Had a withdrawal bleed when my coil came out last week, but having another bleed today and not sure if it's withdrawal or period. Will probably mean it's not worth testing until Feb now!

So hard to know what to expect after years of contraception!

Outwards · 04/01/2019 16:24

How's everyone doing today?

I'm around 13dpo now, feeling exactly as I do just before AF so I know I'm out.

Just had a conversation with DH about deciding whether to continue trying or not. It's just such a roller-coaster and life has been on hold for too long. Sorry to rant!

Massive luck to everyone else, I want to see lots of BFPs!

x

@Peaky1 it really is so nice to read about everyone since I can't discuss it with anyone in person! FX for a "busy" FW for you 😜

@Farhana170 yep I just hang around loads of threads at once 😂 makes me feel a bit better when I'm going crazy and I read that you all are too... no offence!🙃

@Outwards ohhh yes all the symptom spotting. I've been nauseous, headache, backache... you name it! My chart looks good though - temp dip 8 DPO then risen sharply since so fx it's a good sign. I tested today (Thursday at 10 DPO on a FRER) and it was negative.

@KernowBee yes I've seen lots of announcements on FB and I really am happy for everyone but I can't wait for my own baby too so it's hard!

KernowBee · 03/01/2019 21:46

Hi all!

Welcome to everyone new to the thread & happy new year. Sorry I've been quiet. Been quite poorly so laid low for a few days!

Currently in my "fertile" window but I've misplaced my thermometer and can't find it for the life of me. Grr! The last time I did temp 2 days ago, it was on the rise for O so I've been making sure every day is covered. Even asked the OH to wake me up when he came to bed for it haha! Determined!

It is exhausting covering each day of my fertile window every month and still not being lucky a year into this. Sex is starting to feel like a chore.

Currently cycle day 16, but typically all 4 apps have different predicted O days!

Also is it just me, or is countless people you know suddenly pregnant?! Bah humbug, or is that too late lol?

Hey all, hubby and I are TTC #2. DD is 1. Over Christmas I got my first period since DD was born - a breastfeeding Mum. I planned to wean DD off completely for my cycle to return. This week DD has been bf more due to teething. Will this impact my fertility?

Farhana170 · 03/01/2019 19:52

@choo89 @outwards @pyjamasforever I plan to dtd every other day next month if I'm out this month.

iano · 03/01/2019 19:50

@Outwards ohhhh well that might be you're body telling your something!!
Crossing my fingers for you. I hope it's aBFP on Sunday. Not long to go. I'm tempted to test but I think just getting my period might be less upsetting for some reason... i don't know why I feel like that.

@Choo89 I've tried for my November cycle. We weren't trying then but I wanted to get my head around it. I found I never really got a strong positive. I also kept forgetting which was pretty useless Blush

Which ones have you got?

PyjamasForever · 03/01/2019 19:27

@iano with my first I just knew too. Had a dream and woke up to go a pregnancy test that was months old at 4am. It was positive... what a surprise.

@choo89 I don't temp or use OPKs, we're just DTD every other day. If I'm not pregnant by the time we're exhausted then I might think about OPKs.

hodgeheg92 · 03/01/2019 19:13

@thosethreewords I had no choice but to just DTD lots cos I had no idea when I would be ovulating after being on the pill for so many years. I did start to worry though and spoke to my friend about feeling down about not knowing because I hadn't had a period. She reminded me that the other reason I wouldn't have a period would be if I was pregnant. I told her I wasn't (had POAS a fortnight or so previous) but she said I should test again. I did the next day and it was positive!

I'm feeling more nervous and planning more this time now I know my cycle but hoping that we weren't just crazy lucky last time and we are fertile.

@peaky1 I love the countdown Grin

Outwards · 03/01/2019 17:46

Hi @Choo89!

Lots of people swear by OPKs but they didn't work for me. I think I have a short LH surge so most months I never got a positive, but I'm definitely ovulating (confirmed by bloods).

In the end they stressed me out, and DH, and so we stuck to just DTD every 2-3 days from cycle day 7-20. Definitely covered then!

ttc12019 · 03/01/2019 17:39

@Peaky1 😂 I like the countdown! My DH is loving being jumped on 😂

ttc12019 · 03/01/2019 17:37

Hi @thosethreewords!
It got a bit too much for me on the other one, so I dipped into this thread. It became a bit overwhelming for me 😅
I would like to enjoy the journey more than anything, being able to share on here is great!

Choo89 · 03/01/2019 17:34

Lovely to read everyone’s experiences! When you don’t tell many people you are trying it can feel quite lonely!

Does anyone have experience with OPKs? I’m just wondering how useful they are. It seems that once you get a positive you should have already been DTD for quite a few days before that? So is it better to just DTD every 2nd day and not worry about sticks? I am very much a newbie to all of this, first month of really trying with hubs Blush

Outwards · 03/01/2019 15:46

Loving the spirit on here - I wish I'd joined months ago.

@iano I'm laughing - I really don't think you're craycray. Honestly, I thought I'd just know too, in a way I'm right so far because not once in 18 cycles have I thought I was. (Hoped, though, of course). And of course I'm going to jinx myself now - but I had a very, very vivid dream last night, I was singing a nursery rhyme to a newborn baby girl. And I feel oddish. Just oddish. But I'm not convinced and I'm not going to test again unless I'm late. Those BFNs are awful.

@thosethreewords yay, another at 10/11dpo, when are you planning on testing? Any symptom spotting?

In addition to the vitamins convo, I take folic acid, vit D, fish oils and generally eat very healthy. No caffeine but if I fancy a gin, I'll have one! When I first began TTC I'd be super careful every TWW but now I'm more relaxed.

Farhana170 · 03/01/2019 15:39

@thosethreewords I think I've seen you on another thread to and others lol

Peaky1 · 03/01/2019 15:23

Hehe hello @thosethreewords ! Yep, I like dipping into lots of threads. I'm a thread hussy 😆. I guess it's nice to read about everyone else in the same boat as you.
I've just been to boots and bought pregnacare for the first time. I already take vit d and cod liver oil so I think I'm sorted for vits for now!

CD4. T-2 days until my partner gets jumped

thosethreewords · 03/01/2019 12:37

Still reading the rest of the thread

@KernowBee thanks for starting this thread. I see you are using different apps! I'm only using FF but do really like it. What do you make of it compared to the others? I notice you said you are making an appt to see your GP - hope this goes well.

@Butterfliesandroses I will have to read Luisa Zissman's blog now as I've seen so many mentions now!

Hello @ttc12019 and @Peaky1 feel I've seen you lovelies on another thread!

@EssJayyCee Oh my god you saying about the dentist is the same as me - I've not been in probably 6 years. So bad 😂 ok you've made me get on the waiting list too. 😬😬

thosethreewords · 03/01/2019 12:28

Hello please can I join!
I'm already on some other threads but do love the support from all you lovely ladies.

28/ 30
TTC#1
Cycle 1
10 DPO today (confirmed by temping)
DTD 3 times in FW so FX for positive.
My cycles vary from 24-28 days so AF due anytime from tomorrow to Tuesday.

Symptom spotting - headache yday and today. Horrible taste in my mouth but I think that's from being thirsty ALL THE TIME.
I came off my mirena in December so I don't know what my "natural" AF is like really so all these "symptoms" may be premenstrual.

@Outwards @iano only one day behind you both! I'm going to wait until Sunday to test because I'm seeing my mum on Saturday and if I test before I see her and it's positive, I will have to tell her and I don't want to yet!

@fabmaz @LFH1990 Happy new homes! What an exciting new year ahead for both of you! FX for a new baby to add to 2019

@hodgeheg92 I really wish I could be as chilled as you were with TTC#1 and just DTD lots! I'm too type A though and just overplan and overthink everything 🙃

@T2710 I would love to get my DH on to taking vitamins but he's so forgetful with them!

@todaywasafairytale FX this is your month and 2019 is off to a lovely start for you

@EssJayyCee I'm taking pregnacare which does have vitamin D in it. It's recommended for pregnancy now as well as folic acid. I would start taking it anyway because the majority of the population are vitamin D deficient anyway!

iano · 03/01/2019 12:20

Yes. I woke up in the middle of the night and just knew. Sounds really weird! Promise I'm not craycray Wink

Outwards · 03/01/2019 11:55

Oh wow, was it just a concrete 'knowing?'

iano · 03/01/2019 11:38

Just super crampy. I had some brown spotting 2 days ago. It's stopped now though.
With my first I just knew I was pregnant and I don't feel the same now.

Outwards · 03/01/2019 07:52

I'm due 6th/7th too so it was a little early to test - I can never help myself.

But I just feel like I normally do, (boobs tender, bit moody etc) have you had any 'symptoms' at all? The next few days are mentally the toughest! Lots of luck to you, it's so nice not to be alone.

My friend had spotting and mammoth cramps before her BFP, so you never know.

iano · 02/01/2019 22:42

That's a shame! But maybe it's too early? Did you try a different test?

I'm also 10 dpo. Will do a test on 6th or 7th unless AF shows up proper before. I was spotting yesterday and am super crampy so I don't think it'll be long.

Outwards · 02/01/2019 21:03

Ah sorry previous random post!!

@iano I'm around 10dpo today. Usual PMS symptoms but took a test anyway, BFN :(

How about you?
