@Outwards how are you getting on?

fabmaz · 01/01/2019 19:20

Hi all,

I'd like to join too - moved into our house now so settled enough I think :) not long come off pill so our thoughts are to just go with the flow for a bit and see how we get on. I'm 28 and this will be our first time ttc.

hodgeheg92 · 01/01/2019 19:16

Hey everyone, I'd like to join you (I think!)

I'm 26, have an almost 1yo DD and we're starting TTC this month. We're both certain we want another baby and a small gap although probably 60\40 for trying now vs waiting. Although I'm very scared about the prospect of 2 under 2 and finances, I think life's too short to wait and I'd regret not trying more than I will having another baby. And DH is more than happy to ditch the condoms of course Grin

With #1 I just came off the pill, DTD lots and then I was pregnant, without a period or any tracking so there's definitely a possibility for those of you who've come off hormonal contraception.

I want to just be pregnant now so I can stop dithering about whether now is the right time or not. AF is due 9th Jan so fingers crossed.

Baby dust to you all

I'm spotting today so I think Dec didn't work out for us. I don't think it's implantation bleeding. It's brown rather than red and i feel crampy like I usually do before my period. It's 4 days early so I had another short cycle.

LFH1990 · 01/01/2019 16:51

Hi everyone! Also quite new to the whole Mumsnet thing but my husband and I will be starting TTC early in the new year (need to get keys to our new house first). Had loads of problems with heavy bleeding between periods last year but eventually found a polyp which was removed in Oct so hopefully everything will be settling down now.

Trying not to be mental about TTC but really excited, hoping everything will go smoothly!

T2710 · 01/01/2019 16:31

Hi all
We're going to start TTC this month too. Currently on day 4 of my period and Flo predicts ovulation on 10th January, though also using ovulation strips. This will be #2, though #1 with my husband. Came off pill in October to let my body settle down and have been taking pregnacare since last month. Husband is taking the male version.
Lots of luck to everyone x

todaywasafairytale · 01/01/2019 14:54

I'm in! TTC #1, cycle #6. Hoping this is our month! 🤞🏻

ShortandSweet96 · 01/01/2019 14:39

Hello!

Ttc #1.
Currently using the flo app, should ovulate on the 11th of this month. Hopefully I'll get my bfp soon!

EssJayyCee · 01/01/2019 14:12

I chose the Baby Mad thermometer to see how I get on. It comes with 10 opks as well so that will help for near my O day. I hope it works to help me conceiving.

HELLO EVERYONE WHO HAS JOINED 👋🏼

Recap on me:
26 years old.
TTC #1 from March 2019 (after my holiday)
I suffer from irregular cycles, that range from 18-64 days due to cysts on one of my ovaries.

CD8

I am going to start temping as soon as my thermometer comes and I will use opks. I am already taking folic acid. Do you think I should take vitamin D too?

APositiveMind · 01/01/2019 14:02

@proudmummy88.
I know how the stressing feels! Once ttc is in your head it is so hard to try and relax and not think about it!
Like before ttc we had measures place to stop pregnancy, and now we want it it's so weird to not be using any contraceptive method at all!

It's strange to look at my period tracking (now ovulation tracking) app and feel excited to see the littkwmovulation symbol and aim for it!

iano · 01/01/2019 13:49

@Littlegoth I'm sorry for your losses! I hope 2019 will be more happy for you

Littlegoth · 01/01/2019 13:20

Please can I join? Hoping for 3rd time lucky after 2 miscarriages in 2018 (second currently ongoing). Waited 6 months after mc1 and got bfp on first cycle. Not planning on waiting this time so dosing on the folic acid and vitamin D - any tips for success will be duly noted x

Proudmummy88 · 01/01/2019 13:17

Hi there. Hope it’s ok to join this thread. Never posted before but love reading everyone’s threads, stories and journeys.
My husband and I are ttc our first baby together. I have 3 children to my previous partner. I came off Cerazette 14th December, had my withdrawal 16th for 6days and started light bleeding tester after 4 days of bad cramps and headaches. I was convinced I was pregnant already (I know a bit delusional!), oh well, always next month etc. I thought it would take me a while to even start bleeding but it could also take a while for a BFP. Good luck to everyone on here hoping for positives this year. I cannot wait. This baby is very much wanted but also trying to relax and just not stress about it. But as we all know that is way easier said than done!!!

APositiveMind · 01/01/2019 11:57

@ttc12019
Health is the main priority definitely!
Happy cycles to everyone here! Flowers

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:51

@APositiveMind
We're nearly cycle twins, am predicted to O on the 11th.
I've downloaded the Maybe Baby app after seeing it on Luisa Zissman's insta but it's £4.99.
Don't think there's any actual science behind it but it's worth a try if you're biased towards wanting a boy or a girl. Either way, a healthy baby is what we all want 😊
Good luck 🤞

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:48

Hi @Choo89 , @APositiveMind & @Hbs21 👋🏽

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 11:47

@EssJayyCee
I bought mine a few months ago although I only started using it seriously in the last week.
I would just get a cheapo one for now. Get used to doing it and stuff and then if it doesn't work for you maybe get a proper one?
I try and temp around same time as well.

Hbs21 · 01/01/2019 11:24

Hi everyone!

I'm new to this site and wondered if I was okay to join the thread.

Currently on my first month ttc baby number 1 and I never realised how confusing the whole process can be lol. Trying so hard to not get to impatient and worried about the whole thing but can't help it!!

APositiveMind · 01/01/2019 10:23

Good morning! Hoping to join here ladies.
Ttc #1
Cycle day 9. Predicted ovulationon the 12th of Jan! I dispose waiting to ovulafe and then having to do the tww aswell!

I downloaded another tracking app this morning, found one that tells me when in my fertile period of be more likely to have a boy or girl. Does anybody know if there is any science behind that kind of thing?!

Choo89 · 01/01/2019 10:15

Hello!

Hope it’s ok if I join! TTC first baby! Came off the combined pill at the end of November, had a withdrawal bleed then had my first period on Christmas night after a 27 day cycle. I got a strong positive opk on day 17 Confused wasn’t really trying then, just trying to get a handle on what’s going on after 10+ years on the pill.

Using apps and opk sticks to track.

So currently on CD7 and excited and hopeful for the new year Wink

EssJayyCee · 01/01/2019 10:07

@ttc12019 yeah there are loads! I don't want to spend much either but the reviews of some of the cheaper ones all say they needed new ones within a couple of months or whatever so I wasn't sure if ij should spend a bit more on one that shouldn't break.

But I think I am just going to get a cheap one. I might not get on with temping so there is no point spending too much.

I use Clue as well alongside Glow because I use Opks and Glow has a camera thing to help you determine if they are positive or negative.

My cycles are so irregular so none of the apps are in sync with my body because there is just no way of knowing when AF is coming or not. So I wanted to try and chart to see if I could see any kind of pattern with ovulation alongside other symptoms and signs.

It's so complicated this whole TTC thing.
I remember growing up thinking it could just happen through unprotected sex! I didn't realise how much timing played a huge part until now!

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 10:06

@PyjamasForever
Good to know! We won't be telling either side I think. I'll just feel pressured 🤭
My IL are very supportive and absolutely love kids but my side are a bit funny and they'll be more bothered about expenses, the house and me being off work which will stress me out as we have been discussing this for so long. I've managed to save quite a lot in the last year so I just want to be able to enjoy this and finally try for a baby.

ttc12019 · 01/01/2019 09:53

@EssJayyCee
There are so many out there! Depends how much you want to spend. I didn't want to spend much as I'm doing BBT as an extra along with 2 cycle tracking apps - Clue & Maybe Baby. So I got a cheap one from Amazon. Both apps are currently in sync for me and predicting the same FW & O days.
Complete novice at this as it's only cycle 1 for me but am generally a thorough person
😅 so trying to cover all bases. Haven't gotten into OPKs yet though 😆

PyjamasForever · 01/01/2019 09:51

@ttc12019 I'm keeping TTC a secret to my side of the family (who feel one child is enough) but being very open with my closest friends and my ILs who absolutely adore children and can't understand why DH and I have waited so long to have a second.

EssJayyCee · 01/01/2019 09:39

Just a quick question for those of you temping. How did you choose a thermometer?
There are so many out there and they all have good and bad reviews and I can't choose one!!
