Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

@thumper59 Oh I started making a nursery ideas Pinterest board months ago 😂

LanieM87 · 02/01/2019 20:52

Hi everyone, interesting reading all your stories! I’ve been on the pill for approx 13yrs, most recently I was taking the mini pill for around 3yrs.
I took my last pill at the end of November, had a withdrawl approx 2 weeks later, but since then nothing! Natural cycles tells me I’m on CD 38.
I was hoping to TTC in the next couple of months but that seems to be getting less and less likely! I really hope it doesn’t take months to get back into regular cycles!

whatsthecraic91 · 02/01/2019 19:56

@miamoo007 I didn’t know Yasmin was a combined pill. I was out on it too because of acne so I’m praying my skin doesn’t get bad! I never actually connected Yasmin with weight gain but I’m hoping I drop weight now you’ve said this! I have been on the pill for 11 years, Yasmin for 8 of them years and in that time I’ve went from always being 8st to now at my heaviest 10 1/2 stone. Took my last pill on Xmas eve and so far good!

thumper59 · 02/01/2019 19:17

@PumpkinsMum18 I'd have to find out the gender! I'm to impatient 😂

I'm hoping my periods will go back to normal. I wasn't ever really irregular before going on the pill from what I can remember, but they was fairly heavy Hmm

I'm also super exicted. One half of me is reasonable and trying not to be because who knows when/if it'll happen. The other half has already got nursery ideas pinned on Pinterest. Blush
I'm 23 for reference. And this will be our first child Grin

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/01/2019 18:47

Family name**

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/01/2019 18:47

@Miamoo I might change my mind nearer the time too!! DH wants a boy ‘to carry on the family’ and also so he can play Lego with him Hmm

MiaMoo007 · 02/01/2019 18:42

I've always said I wouldn't find out the gender...DH wants to. I don't think I'll truly know how I will react until the time comes.

Arewethereyet19 · 02/01/2019 18:33

I would find out but more for practical reasons. My sister has all girls so really wouldn’t need much whereas if it was a boy would need to stock up haha

peaky297 · 02/01/2019 18:20

@pumpkinsmum18 I think I would find our the sex, simply because I don't.know if I could wait! Haha
I'm taking pre-natal vitamins, exercising and eating healthily... just have to hope that mother nature is kind now!

@laurenann1991 mine went pretty much back to normal straight away which I know is really lucky. I have had 2 periods when the app predicted so hoping it stays that way.

I would try not to worry, 2 years is a really good amount of time to try and conceive Smile

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/01/2019 17:49

My cousin is giving birth any day now and my sister in law is due in June so hoping for some hand me downs to save a bit of money! 😂

Have you guys thought about finding out the baby’s gender when you do get pregnant? DH and I have decided we want a surprise when it’s born 😊

aimingfor2019 · 02/01/2019 17:39

Also massively broody! Which didn't start until I'd stopped the pill, possible a side effect of the pill.
Now wishing I'd stopped taking it earlier cos I'm feeling really impatient and not even knowing my cycle is driving me nuts!

LaurenAnn1991 · 02/01/2019 17:34

Did it take you long to get your cycle back to normal? I'm about 3 months post first AF now & I think I'm just about getting there. I've spoken to a number of ladies, & I've convinced myself there's a link between the depo & PCOS. I had my first child at 20, almost 7 years ago now, so I just hope it doesn't take forever and a day as partner & I have said if I'm not pregnant within the next 2 years, we'll call it a day 😕 x

Arewethereyet19 · 02/01/2019 17:23

I was on the depo too @laurenann1991 but swapped about 3 years ago when we thought we might want to ttc in the next few years.

I’m in the broody brigade too! I already have a lot of nieces and nephews but have never felt overly broody before and then DP’s sister had a baby boy in December and just really made me want one but now haha.

Think it’s natural to worry - a couple of my close friends are going through IVF but just trying to relax about it or definitely won’t be helping the situation haha

Gem1188 · 02/01/2019 16:41

Ladies I know how you feel!
I have my OH and he has two kids already. It's the only thing I am missing is one of my own. I've wanted a baby for a long time but it's never been right. Now it's a possibility.
@pumpkinsmum18 I have also been looking at things, trying to gauge how much it will cost more than anything but it just makes me want one even more!
@peaky297 I know what you mean. 😊

EssJayyCee · 02/01/2019 16:26

I came off the pill in July.
I've always had irregular periods and so far I've had 4 cycles currently on my 5th with lengths ranging from 18-64 days!!

I recently found out i have cysts on my ovaries so getting pregnant is likely to be difficult for me :(

When I first came off the pill I was able to finally lose weight! I had been trying for so long but I got stuck at one weight but as soon as I came off it I gradually dropped a stone.

I also had alot of symptoms like headaches, dizzy spells nausea. I thought I was pregnant at one point but I wasn't unfortunately!

peaky297 · 02/01/2019 16:10

I am also in the broody brigade. I'm also kind of nervous. After years and years of preventing pregnancy, now that I want it I get nervous that something will be wrong if that makes sense? You just can't tell until you try!
If.my cycle has gone back to normal, I'm due to ovulate in the next few days. Other than OPKs, do you guys have any signs when you are ovulating?

MiaMoo007 · 02/01/2019 16:03

I'm so ready to have a baby now. Became am aunt for the first time in July and I'm besotted. I really don't want to get stressed about it all though when we are TTC. We are also in the process of trying to sell our house too which is a huge stress!

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/01/2019 15:57

I’ve been on Microgynon the whole time and it’s been fine for me.

Anyone else getting broody? I started looking at changing bags in the Cath Kidston sale..... 😬

LaurenAnn1991 · 02/01/2019 15:49

Can I join? I was on the depo so slightly different, but it took me an entire 12 months to get the first sniff of a period (very annoying). Currently using OPKs just to try & establish when I'm ovulating really as AF has been a bit all over the place. Good look ladies, here's to 2019 🤞🏽

MiaMoo007 · 02/01/2019 15:32

@peaky297 @Gem1188 thanks both. I've been on Yasmin constantly for 11years. Finishing soon to start TTC so hoping all is ok when I come off it! I'm such a worried. Eeekk!

Gem1188 · 02/01/2019 15:30

@miamoo007

When I was on the combined pill about 5 years ago I was on Yasmin. I was taken off microgynon and placed onto Yasmin because of acne. I stopped taking this when I had the implant put in.
When on Yasmin I piled on the pounds but my skin cleared up.
Since coming off everything, I am starting to lose weight, my skin is bad, but not like before and I am more chilled out. Although today I feel I could cry at anything.

Hope this helps

peaky297 · 02/01/2019 14:27

@miamoo007
I was on microgynon, which is a combined pill too :)

Was anyone on Yasmin? Heard a lot of people talk about the mini pill or progesterone only pills...interested to see if there is any difference with Yasmin which is progesterone and oestrogen...

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/01/2019 13:38

Took my last pill yesterday woo! Interested to see if my mood changes 🤔
