TTC 1st baby

Hi, hope it’s ok to post this here....I’ve been on the pill since I was 17, I’m not 31, I stopped taking the pill at the end of October and had a period on 5th December and again 5th January....we decided to stop using any protection from the beginning of January, was thinking I should have had my period on 5th Feb but nothing....I’m now 10 days late but have taken 4 tests, last one being this morning and they have all come back negative?! Has anyone experienced anything similar? Or can anyone shed any light?!? Thanks!

@Tchelsea this is my 'fertile period' so not in the TWW yet, but will be soon. Will need to start thinking of distraction techniques haha!

@joylondon I'm feeling a lot better thanks, haven't been as stressed about everything this month. I hope your IBS isn't too bad, I don't have it but have heard that it can be a nightmare

I’ve had cramps for days and diarrhea today haha- definitely just ibs playing up! At least my swollen glands are a bit better. 🙄I’m a disaster. Roll on 6DPO tomorrow.

@joy it was a first response. But the truth will out tomorrow. AF due, so far no spots like I normally get, but who knows. I don't want to keep testing!

Just been in the hospital for the second time in two days, broken toes from someone in heals standing on my foot in Satuday night. With all the pain killers it might be just as well to be honest.

@Goodyear2019 @ImMeantToBeWorking I know! I'm only 3DPO... AF due on 20th or before. Pretty sure I already have PMS.
The dr says I have a virus- hence the swollen glands and feeling rough. 😑

@joylondon the TWW is horrible isn't it, I always find myself wishing the time away!
I'm just approaching my fertile period then I'll be playing the waiting game to.

I'm feeling quite disheartened already, this will be cycle #8 for me. I've been feeling a bit under the weather with a cold the last few days so that's probably not helping my mood.

We I am out. Due AF Thursday, took a FR test today and not even a glimmer of hope. I am not surprised as I am literally just off the pill, but I was still holding a bit of hope! Ah well, on to the next cycle!

I got a smiley on the clear blue OPK today, it felt like a victory haha. It's CD 20 which is pretty late... I probably won't ovulate until tomorrow or the next day, and then the wait begins.

@ImMeantToBeWorking have a look at infertracker too. I been using that for the past month now, using my previous thermometer alongside it and the readings are pretty much spot on. The app is only good for the chart, but yeah, it is a good investment I reckon

@Caramel Thanks for that - that's what I am hoping will happen! I got one recommended on here so fingers crossed. I keep forgetting in the morning, just need to unbox it and put it beside my folic acid as I remember to take that!

@ImMeantToBeWorking i found BBT very handy after I had the mirena coil out, at first the lines were quite erratic then after 3 months it got a lot more steady. It's great for getting a more accurate ovulation date (the spike in temp that happens after you have) and whether the temperature stays up which helps show pregnancy. Make sure to get a decent Thermometer though.

OPKs are super handy for knowing when to dtd too 😉

In a similar boat to you all. We are TTC our first baby. My AF arrived today - 2 days late! I'd also convinced myself I was pregnant but got negatives three times. I wasn't really prepared for how rubbish it is to see negative but I know I shouldn't complain because it was only cycle 1. Onto cycle 2 it is!

@joy I suppose it makes sense for you to use them. I will see how the temping goes for a bit. My friend who has to go IVF has offered my OPKs but I have turned them down for now. But I might take her up on that offer in a few months. Will see how it goes.

@ImMeantToBeWorking I wasn't going to start either haha. My friend just got pregnant and gave me her left over OPK's! I've been curious about my ovulation date anyhow so maybe this will shed some light. I know my temp does rise... so in theory that should mark ovulation. Just a bit uneasy about it being so late in my cycle. I've read that it's harder for implantation if the luteal phase is short.

I said I wouldn't start temping or using OPKs yet, but I could not help myself. I think the temping will be handy so I know when my cycle is back to normal after being on the pill. I am not going to do OPKs yet.

@goodyear you never know, the stress might be preventing it, it may just happen on its own.

My grandparents started trying after they got married but a few years later there was still no sign so they were the adoption route. a few years later nana fell pregnant naturally and they went on to have two children of their own. She swears it was the pressure to have kids that stopped her at first.

@joy see that's the thing, the apps say when the majority of women should ovulate, but obviously some of us are the exception to the rule. Are you using OPKs long?

I'm on day CD18 and the clue app says I should be ovulating today... but natural cycles says I'll ovulate on CD22! So late in my cycle 😩
I did an OPK this am and it was negative... so reckon I'll just do one every day until AF 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
