I am massively grateful for my gorgeous daughter who has just turned two but desperate for another. Fell first month with her (which I realise is not the norm) which makes it even more frustrating that it is taking a while this time!

I feel bad as I know lots of people (including my SIL) who would be so happy to just have one baby but at the same time it's a blow every month when AF arrives.
Anyone in same boat?

Age: 31
Cycle: 6
CD: 8

Congratulations @HeartvsHead lovely news. Good luck to all you other ladies.

BlodwynBludd · 03/03/2019 22:34

Excellent news. Congratulations

Explorers10 · 03/03/2019 19:46

Are those the one step cheap ones off amazon?

Really great news that you are pregnant!

My AF is due next week and I don't feel any different

HeartvsHead · 03/03/2019 18:14

No symptoms at all (but didn't with DD either). Was just using the cheap ones off Amazon.

Was my 6th cycle. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one and there are some more siblings for our first borns on the way soon!

congrats heart that's great news! was this cycle 7 for you?

Explorers10 · 03/03/2019 16:53

@heartvshead congratulations that’s amazing news! You must be so happy!!! Do you have any early symptoms? Which opks did you use?

HeartvsHead · 03/03/2019 16:34

Hello ladies. So little update...

I started using opks the day after my period finished this month and didn't get any hint of a line until last weekend. Then got my first strong positive on Monday which then stuck every day this week. After a bit of googling I read that opks can pick up the pregnancy hormone as well as LH so took a test this morning just in case and it was positive!

Sent hubby out for a digital and confirmed pregnant and 2-3 weeks since conception. Madness!

@coffeeandcake1 i know what you mean about 2019. The thought of rolling over to 2020 is depressing. I had a chemical back in Sept and nothing since (though as I say think I may have been ovulating later than I thought).

Best of luck all xx

Hi, Im trying for baby no 2. Im on cycle 4 and CD 13 so in the dreaded TWW. Ive had some chemical pregnancies so its been a real rollercoaster so far. We really wanted a 2019 baby so am really hoping this month is the month. Have been googling how early you can poas and get a bfp!

HeartvsHead · 28/02/2019 15:51

@TalkingIntoTheEther glad the b vits seem to be helping but the eye twice doesn't sound fun! It's so hard not to worry about things and relax. Just got to keep dtd and hoping for the best is what I've decided.

I had a positive opk on Monday, Tuesday and Yesterday so now just entering the waiting game. Interestingly it was CD27 I got my first positive so ovulating quite late (34-38day is my cycle range) and may have actually been missing it last few months.

How is everyone else?

TalkingIntoTheEther · 28/02/2019 11:28

I decided to lay off the OPKs this month and attempt to be more relaxed about it, unfortunately i had a fertility workup and my FSH came back at "borderline" 9.3, so any attempts to relax about TTC have gone straight out the winder and been replaced with obsessively googling all day and night.

On the plus side i think taking the b vitamins lengthened my luteal phase by 2 days, however i had to drop down from 100 complex to 50 compelx as a developed a really weird twitch in one eye!

HeartvsHead · 21/02/2019 21:23

This is my first month using them and not had anything on them yet but from what I gather you are best off doing then early afternoon and same sort of time each day. I've read some people get nothing on them at all depiste ovulation, just don't work for some people.

Happy for any further advice. I'm a newbie!

How do opks work? I've had a go with some cheap ones before and never get any results. That's not to say they aren't working. But is there a best way to use them?

Explorers10 · 21/02/2019 13:12

I’m just coming into fertile week too. Opks are saying not fertile but fingers crossed tomorrow I get a smiley face on the clearblue opk

BlodwynBludd · 21/02/2019 06:33

Fingers crossed this is the lucky month for you heart. My ds has been poorly so haven't had a chance to test for ovulation this month let alone dtd! I don't think I've missed my fertile window yet though. Had reflexology which was lovely. I felt amazing after. The most relaxed I've been in a long time. Don't know what it's done for my fertility but I am definitely going back!

HeartvsHead · 20/02/2019 22:05

How is everyone doing? I'm just coming to fertile window (I think). Got nothing on opks yet though.

Evening all, also trying for baby no2. DD has turned 2 this month. Have been trying for baby no2 for nearly a year now. DD took 7 months so i guess I just take agesssss to fall pregnant :( Its hard going every month.

Age: 26
Cycle: 11

Also according to app I'm in the fertile window and have spotting, this has never happened before so intrested to see if it will happen this month.

Explorers10 · 15/02/2019 20:38

@heartvshead

I know it’s so hard. I think though from next month if I don’t get pregnant this month I’m going to try and be more chilled. My DH doesn’t want a Xmas or winter baby so not going to dtd as often over the next few months. Plus I’m hoping with spring and summer on it’s way there be more stuff and places to go which will keep me preoccupied without thinking about TTC

HeartvsHead · 15/02/2019 20:02

@Explorers10 tell me about it. Between waiting for ov then the tww I feel like I'm always half watching the days go by!

Explorers10 · 14/02/2019 09:51

It’s reassuring that we are not alone with TTC number 2. I will try to relax about damage and keep trying. I’m only on CD5 and really want to start trying again. The wait seems so long!

HeartvsHead · 14/02/2019 08:12

@MonkeyToucher I had a c-section so the scaring to the uterus can be an issue but agree with natural delivery it shouldn't be an issue.

OP posts:
MonkeyToucher · 14/02/2019 08:04

For those worried about a traumatic first birth causing problems conceiving a second, I really wouldn’t worry about this! The “damage” is to your vagina not your uterus or ovaries! I had 2 second degree tears, failed ventouse and emergency forceps followed by a massive haemorage - conceived dc2 first month trying (dc1 took 15 months but that’s another story!)

HeartvsHead · 14/02/2019 01:02

@BlodwynBludd I think they do them at the centre's where you get the early scans and 4d scans done.

I'd be interested to hear how you find the reflexology. A friend of mine when to an acupuncture guy near us who is a fertility specialist which I'm tempted to try.

This is my last month of trying before a break. DDs birthday is just before Chrismas (23rd) so DH is keen to avoid another right near Christmas!

OP posts:
BlodwynBludd · 13/02/2019 20:24

Thanks Heart, I would have a scan done to check but I have no idea how to arrange one. I'm starting reflexology for fertility this weekend. So fingers crossed. Talking o know what you mean, I spend a week a month POAS. Fingers crossed this is your month.

TalkingIntoTheEther · 13/02/2019 18:33

Hi everyone,

similar picture here, fell pregnant with DD first cycle and presumed it would be just as easy second time round, like some of you im worried that some damage was done during labour (kielland forceps delivery), or perhaps my hormones are just out of whack now. I used to have regular, 32ish day cycles with no spotting, now my cycles are 23-27 days with spotting from 8DPO, I stopped breast feeding well over a year ago so doesn't feel like they are going to regulate any time soon.

This month I started taking a b vitamin complex to see if it helped, Im 8DPO today and no spotting so far so crossing my fingers that something positive is going on!

I tested today with a IC and got a BFN, trying to convince myself Im not out yet but not particularly confident as haven't really got any symptoms at all. AF due in 4 days so no doubt will have POAS about a million times by then anyway.
