Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

Can I join?
Took my last pill on the 8th December.
Had a bleed, like I always did at the end of a pack and now just waiting to see what my cycle is.
🤞

@peaky297 I have been thinking the same myself. Changed from cerazette to microgynon because my moods were horrible on it but the microgynon was just as bad!! WIll definitely be looking into it more before I take another one.

Gem1188 · 02/01/2019 08:12

Happy New year everyone.

Fingers crossed for everyone Smile

peaky297 · 02/01/2019 07:28

Agreed @arewethereyet19 ... let's hope this year gives us all what we want!
As a side note, I'm 100% not going on microgynon again and would use different contraception next time it's needed. My moods are so much better, my skin is clearer and I have much more energy! Mad how one little pill can change you so much without you realising! Even DH has noticed I am happier in myself.

Happy New Year @Zoeox!

Fingers crossed for us all Smile

Happy new year everyone.
Hoping for some news between us this year then.

Arewethereyet19 · 01/01/2019 22:31

@Gem1188 that’s pretty much the stance we have taken. I have an app that I’m starting to track my cycles on but want it to still be fun with no pressure. Will see how long that lasts though haha!

Gem1188 · 01/01/2019 22:21

Hi @arewethereyet19

Thanks for this info.
I'm sure we will have plenty of fun trying 😊

Arewethereyet19 · 01/01/2019 22:01

Hi @Gem1188

I was pretty much the same as you and have been on various contraceptives since I was 16 ( 17 years), I had a withdrawal bleed and then a period 4 weeks later but when I spoke to my doctor about it they said everyone is different and not to worry if they don’t return straight away so try not to worry Smile it also doesn’t mean that you won’t still ovulate

Gem1188 · 01/01/2019 21:33

Hi all.

Does anyone mind if I join the group?

My other half and I have decided to TTC
I stopped taking cerezette on Nov 30. I have been on it for 12 months. Previously I had been on various combined pills for 15 years!
I am yet to have any show or period.

Roxybaby12 · 01/01/2019 01:24

Hi Miamoo007
It gets confusing all these abbreviations! So here are the main ones you might see;
DH-Darling Husband
DPO-days past ovulation
POAS-peeing on a stick
BFP-big fat positive
BFN-big fat negative
OPK-ovulation predictor Kit

Hope these help,
Xx

sallywinter · 31/12/2018 17:59

I came off the combined pill in June, had a withdrawal bleed and then nothing... Dr said it can take up to a year to get regular ovulation again, and no investigations would be done until then. I know I should have paid more attention to the leaflet but that definitely wasn’t pointed out at any of the check ups, even when I said during my last one that I wanted to begin trying within a year (I’m 31.) Just a warning! Have since had two but not regular yet....

MiaMoo007 · 31/12/2018 16:37

I've on a lot of conception/pregnancy threads lots of acronyms which, as a newbie, I have no idea what they mean. Things like DPO, POAS, BFP, BFN, OPK, etc...i know there is an acronym list on here but there seem to be quite a few that are used which are not on the list. It's sometimes difficult to understand what people are talking about! Haha. Anyone else the same? Or does anyone know what the conception/pregnancy acronyms stand for?!

Help a girl out...

whatsthecraic91 · 31/12/2018 10:34

@peaky297 I have been having weird dreams this week or sleeping very well! Although my body still thinks I’m in my pill free week so I don’t know if it’s connected? I think I’m just anxious about coming off so put my not sleeping and dreams down to that!

peaky297 · 31/12/2018 10:21

Morning ladies!

I have been taking the seven seas "trying for a baby" vitamins,.which contain all the folic acid needed, plus vitamin d and extras. It was £8 for 2 months supply on Amazon prime. It is also to be taken for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, but like many others on here I decided to start taking it now... no harm in being cautious eh?

As an aside to this, has anyone else been having really weird dreams since coming off the pill? I used to dream occasionally, but recently it's been every night!

Mia start taking folic acid now, ideally you would take it for 3 months before you conceive.

sunshineandrain27 · 31/12/2018 08:50

Hello ladies

New to mumsnet but been trying to google everything you're all chatting about. Got married 6 months ago so came off the pill (Yasmin) and had a bleed straight after.
Had been on the pill for over ten years including Dianette.

Took a years break within that ten years just to have a break and never got a period so worried about how long it'll take for my period to come back this time as it's already been five months.

Although I have been taking ovulation tests so I know I've definitely ovulated twice in the last five months, just difficult tracking without taking tests daily!

Heard so many different experiences and the most popular advice is to have sex every other day to make sure...not sure we're at that stage yet to put so much pressure on.

It's been great reading everyone's experiences and hope we can all share good news for 2019

Hi Girls posted this on another thread but I've just bought the supplements that Luisa Zissman used and recommends and there's some great reviews cost me £50 in total from amazon for a months supply I'm going to give them a whirl, here they are incase anyone else wants to have a look

Dlah · 30/12/2018 22:27

Hey ladies,

Took my last Zelletta pill (the cheap Cerazette!) on 30th November, 1 month later I've had nothing - no withdrawal bleed, not a hint and no sex Grin lol (busy month knackered at work!)

We get married in March so I wanted time off the pill to get cycles back, we'll actively TTC from start of March.

This will be No 2, worries me though as I'm overweight and will be nearly 32. Took us 5 months of active trying for No 1, this time we both agreed we don't want the pressure, just nice and chilled

Here's some good luck to us all!

thumper59 · 30/12/2018 21:44

Took my last pill on Thursday, I'm also nervous to see what my 'normal' cycle is like as I've been on it for 9 years

PumpkinsMum18 · 30/12/2018 21:20

@MiaMoo Ah ok that makes sense. I’m not going to do any tracking in the first instance so will start taking vitamins soon incase I conceive quickly

Roxybaby12 · 30/12/2018 21:13

Hi ladies, can I join you too please?
Literally just stopped taking the mini pill a few days ago. No bleed yet, not even a twinge ☹️ DH and I are looking to start TTC around Feb. So excited as will be #3 but worried mini pill has messed me up as not had a bleed the entire time I was taking it! Hoping everything still works! Lol
Will be great seeing how everyone gets on. Good luck ladies xx

MiaMoo007 · 30/12/2018 21:05

@PumpkinsMum sorry by actively TTC I mean tracking ovulation etc. I've heard some people coming off the pill or other contraception to get their hormones back to normal before actively TTC
