Explorers10 · 10/02/2019 17:45

So my AF has arrived today but looking forward to having another go at TTC for a baby in November 2019.

Cycle: 4
Age: 34
CD: 1

Anyone else want to join in the same position as we try to get through this next cycle together?

@WildFlower2019 only to reiterate what you know and what others have said already - book a gp appt, it’s a big step for you but that’s a step in the right direction to help give you some answers / peace. Flowers

@veeboo how long after requesting a sperm analysis did your dh get an appointment? My dh refuses to even consider it until we’ve been ttc for more than 12 months (hopefully we don’t get that far but on cycle 8 now without any luck).

I had fertility acupuncture yesterday! It was good actually and she spent the first hour of the appointment asking questions about my lifestyle and ttc journey. It was so cathartic to share my feelings without judgement!

veeboo · 19/02/2019 19:46

Some reliable websites say that even if everything is right timing wise you have a 1/5 chance of getting pregnant each try. It's frustrating but at least reassured me that it's probably not me!

MrsP4 · 19/02/2019 18:59

@veeboo God that's so annoying people always to me thought you'd be pregnant by now having just got married and that and the other day I just shouted to someone and went so did I! They just looked like 😳 Haha shut them up like. @Explorers10 that's exactly it! That's why I like coming on here because it reminds me that I'm not alone. Xx

Explorers10 · 19/02/2019 18:46

It is brutal that you do all you can by dtd during the fertile week and use opks but still AF shows up! It’s like you doing all you can that it should work and miffed why it doesn’t. It immediately makes you think what If something is wrong. It’s so horrid!!!

This is the place to rant! I nearly lost the plot at a friend who asked me with a smirk on her face why I wasn't drinking and if I had anything to tell her. Good that they are testing you now but it also helped me to hear them say it is normal.

MrsP4 · 19/02/2019 18:25

@veeboo yes been trying since SEPT I know it's not a long time compared to some but I just feel that it's really getting to me lately, I'm just fed up of the vicious circle every month go from being positive thinking this is my month, get a positive OPK, DTD on all the right days and then the dreaded TWW And then bam AF shows her ugly face 😩 sorry for the rant 🙈 I know it's the same for all of us, I have so many friends that are currently pregnant and I can't help but get insanely jealous although I am happy for them

veeboo · 19/02/2019 18:13

@MrsP4 how long have you been trying for? If since September wedding, not too long to worry a consultant. Ours was very positive and we've been trying a year. He did ask us about infertility in the family but I understand you not wanting to start the gossip mill! It's the bit of ttc which does my head in most!

MrsP4 · 19/02/2019 16:15

@veeboo it's Greece so far enough, don't really want to be that big pregnant bridesmaid sticking out like a sore thumb haha 😂

I'm not sure yet got my first appointment with GP on 28th so we'll see what they say then, part of me really wants to ask my mum is she struggled and how long it took her but I can't because we will get over excited and I will feel more pressure then both mums already go on about how much they can't wait to be grandparents 🙈

veeboo · 19/02/2019 15:53

I can't advise you @MrsP4 but if it was me I'd keep going and find a way to deal with what arises. Is it long haul?

Are they doing 'day 21'bloods? If so they will check for progesterone which will signal if you ov ulated. I had mine done a bit later due to long cycle. They also checked for diabetes/thyroid issues and a few other hormones. Sperm analysis took about a week. We've had a hospital referral now and I've got an ultrasound March 4th where they will check my ovaries then a procedure after that to check fallopian tubes.

MrsP4 · 19/02/2019 14:45

Oh that's such great news @veeboo I just feel like I need that bit of reassurance that everything is fine and working properly! What do they look for in your bloods? And how long does it take to get the results back from the sperm analysis? I know that's what I think, if they're true friends they will be happy for us and accept that we can't be there, I feel like I don't want to put my life on hold for others I put off TTC for my own wedding in sept and I'm starting to regret that now I know how long it takes.

veeboo · 19/02/2019 14:20

Hi @MrsP4 it's very stressful and difficult not to overthink isn't it? We've had sperm analysis and bloods now and was a huge relief when DP's results came back fine. We've been invited to a Mexico wedding this December and going to have to say no now due to zika and/or baby on way. It's sad but I figure you can't put your life on hold though.

MrsP4 · 19/02/2019 13:11

@WildFlower2019 Don't be embarrassed and we know your not looking for sympathy, we're all here to support each other, and I'm so happy that your getting some help like you said it's all peace of mind, My DH got a referral yesterday to have a sperm analysis done so we're going to see what that comes back as and if it's all done I'm going to request bloods for me, I think once I know that we're both ok I will be able to relax a bit about it, I think deep down I'm worried because one of my best friends is getting married abroad next May and I'm maid of honour and DH is best man and I'm panicking about that because of the whole TTC, I don't want to put it TTC but then I don't want to let them down if we can't be there 😔

WildFlower2019 · 19/02/2019 12:20

Aww it's been lovely to have the supportive messages from you all but I'm a bit embarrassed now! I was just wondering if anyone's had any similar bleeding, maybe after a MC or TFMR? I wasn't looking for sympathy etc.

Anyway, doctors phoned me this morning. They read over my econsultation and called me in. The nurse is going to swab me today (no idea what for, infections maybe?) and then I'm seeing the doctor in 2 weeks to discuss everything.

I've had no bleeding since yesterday morning so I feel like a fraud now....! I think it's all going to be nothing... Ah well, it's peace of mind isn't it.

Don't know whether to keep TTC now or wait til next month? I'm due to ovulate soon and we've already been BDing!!! So I guess I might as well carry on?

Explorers10 · 18/02/2019 19:55

@wildflower2019

So sorry to hear this, you have been through a lot and it’s normal to be feeling the way you are feeling. It’s very difficult to be strong. Wishing you loads of strength & be kind to yourself. I think you could do with a holiday!

@WildFlower2019 I've got no advice or words of wisdom. The other ladies have given fab advice. You are so brave talking about it and talking to your gp.
Be kind to yourself xxx

veeboo · 18/02/2019 16:18

@WildFlower2019 I think you've been very brave and are doing the right thing in getting support/advice

ale2992 · 18/02/2019 16:13

Does anyone find their more prone to cramping after miscarriage?
Don't know if I'm just more aware of my body but I seem to get more regular cramping now, I was on the pill for a longtime time prior to TTC so not sure if that's a factor also?

WildFlower2019 · 18/02/2019 16:08

@veeboo no advice, Drs were meant to see me 6 weeks after but they never sent me an appt. I was fine so didn't bother phoning to make one. They only want to discuss MH anyway I was told.

I did see the consultant to discuss baby's post mortem in November and told her I was generally fine (which I was then).

It's just recently it's started happening. Two weeks ago I had a complete meltdown emotionally. I told DH that there's no point in me being here on this planet etc. I felt so flat, and fed up. I couldn't stop crying. Anxiety has been bad too. I'd say that's the worst I've ever been.

I don't really feel like that now but I know i will again in about 2 weeks. Hence why I think my hormones are whacky. And like I said, the huge headaches.

I've put on weight and been stressed so it could be as simple as that. Both can affect hormones.

And the grief / disappointments of BFNs

Sorry for going on, I'll shut up now!

WildFlower2019 · 18/02/2019 16:02

Thanks for your messages @veeboo and @MrsP4. I am sure it's nothing but in my mind and a bit of spotting turns into Pelvic Inflammatory Disease or something worse & my fertility is going to be affected etc etc. It's just anxiety I suppose.

You'll be pleased to know that I've sent an online message to my doctors and apparently they'll give me a call back today or tomorrow to discuss.

I liked doing this so I could write everything down coherently!

I didn't know they offered this service.

MrsP4 · 18/02/2019 15:56

Ahh sorry your going through all that @WildFlower2019 if it's any consultation I spot every now and then since coming off the pill, usually a couple days before AF and sometimes after sex but it's never a lot and not all the time so I've sort of put it off and like you I hate going to the doctors also, I read that it's fairly normal after stopping the pill so I guess that's why I've not really thought anything in to it, due to your TFMR I would go and get it checked and explain your a bit worried they can do blood tests and check hormone levels etc

veeboo · 18/02/2019 15:29

@WildFlower2019 I'm really sorry for your experience. You know you need to do the gp. Try and think of it as the right thing to do to make sure you are healthy for your future baby. Did they give you any advice after the tfmr? Good luck x

WildFlower2019 · 18/02/2019 14:45

Hello @MrsP4 - sorry to see you don't have your BFP too x

Ok I've been putting off posting this .... I'm a bit worried at the moment... I know the solution is to go visit my doctor, but I hate going, i hate talking to doctors, I hate driving there and I even hate phoning for appts. It's like a weird mental block. But I promise I will go... honest!

I had a TFMR on the last day of August, no period in September and a two day period in October. From November onwards we've been TTC again. In December and January, I had 3 days of spotting before my otherwise normal period but didn't think anything of it.

Then in February, I had 3 days of spotting before my period, then a normal period then spotting after. Then it stopped for a day and started again with a bit of fresh red blood (For one day).

Then DH and I BDd at the weekend and it's started again!

The thing is I am due to ovulate and since November I've had spotting in my CM during ovulation. But I tend to spot the day I ovulate, not before.

This most recent bleeding could also be after sex, I suppose. It did hurt me a little at first but sometimes it does it we have "baby making" sex and I'm not relaxed enough (tmi sorry!!!)

Looking on nhs website and diagnosing myself (as you do) and I wonder if I've got an infection or a hormonal imbalance.

I did try checking my cervix last cycle. Maybe I gave myself an infection?

But to be honest, hormones would make sense. My mood swings have been insane. I have had a few unstable days in the last month. I put it down to grief exacerbating my PMT because my original due date is close. I get terrible, terrible hormone related headaches too. I get them religiously before ovulation and period. I seem to get them more intensely now.

I don't know why I'm sharing really. I suppose to hear if anybody has had similar?

I've just checked and I've had spotting or a period for 11 out of the 15 days in my cycle so far this month.

Some says that spotting has been literally one spot of blood on a toilet tissue all day. Some are more like a little trickle of blood (sorry I couldn't think of how better to explain) and then nothing.

Hello @WildFlower2019 yes we were sorry to see you haven't had your BFP yet we not far apart in our cycles either, I'm 5dpo really hoping this is it 🙏🏻 normally after ovulation I get really sore/sensitive nipples and boobs but haven't had that this cycle, I got a positive OPK and had ovulation pain so I'm not too sure what's happened but will see if AF arrives at the end of the month

Peachyx2505 · 18/02/2019 12:57

Hi ladies! Not much going on here. AF should be buggering off in the next couple of days so then it'll be all systems go 😂

I've booked a night away for hubs and I over my fertile time.... it'll be good just to do something the two of us.
We haven't done something like that for a while.

Fingers crossed 🤞 ladies xx

ale2992 · 18/02/2019 12:50

@veeboo someone else has also told me that so I'm just going to see how I feel, I might test Friday so for the sake of it
