Period 4 Days Late, Negative FRER

Morning all,

I have a 31 day cycle on average, longest cycle ever was 33 days but I’m now on day 35 and since we started TTC this month, I took an FRER this morning but it’s 100% bfn (photo attached)

I have no pregnancy symptoms at all but no incoming period symptoms either which is weird because usually even if I’m a day late I feel bloated and uncomfortable.

If it helps anything I’m 28, we’re TTC for the first time and I’ve never been pregnant before so have no idea what I’m doing Blush

What’s happening? Could I be pregnant despite the BFN or (as I suspect) is it late enough in my cycle for a FRER to pick it up if I was pregnant?

Hi there,
My period normally comes on 26th every month. And now I am 4 days late. I been really tired, my leg aching and having slight cramps and abit nauseous. I tested myself yesterday but it was negative.

Can someone help me please.

@Trinnidad it's so confusing, I'd rather know one way or the other!

I've not had any symptoms of AF coming which I do normally get, I've normally got bad cramping for a day or two before it comes.

As for pregnancy, I've not had many symptoms either, apart from Friday when I woke up with a horrible metallic taste in my mouth that wouldn't go away! It was gone today though. Other than that I've had a lot of fatigue and been needing to pee a lot more.

I took a FRER early test on Tuesday and it was negative, took a Clearblue one on Wednesday then held off until this morning and took a Clearblue and a cheapie test and both were negative.

I'm not sure when I ovulated because we've not been tracking too closely other than the occasional OPK or the Ovia app, we've been trying for 4/5 months now though so I ordered some Clearblue ovulation tests earlier and so will start tracking this cycle.

I'm still trying to stay positive and hope I get a positive but I'm thinking that surely it's unlikely when I'm still getting BFN tests!

I've got my fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP and AF stays away! 😁

@HannahW29 Hi! My AF was due Thurs too and hasn't shown up yet. Normally I get a sore lower back night before but no sign yet. I've been having dull aches off and on in my lower left abdomen, first at 9dpo then 12dpo (when I got a -ve test) and it's continued off and on since 14dpo. It's very like the ovulation pain I normally get.

I'm sure I'm just symptom spotting like crazy, but I've not had any other symptoms really.

Anyone else got experience of this - good sign? Could-mean-anything sign?

OP I misread one of your msgs that had the faint positive that is prob an evap line. Apologies for suggesting chemical, only speaking from experience xx

@physickate - having read your msg I went back and re-read OP msgs and realised I thought she had a faint positive before light bleed hence why I suggested a chemical!!

Were you on any kind of birth control before TTC?
That could be the reason your period is unusual! X

Or an anovulatory cycle (totally normal every once in awhile).

Sorry, but in the absence of a positive test, I think it's pretty insensitive and irresponsible to suggest chemical pregnancy as there is no evidence for it.

Hey, my period came eventually and finished yesterday in the end.

It was a weird period though, long and heavier than normal!

I'm in the same situation just now, my period was due on Thursday, it's now Saturday and I've tested again but definitely negative.

Ok,

So i think AF arrived yesterday in the form of super light brown spotting.

Brown spotting is slightly more today but still extremely light.

I’m normally 4 tampons in by lunchtime on the first day of my period so this is really not normal for me at all.

Wtf is going on?? Last day I could have possibly gotten pregnant was 8th Jan so I’m absolutely not pregnant, but my cycle seems all kinds of messed up and I’m a bit freaked.

I keep thinking I’ve developed some kind of reproductive abnormality in the same month we start ttc.. I’m not that unlucky surely?

Do some women just not get properly strong pregnancy tests early on? I don’t feel pregnant, but I do feel bone tired and today after lunch I felt nauseous.

I’m 10 days late and my last period was 18/12/18 I’ve taken around 12 pregnancy tests and all have came back with a very faint line! But the lines are not getting any darker 😭 Was at the doctors today and he couldn’t tell from my tests of positive or not so took a blood test! I need to wait until Tuesday for the results. The suspense is killing me!

If anyone was planning to pick up pregnancy tests from Sainsbury’s at Manchester piccadilly this morning, apologies because I’ve cleared them out Grin

They are blue dye tests but I’m 5 days late according to ovia and 2 days late according to Flo, so hopefully something will pick up if there’s anything there.

I can’t be pregnant, we only dtd once in my fertile window this time because I was away, so it would mean I was pregnant the first time I ever had unprotected sex Hmm Argh.

There’s no evap line on the test now, there’s no line at all so it was either something or nothing Confused

STILL no AF, it was supposed to start on Tuesday and I normally have 4 days of bleeding, so I’ve officially skipped a period at this point.

If I’m not pregnant, it’s a pretty cruel trick my body is playing to delay my period so much on the very first cycle ever that could result in a pregnancy Hmm

I don't actually know a lot about evap lines, I just know I can faintly see something! You could either grab another test in the next few days or just wait and see if AF shows up?

You gotta remember though sperm survives up to 5 days I think so could of been way later than when you last dtd it happened x

Could have ovulated late for sure. Ovia reckons I ovulated on 9th Jan and we last dtd on the 8th (I’ve been away with work), but if that was the latest I could have gotten pregnant surely the line would be stronger?

It’s 5 weeks on Saturday since the start of my last period.

I’d written this cycle off to be honest, I’m still fairly sure I’m 4 days late though so I’ll wait a few more days and if AF doesn’t turn up I’ll retest. Is 10 mins long enough for an evap line?
