Hi nh101 - you are on the same 'drugs' as me. I had provera (progesterone) followed by clomifene - which is the same as clomid. The consultant nurse told me to wait until the beginning of August as I had a period in June and she wanted to be sure that I wouldn't have another 'natural' one before I started the provera - that was painful, knowing that I had the pills but wasn't allowed to take them!!! But here we are, provera taken, period come, clomifene taken, period gone ... bring on the ovulation

Well, welcome to clomid, nh101. Sounds good news to me. I also had to wait 6 months before they would do anything.

Hi guys, haven't been able to catch up with everyone cos well busy at work, but just thought I'd pop by to let you know I will be joining you in just over a week.

It has been ten weeks and two days since my last period so I went to see a consultant and he has put me on Clomid. I have to take progesterone first to make my period come and then I am there!

I had a mc in March and have had just one proper period since then so my attempts at ttc'ing have been frustrating to say the least!

Hope everyone is doing well. Nothing to report here. On CD11 so it is BDing time. DH goes away today for a couple of days, though.

Am doing well here. Bean is over 20 weeks now and anomoly scan went well with everything ok. Bean is a little boy. I hope to see bfps for you soon. I am very blessed and am aware of that having had to take the clomid route. xxx

lulu That's a lovely idea with the plant, a friend of mine did the same with for s childhood friend who had died years ago, she had a photo that she'd kept, but had finally reached the point of letting go and buried the photo in the plant pot. She says it reminds her of her friend, but in a positive way, whereas the photo always made her sad. HTH
I'm back at cd1 now, start 2nd clomid cycle tomorrow. Off to bed now.

Hope you are OK today. I can't imagine how you feel, but I like the idea of buying a nice plant. I think you just need to what works for you and hang everyone else.

Flosspot - hope you get some answers soon. This whole process has really brought it home to me how much treatment varies, not only area to area but gp to gp! It's ridiculous. Good luck.

Thanks, Floss. Actually feel OK. I have decided I need to let go and look forward so I bought a lovely plant on the weekend and DH and I are going to plant it today and bury the scan picture with it. Does that sound wierd? DH was so lovely about it (I was a bit embarrassed when I told him).

I hope you do get some answers! I just called my consultant and have booked myself in for mid-Sept to get things rolling for the next stage. He gets so booked up, so I thought I should book myself in. It will be towards the end of my last clomid cycle.

Tiger- From what I understand they will do the scan to see if you have been hyperstimulated (producing more than 1 egg) and to check on the endemitriol lining. They normally scan just before they think you are going to OV. I was also worried because of timing I had to have the scan on CD17 and so I did have sex anyway. For me it was OK as I only produced one egg, but it didn't work in the end. Why don't you call your doc just to make sure what they want you to do...

Today is a bit of a wierd day as it was 1 year ago today that I found out I was pregnant. Can't believe how long ago.

Lulu CD9 5th cycle clomid TTC #1 (MMC Oct)

Hi ladies. Sorry to hear some of you are a bit low.
I'm on CD5 (seems strange to be in single figures!) and, so far, so good. Not had any major side effects yet. Felt a bit sicky on Friday, cd2, but the Clomid doesn't seem to be disagreeing with me at the moment.
I've got to go for a scan a week tomorrow. That will be cd13. Does that mean that that is when they expect me to ov? I know it is to check that the Clomid is stimulating me ovaries enough, but not too much, so should I avoid sex until then, just in case, or are we OK to go whenever? Don't want to risk getting pg with six!! Not likely I know but would be my sodding luck

Hi Nomore- my cycles were 25 days then 28 days then 29 days then 28 days. From what I undestand pills CD2-6 ov CD11-15 and AF 14 days after that. Hope that helps.

I know it's probably been asked before but can anyone tell me when I might expect AF when on Clomid? Cycles were regular (29-31 days) before Clomid apart from the most recent one before this cycle which was 18 days. Am guessing 14 days after ov, which according to the info leaflet with the tablets is 6-10 days after last tablet so:
tablets day 2-6, ov day 12-16, af day 26-30 Is this right?

Hey Lulu... You may have a point there though. When I had my initial scans my womb lining was 11mm but clomid has caused it to be only 4mm... My doctor said she'd like it to be at 8mm in order for IUI to work, although she would have done it if I had wanted but she was convinced it would be futile.

I'd say it is worth asking your doctor and if your lining is significantly under 8mm then ask to be swapped to the injections (I can't remember the name of the drug though??).

Becky, I'm sorry to hear that, but it sounds like the good news is they caught it quickly and are taking action. I'm very interested in this because I have concerns that clomid has thinned my lining too- I only have 1 day AF on it and when I expressed my concern my consultant said it didn't matter. I did have a scan the first month and he said all was fine, but I only remember him looking at the follicle/ egg, not the lining. But then I could just be paranoid!

This is my first cycle using clomid and I've just had a scan showing that it has thinned my womb lining too much for the doctor to be happy performing an IUI, so I have to switch to the injections for my next cycle. Apparently I had produced a nice big egg though... Which I feel strangley sad about loosing :-(
