have a period. Don't give up! They are brighter days ahead x

ChikiTIKI · 03/03/2019 19:59

I am on CD9. DTD on CD4 (even though I said I wouldn't) but haven't since because we've had family to stay, meaning me and DH had to sleep in our child's bedroom with her. If I am in line with my last 4 or 5 cycles, AF is due in about a week.

I don't think this cycle will be it but we never know... Will get back to DTD tonight just incase I have a normal cycle again.

Are your ovulating early this month?

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 03/03/2019 19:54

Wow that's a strong OPK @Carastarchild !!! Time to make up with your DH!!!! Xxxx

I had a row with my DH as he spent hours listening to vinyls and playing the PlayStation. I asked if I needed to make an appointment to spend time with him....half an hour later ... positive OPK 😔

Carastarchild · 03/03/2019 18:57

Positive OPK 😮

@Chiki absolutely agree that hope is a powerful thing!! One thing I am really trying to work on with this is positive thinking - I think our mood affects so much, including hormones. But you're right, some months are harder and I think this month for me has been the hardest yet, as I start to worry that after 5 months there is something wrong!! I don't think marathon training is helping though as I've read about strenuous exercise damaging ovulation 🤔 I really hope you get some improvement in your cycle length soon, and hooecully as your nurse said itll work itself out shortly xx

@cara I just feel a little bit odd! Overly emotional and tired, almost as if AF is coming (But hadn't even ov'd yet) plus I'm having my first proper cold in about 3yrs. Just started the calc tablets this weekend too 👍👍

Opks have been quite a education. Weird that mine went from totally negative to totally positive in less than 12hrs, but I didn't realise it was another 12-36hrs until you actually ov. So I think we may have been stopping DTD too early in previous months. Gonna carry on for a few days now, hopefully will help!!

ChikiTIKI · 02/03/2019 16:51

Gosh that is a quick change @Carastarchild

I have 6 or 7 OPKs left.... Not used one today or yesterday. I think I ovulate while on AF at the moment anyway! Xxxx

@Chikitiki I am testing three times a day for my LH surge because it can be easy to miss it if you test once a day. See my picture as to how quickly it can change.

Carastarchild · 02/03/2019 15:09

@pineapple what symptoms are you having? Did thought the raspberry was lovely! I never expected to be allergic to it 😷

I think ovulation is on its way...CD 9 🤔

@Chikitiki that's great that your blood came back showing normal iron levels. Maybe you are burning the wick at both ends resulting in you feeling exhausted and dizzy.

@PineappleC some months seem a lot more stressful than others don't they? I never know why....

I am flipping between most thinking I just can't get pregnant at the moment with my very short cycles but then again I get hopeful.... Hope is such a strong and powerful feeling! Just a tiny bit of it overpowers everything!! Even if just for a moment xxxx

OP posts:
PineappleC · 01/03/2019 20:21

@cara that sounds horrid! I hope it sorts itself out quickly 🤞 I had no idea you could get allergic reactions to it!! I've just started with raspberry leaf tea and I wonder if that's why I am feeling so odd at the moment 🤔

PineappleC · 01/03/2019 20:12

Thanks @Chiki, actually just did one now and got a second line pretty much as dark as the control line. Actually crying with relief! Can't believe it can be non existent at 8am and then solid 12hrs later. We DTD this afternoon so I hope this gives us a chance at least! Sorry to be such a drama queen - this month feels quite stressful!!

ChikiTIKI · 01/03/2019 19:41

@PineappleC you can have the hormone surge and then have it go back down to a low level all in 24 hours so if you're testing once a day you might have missed it?

Oh no @Carastarchild that sounds awful!!! Hope you're ok now! Xxxx

Carastarchild · 01/03/2019 18:01

Hi Ladies...thank goodness it's Friday!! I had an allergic reaction to Red raspberry leaf tea...it gave me asthma symptoms and hives pretty much all over my body...I was breaking out here and there, then they would go away then they would pop again somewhere else.....the joys of ttc :O

PineappleC · 01/03/2019 12:23

Thanks @Chiki, and that sounds really good that you've got a bit of a plan. I hope it helps you!!

Actually ladies I could do with some advice. Just started using Opks this morning, it's cd13 and I have the same type of CM I usually have around this time when I believe I'm ovulsting (watery, little bit of ewcm). Thing is it was negative, zilch, not even a faint second line! Obviously now had a meltdown thinking I don't ovulate at all, so I guess I wondered if this sounds familiar at all of if it's just me!? Oh and pls be honest - if it sounds like I'm screwed I'd rather know now! 😊😭

ChikiTIKI · 28/02/2019 19:43

Thanks @PineappleC :)

Hopefully you're about to ovulate. Good luck with the Marathon training!! Xxxx

Oh an update from me too... My bloods came back normal! Don't know the exact levels or anything. My sister advised me that although my blood had a good strength of iron in it, my actual blood volume might be quite low. So I need to eat some salty food and drink at least three litres of water a day. Not much else the GP could do for me really. I am glad my sister is a doctor although she must get bored of me asking her medical things sometimes!! It was only a few weeks ago I was sending her photos of that rash I had lol !!!!!! I am glad I don't need iron tablets though. I was on them for ages in my first pregnancy and after the traumatic birth where I lost so much blood... It is not good for your body to take iron tablets for a long time.

Hope you're all having a good day xxxx

Where I wrote GO I obviously meant GP! Xxxx

Thanks @38notcounting :) xx

Regarding the doctor... Normally you have a booking in appointment with the midwife at about 8 weeks, at least by 10 weeks normally. Where I live and in most places in the UK, you self refer to see the midwife so don't have to see a doctor first. I live in a large town so had my midwife appointments at my GO surgery (it is a big place), other people have them at local clinics etc. Probably best to phone your GO surgery and they will help you out. Unless it takes ages to get appointments where you are, you shouldn't need to phone before you get to 6 weeks.

Pregnancy always messes up my sleep. I just get the most vivid dreams. It's so odd!! Hope you get some better rest soon. Through pregnancy and having a baby your body will learn to quickly get back to sleep after being woken! Xxxx

Hi all

@chiki hope you manage to sort things out at work and sorry that you're having such a rough time. That's the last thing you need when you're ttc. Hopefully if you feel a bit less stressed your cycles will go back to normal too and it will be a lucky month for you💕✨

@carastarchild @londonkez @pineapplec keeping everything crossed for you this month ✨✨✨

I'm doing ok. Don't feel very pregnant at all but am having really broken sleep - maybe it's some very early preparation! Not got much on at the weekend so am going to try and take it easy.

I hope I'm not being insensitive but, those of you with children, when should I tell the doctor I'm pregnant? I was thinking of waiting til 6 weeks so as not to tempt fate. I know it's probably stupid but I'm expecting something to go wrong xxx

PineappleC · 28/02/2019 18:08

@cara thanks so much once again 😊 I've ordered the salt tissue and I think it's arriving tomorrow. Work has been so busy this week I've lost a bit of focus on TTC which I'm a little annoyed with myself about, and telling myself this is way more important than damn work! I am also taking some vitamins - seven seas TTC and coq10, I think I also need to look at vit d and b12 like you, definitely feeling the lack of sun!! Also just started raspberry leaf tea to try and lengthen my cycles a bit 🤞

@Chiki so sorry that you're going through so much stress. It sounds really confusing - I'm sure your gp is right that it'll even itself out, but I know that doesn't help very much when you're waiting when ttc! Sending you lots of hugs xx

I am now on cd12. CM still a bit dry so either ovulating late, or missed it, or maybe no ov this cycle 🤷‍♀️ I've been doing a lot of running as am marathon training so probably need to work on hydration too!!

ChikiTIKI · 26/02/2019 19:05

@Carastarchild I work in the NHS so no pay rise for me :) oh well!!

I am feeling quite a bit better today. I am on CD4 too. With the way my cycles are going lately I am worried I have ovulated already!!!! Lol. Not DTD yet this cycle though. AF nearly over but not yet. I can't DTD when on my period. I just can't!!!!!
