Implant removed and TTC

Staceymado04 · 18/02/2019 19:53

Hi, I had my implant removed after 3.5years of having it, on 16th January. When I had the implant I never once had a period. After 1 month of removal there is still no sign of a period. Me and my husband are TTC with our second babes and the last week I’ve been feeling quite unwell with sickness and feeling sick, light headed, headaches. Could I be pregnant even tho I’ve only had my implant removed a month ago?
Has anyone else fell pregnant straight after implant removal? Hope you can help ladies. TIA xx

Momof2boyss · 09/03/2019 19:50

Can't quite believe I'm posting this but I haven't told anyone (my fiancé family etc)
I've just done 2 tests and they're positive..??
I'm in shock and so anxious but also excited!
I don't know what to think I'm in shock!!

xx

@Momof2boyss

Oh wow, what your doc said is really helpful, I had no idea when to assume my cycle started, I went from the day I got the implant removed because that's the day I also had the withdrawal bleed so it's closest I could get.

I also took a FRER, on the 5th of this month and I thought the same as you - it should show positive by now. Really disappointing.

I will keep you updated, and please keep me updated too! Hubby and I are keeping it secret so it's a bit lonely for me doing this without support of friends. Fingers crossed for us Smile

Momof2boyss · 08/03/2019 22:49

Hey @HannahJones3

Seems we defo are in a similar situation!

My doctor said she's not concerned that I've not had a period yet. If by 6 weeks after having it removed I've not had anything still then to return for bloods.

She explained that day 1 of removal it's like day 1 of your cycle and some women have a long cycle so to wait 6 weeks before going for any tests etc.

I've been taking pregnancy tests most days and all have been definite negatives! Last time I took one was weds and it was a FRER so if I was pregnant surely it would have shown something?

I have no idea what my body is up to I just hope this is either a proper period or I end up falling pregnant because it's driving me insane.

Keep us updated how you get on if AF shows or you get a BFP xx

HannahJones3 · 08/03/2019 22:28

Hi Momof2boyss,

I'm new so don't know how to tag people, sorry!

I saw you had your implant removed on 4th Feb, I had mine removed on 6th Feb and had no AF since so we seem in a similar boat? I had strong cramping 28th Feb - 1st Mar, which felt like AF was going to make an appearance but she didn't come. Since then I've just had mild aching which comes and goes.

All negative tests so far, I'm wondering if I should give up hope for this month and just hope AF comes soon Confused

Momof2boyss · 08/03/2019 19:58

Hey I thought I'd post an update.
Not very exciting but today I've randomly started spotting?? Never spotted before so no idea if it's possible implantation or the start of a period but who knows.

Barely any cramping, if any it's been so mild and not period like. The last time we DTD was 14 days ago and not since, so im assuming this spotting can't be implantation 🤷🏻‍♀️

xx

Congratulations!!! Thanks

Staceymado04 · 04/03/2019 18:39

@Momof2boyss yes I agree hun. I was willing my AF along so that I could understand my cycle (obvs my body didn’t want AF 🙈)

Thank you so much. Will defiantly keep you updated hun. And let me know of any news you have. Good luck with everything

Thank you @Staceymado04 I'm definitely at a point where I'd welcome AF if it means I'm then able to track ovulation etc to make TTC easier and possibly faster.

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy lovely! You will have to keep us updated on how you go and what you end up having, It's such an exciting time!

I had my implant removed after 6 years using it.

Was pregnant within three months. We think the first month we had a very early miscarriage as I had a lot of blood clots well after a period would of happened but I didn't test before hand (I didn't think I would get pregnant that quick).

My doctor found I was pregnant as I had a blood test. Was testing negative on the pregnancy tests a few days before hand.

My ovulation was a lot later in the cycle than a normal app or tracker said.

@TildaTurnip thank you xx

@Momof2boyss thank you so much!! I’m soo happy, can’t quite believe it to be honest. I feel okay, just the odd nausea feeling and bloated ness. But other than that I feel good. I really hope either af or bfp comes for you soon so you can just some sort of understanding what your body is doing. It is really frustrating the not knowing part. I have my fingers crossed for you xxx

That is great news.

Momof2boyss · 04/03/2019 16:02

@Staceymado04 that's amazing news I'm so pleased for you!! How are you felling symptom wise?? I have still not had AF and the last time I tested was Saturday just gone (not using FMU) and it was negative. So I'm not pregnant and still no AF, so frustrating 😩 xx

Staceymado04 · 04/03/2019 15:44

Hey ladies. Just a update! So on Wednesday it will be 7 weeks since implant removal.. after feeling very strange over the weekend, with feeling sick and bloated I decided to take a test today and I got a BFP!!! I really didn’t think it’d come back positive as I took a test last Monday and that was negative and I was convinced I was just making the symptoms up in my head. But I took a clear blue test today and it said 2-3 weeks which I then read means around 5 weeks pregnant. I’m so shocked and soo happy.
Thanks for all your help ladies. Good luck x

I did have 1 awful period after it was removed then fell pregnant.

I knew immediately.

Staceymado04 · 25/02/2019 06:48

@momsof2boyss ahh I will do. I had to have a altrsound scan on Friday for a abdominal pain I’ve been having for a few months and there clearly was no baby to be seen on the scan. So no need to test just yet 🙈. But I’ve still not had af yet either so god knows what’s going on. Will keep you updated tho hun. And you keep me updated too. Fingers crossed it happens for us both soon. Good luck xx

@Staceymado04 keep us updated how you get on weather AF arrives or you get a BFP.
I tested yesterday on a FRER and got a very clear negative (no matter how hard I squinted or held it up to the light lol) and still no AF and no symptoms of it arriving anytime soon! xx

TildaTurnip · 22/02/2019 20:17

Just looked in my phone diary from that year and I tested about 7-8 weeks after having it out and got a 1-2 weeks reading on test. The pregnancy started as twins so I think I may have had high hcg. No symptoms apart from an implantation bleed.

Good luck!

Staceymado04 · 22/02/2019 05:46

@TildaTurnip that’s amazing! When did you test to see if you were pregnant? Did you get any symptoms at all?

OP posts:
Staceymado04 · 22/02/2019 05:13

@momsof2boyss it’s soo hard to know your cycle isn’t it. I had my implant removed 16th January and I’ve still not had a af. I’ve didn’t have af at all through my 3.5 years of implant. So I have no clue. I tested on Monday but it was negative so I’m not sure if that means I’m testing too early. I have had some symptoms that could be pregnancy related tho.

OP posts:
Momof2boyss · 21/02/2019 21:34

Wow @TildaTurnip do you know if it was definitely after it had been removed that you fell pregnant?
My doctor said you can fall pregnant if you dtd in the week prior to it being removed.
I've been testing and it's definitely negative so unless I'm testing too early I don't think I'm pregnant. No symptoms of pregnancy or period coming although 7 days ago I had cramping and thought for sure I'd be coming in but I still haven't.

TildaTurnip · 21/02/2019 20:42

I had my implant removed and panicked that my periods hadn’t returned but in fact I was pregnant. So I must have had it removed and then got pregnant within a couple of weeks.

Momof2boyss · 21/02/2019 20:31

@Staceymado04 I'd be interested to see what others have experienced too!
I had my implant removed on Feb 4th & have had no af yet!
Prior to thank my last af was the last week of August..
Have been dtd as I had the implant removed to ttc baby #3 but like you have no idea if you can even fall pregnant without af xx

Staceymado04 · 20/02/2019 16:56

Oh okay. Thanks for all your help. 😘
