bunhead34 · 15/02/2019 14:16

I thought I'd start a march bus as I'm def out for feb 👹

Ttc #1
Cycle # 9
I'm 34, H 30

Waiting for cd21/thyroid blood test results next week and will go from there. Had good results on my scan last week.
Can't be arsed with opk/spem/conceive plus Or any of that, so taking the month off. Will just be sure to dtd around expected ov 🤷🏼‍♀️
And continuing with acupuncture.

I'm joining the March bandwagon!

Age 29
Cycle #2
Ovulation is due tomorrow/Saturday. CD 14 at the moment.

Broodyaf · 28/02/2019 12:01

I'm 3DPO today.
Every cycle I tell myself I'm going to hold out to minimum 10DPO but that never happens - I just love POAS 🙄🙈

TulipsTwoLips · 28/02/2019 11:02

@sukisydney I know exactly what you mean! No worries, you didn’t worry me! I’m an internet trawler too!

🤞🏼 to you for next time

sukisydney · 28/02/2019 10:37

@Peachyx2505 nothing special just family time and early nights Smile - my cycle seems all off anyway after the CP, so not holding out much hope this month xx

@TulipsTwoLips I'm just clutching at straws looking for answers, which I think is normal after a pregnancy loss, although in reality I'm sure if a pregnancy is going to happen an orgasm or two isn't going to stop it. Really sorry if my neurotic Google trawl worried you (and for balance I actually read another study today saying couples who had more sex in the 2WW had more pregnancies, so I think it's just a case of if you hunt for any answer on Google you'll find it somewhere!) xx

TulipsTwoLips · 28/02/2019 10:15

Oh no 😢 We BD’d this morning at 4dpo. Hopefully it won’t affect implantation 😢.

Anyone else at 4dpo? When are you going to test?

As ever, good luck to everyone! 💐🤞🏼

Peachyx2505 · 28/02/2019 09:58

@PyjamasForever it's crazy isn't it. I love working permanent nights tho.... despite the tiredness and not knowing what day it is 😂 I'm only working 4 nights in March as I'm using up annual leave. I've only been back at work since October after having 5 months off after an op, so think I'm still adjusting. Hats off to anyone who does days and nights.

@sukisydney hope you catch ov too. Have you got anything nice planned this weekend?

ronniemipperton · 27/02/2019 20:44

Oh ffs! I know what you mean about looking for reasons though, I’ve had a MMC at 10 weeks and MC at 6 weeks, which I’ve variously blamed on a walking holiday, eating beansprouts, pollution, planking, pilates, too much protein, not enough iron etc etc etc... may as well add orgasms to the list!

sukisydney · 27/02/2019 20:24

Interesting @ronniemipperton in that article it suggests sperm's good, orgasm's bad: "Furthermore, uterine myometrial activity is increased during intercourse, especially in the event of female orgasm (Fox et al., 1970). These contractions may interfere with implantation of the early embryo, since high levels of spontaneous uterine activity are associated with poor IVF–embryo transfer outcome (Franchin et al., 1998b)."
So it seems to suggest having sex without pleasure... women getting the raw deal AGAIN! Hmm

sukisydney · 27/02/2019 20:06

Yes very good point @ronniemipperton, will try and step away from the keyboard! With DC1 we were young and carefree and DTD enthusiastically throughout the 2WW without thinking twice, but I know from my MMC and this CP that it's tempting to try and come up with a reason why (even though in reality it's all just in the lap of the gods).

@Peachyx2505 I think we're due to O around the same time, hope Saturday works out timing wise for you. Neither me or DH are in the mood at all at the mo - hoping that changes by the weekend!

Keeping everything crossed for those in the 2WW Star

PyjamasForever · 27/02/2019 19:45

@Peachyx2505 I have the same problem with working nights, means I can't temp because actually I don't think my body knows what time of day it is!

ronniemipperton · 27/02/2019 19:07

(That is admittedly semen being good for implantation rather than orgasms, but still... anyway, everyone says relaxing is good during the tww)

ronniemipperton · 27/02/2019 19:04

I don’t think the orgasm thing is anything to worry about, I’m pretty sure most of the billions of women who’ve given birth had sex in the tww. And probably not all disappointing sex 😛

One thing I have learnt on this long ttc journey is that there’s evidence for everything if you google it... and for everything’s opposite. (Carrots are my latest mindfuck. Good for fertility? Bad because too much vitamin A? Who knows...)

Anyway here’s the counterview on sex, if not orgasms specifically: academic.oup.com/humrep/article/15/12/2653/2915864

Peachyx2505 · 27/02/2019 17:41

Not to bad thanks @Broodyaf ! Just waiting for ov! Been testing the last couple of days with ov strips... nowt exciting there tho 😂 should ov this weekend. DH and I are away overnight on Saturday so hopefully we will catch ov! Any news from your gp appt? I think you have as good of a chance as any broody. Prime time for dtd Xx

@sukisydney I've not heard of the orgasm thing....

@CoachBombay how you feeling now? Hope the pain has gone and 🤞for you this month xx

@TulipsTwoLips not experienced thrush at that point of my cycle, but it's interesting it could be hormone related 🤞🤞

@Hanni1234 I wear my Fitbit a lot. Not sure if my resting HR is accurate enough to look for patterns though, I work nights and sometimes go 48hours with 3 hours sleep!!

Hello and good luck to the ladies who have joined recently. 🤞💕

HappyGoLuckyGo · 27/02/2019 11:04

*dtd-ing, rather.

HappyGoLuckyGo · 27/02/2019 11:03

I’ll have to check out this Outlander thing, but I’ve never heard anything about orgasms (ha, just autocorrected to organza) affecting success of pregnancies??

Today is supposedly first day of FW, based on Clue predictions, but DH is working far too much and so there’s no dtd-inf likely until Friday I suspect... Good luck to all those in the tww, it’s such a frustrating time!

sukisydney · 27/02/2019 10:55

@PyjamasForever aha, a fellow connoisseur Grin Yes, quite unfair really - never thought about it before, but Dr Google does seem to suggest it might be best to stick to Newsnight during the 2WW Smile

PyjamasForever · 27/02/2019 10:00

I've just read your post @sukisydney... nothing helpful to add, but you've given me a right giggle about Outlander. Seems unfair that we need to be all healthy, take vitamins, stop/reduce drinking, stay fit and then on top of all of that sacrificing special time with Jamie from Outlander. Wink

PyjamasForever · 27/02/2019 09:56

Ovia says I'm 1dpo, but I think from symptoms I'm 5dpo. Already fighting the urge to POAS even though I know it would definitely be negative. Every month so far I've said I'll wait until AF is due and I haven't yet managed that!

Trying to distract myself. Work this afternoon and going for a wander around the garden centre this morning. Hurt my back so all my gardening plans have been out on hold.

TulipsTwoLips · 27/02/2019 08:57

3dpo here and an awful cold. Would like to think it’s an early symptom but I know exactly when I caught it and who I caught it from! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hanni1234 · 27/02/2019 08:51

Hi ladies, how is everyone getting on?
I’m 6dpo now, and obsessing about every little niggle. I have no symptoms at all, still early days I know, but I had so many symptoms before my last pregnancy that I feel deflated already!
Does anybody use a Fitbit to track heart rate? I’ve only had it since Christmas but it’s been interesting to see how my resting heart changes throughout my cycle!

Broodyaf · 27/02/2019 05:57

Thanks @Peachyx2505
How u getn on?

Peachyx2505 · 27/02/2019 00:06

Hi @Broodyaf keeping everything crossed for you this month 🤞 💕

sukisydney · 26/02/2019 23:51

Fingers crossed to those in the 2WW! Anyone have any knowledge about orgasm in the 2WW? I had some alone time watching Outlander right when my CP last month would have implanted and wondering if that could have affected things... I know CPs are thought to be pregnancies that wouldn't have worked out anyway, just want to maximise chances of it not happening again (and I think some people going through IVF are told not to get jiggy at all during the 2WW?) I'm not due to O for a few days so maybe will go on an Outlander marathon until then Blush

barnburntdown · 26/02/2019 21:42

Thank you LS897. I did wonder if it's not an accurate reading anyway. Even if I was peaking it's tonight come back as low fertility. Ah well hopefully there's enough in the tank for something to happen! 1 or 2 dpo here then I reckon. I'll test on 9th March.

ronniemipperton · 26/02/2019 21:34

Hahaha. I know it’s perfectly natural and everything, but it starts seeming like such a weird concept when you think about it too much 🤣
