Hi all! My husband and I have decided to start trying, I’m 24 and this is our first time! How long did it take for everyone? I understand it’s different for every person but I love hearing people’s stories!

2 months age 38
1 month age 41

I got pregnant on my 25th birthday, the one time we didn't use protection. We were very lucky to not have to try, but we have form, as my second and third pregnancies were also only timers. Wishing you as much luck.

Honestly I thought it would take months but on our wedding night baby was made first time (we had a lot of travelling after so we didn't really get another chance until a few days later and we didn't have unprotected sex before the wedding)!! I'm 29 so age didn't make much of a difference. Just use the app to track your periods and days for ovulation like I did, then when you're ready try to hit the dates! Ha sounds ridiculous byt I also hear men who eat peas help with sperm count so I fed him lots of peas and spinach before!! 😂 It's all you can do but it's damn well fun 👍🏻😉 good luck xx

18 months of trying and one miscarriage after around 6 months

InDreamland · 02/01/2019 22:14

5 years TTC but ended in miscarriage. Then fell pregnant again 4 months later that also ended in miscarriage. Still waiting for my first baby.

SallyWD · 02/01/2019 21:53

I was 35. It happened first attempt.

MyBabyBoyBlue · 02/01/2019 21:46

6th cycle for me.

Dlah · 02/01/2019 21:41

DD1 - 5 months after 14 years on pill, 28 at the time.

came off pill end of November ready to TTC in March but still no period, I'm just hoping the odds are in our favour now at 31

MrsC87 · 02/01/2019 18:57

4th Cycle and I'm now 11w 5 days pregnant.
Praying scan on Monday goes well!

Ragaroo · 02/01/2019 17:04

1st, accident, miscarried (twins) 11 weeks. 2nd, trying, about 2 mins, now a 3.5yo DS. 3rd, accident, miscarried 6 weeks. 4th, trying, about 2 mins, now 22 weeks pregnant with DD. I'm very lucky in terms of fertility, but slightly less lucky in terms of the 1 in 4 pregnancy ends in mc statistic as my "accidents" were happy surprises. None the less I'm very grateful and hope those of you struggling with conceiving have luck in 2019

2 years from age 40, started using ovulation kit 2 months prior to conception to help pinpoint best time x

Ginfizplease · 02/01/2019 16:21

2 years and IVF for first.

I don't think people who say they they didn't have to try and realise how lucky they are often don't actually realise how lucky that is. So many take it for granted.

SPARKS17 · 02/01/2019 16:20

First month, on the pill for 18 years, aged 34. It was a complete shock, my parents had fertility problems and I had expected to be trying for years.

It’s the one thing in life where you just never know until you try!

IggyAce · 02/01/2019 16:15

With dc1 it was first month of trying. Dc2 was around 6-8mths.

Soontobe60 · 02/01/2019 16:13

2 years with first DD aged 24 when I conceived
1 month with second DD (different father) aged 33 when I conceived.

schnubbins · 02/01/2019 16:11

First one at 32 years first month trying
Second one at 34 years not really even trying but first time without contraception.
Third one at 39 years in the month between changing coil from copper to Mirena.
We never really had to try and realise how lucky we were.

milliejones25x · 02/01/2019 16:08

I married my DH three months after I turned twenty and fell pregnant on the honeymoon (first time without protection), my DS was born on my birthday.
My DD was conceived first time we decided to try as well.
My other DD was conceived when we had an award ceremony for DH's work and we both had a little bit too much to drink! Wink She wasn't planned but I wouldn't change my three for the world! Grin

ButtMuncher · 02/01/2019 16:01

First attempt, quite literally Blush

Phenomenally lucky.

2019Reasons · 02/01/2019 15:58

DC1 (27) - first month of trying. Didn’t expect it to happen so quickly after a decade of being very careful and trying NOT to get pregnant.

2nd pregnancy (29) - 2nd month of trying, but had a miscarriage.

3rd pregnancy (30) - 2nd month of trying.

4th (36) - accident! Grin

eurochick · 02/01/2019 15:58

Three years and four rounds of ivf. No cause found.

MummaGiles · 02/01/2019 15:55

DC1 - 5 cycles
DC2 (still cooking) - 1 cycle

Have been very lucky

workinprogressmum · 02/01/2019 15:53

16 months with DS but it took 5 months to have a period after being on the pill around ten years. I was 25.

Belindabauer · 02/01/2019 15:51

19 months.

BillyAndTheSillies · 02/01/2019 15:49

DC1, third month (26)
DC2, currently trying and in the second cycle (30).

LaPufalina · 02/01/2019 15:24

Second proper cycle after coming off the pill for DC1 aged almost 37, first cycle for DC2 (currently dozing on me!) age 38. Very very lucky Smile
