Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

Good morning all, its been a few weeks since I posted. Just trying to catch up with everything. Had a withdrawal bleed in January (59 days after stopping the pill) and I think I'm just finishing my first AF (day 45). Like most of you have said it's really light so hopefully things are settling down.
Been doing some thinking and would like a baby after Christmas and January (way too many birthdays already). But certainly aiming for spring next year.

Also I have been doing some looking at things and this should give us time to save money.........

Kinsella82 · 13/03/2019 16:56

So sorry @PumpkinsMum18

aimingfor2019 · 13/03/2019 16:47

@PumpkinsMum18
Thank you.
Since beginning of December, so this was cycle 3.

This cycle has been really messed up for me, it didn't follow any of the previous cycles and the ovulation sticks didn't pinpoint anything but did DTD 2-3times a week through the whole cycle.

Hoping87 · 13/03/2019 16:47

Congratulations!! Xx

PumpkinsMum18 · 13/03/2019 16:43

aimingfor2019 Yay! Huge congratulations Grin

How long have you been TTC?

aimingfor2019 · 13/03/2019 16:09

So after being insistent that I couldn't be ovulating on day 23 of my cycle because all my previous cycles had been 28 or 29 day.

My period didn't arrive after 29 days but a FRER test was negative, still no period after 1.5 weeks so retested yesterday and this happen.

Still not sure I believe it, first test I beyond soaked the window (held my pee in too long before taking the test). Second I did with a cup and dipping but so sure I did it wrong and it's a false positive.

Brought a Clearblue test that shows how many weeks you are which I'll do tomorrow morning.

Anyone else fresh off the pill!?
PumpkinsMum18 · 13/03/2019 15:24

AF has arrived! On CD35 Confused

PumpkinsMum18 · 11/03/2019 07:34

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I posted (lost my login password) so I thought I was get back in touch with you!

Quick recap on me: took last pill on 1st Jan, had withdrawal bleed 5th-8th Jan and then first ‘real’ period 7th-10th February.

According to Flo app, my period should have started on Saturday but nothing yet.... I was rather dubious about this since I’ve only had one proper period so far and my cycle could be all over the place! I see that some of you ladies are experiencing the same unpredictable cycles.

Anyway I took a test this morning and it was negative which I kinda expected. Will see if AF appears over few days!

Have a good Monday all Smile

@ttc2019babyno1.. i see, maybe my body has been doing the same.. prepping for ovulation but not actually doing it, who knows! Im 28, id always hoped to get pregnant at 28 soo fingers crossed! Every month at payday i treat myself to a HPT just to check ive not been caught, but so far lots of stark white negatives. Its always so disappointing xx

Beddie11 · 10/03/2019 17:26

@FC90 ahhh thats really shitty, i cant imagine how hard that must have been for you 😔
Im definitely gonna go to the drs at the 3month mark if no period has arrived, like you say even if its just to get on there radar. I have some some time off in april so il go then.. that makes it well over 3 months xx

FC90 · 08/03/2019 20:44

@Beddie11 thank you, bloody cancer. He was a GP as well and didn't see it coming 🤷. Your Dr will probably just tell you to come back in another three months etc, but it may be worth just getting on their radar. Mine did still offer me a referral to the fertility clinic when he rang to see if anything had happened yet, but I said I'd like another 6 months to see if we can do it naturally and he agreed that was the best course of action. Thinking about it he actually offered me a referral at the first 6 months but we had just bought a renovation project and with all the lead paint around I thought it would be best to wait! But like I said, may be worth just having a chat. I stopped knicker checking at about 4 months so it was quite a shock I can tell you!

@TTc2019BabyNo1 thank you! They are indeed, but I'm not sure at 17 that I would have thought about it much! Just wish I'd come off earlier, but hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Beddie11 · 08/03/2019 20:32

@FC90 also im very sorry about the loss of your dad 😔😔

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/03/2019 20:31

@Beddie11
From what I gather (I have learnt a lot from these forums since starting our ttc journey) you should have a temperature increase in the second half of your cycle (estrogen is dominant in the first half, low temps then progesterone in the second half, higher temps). Chances are if you’ve had the signs but no temp increase, then your body has geared up to ovulate but not actually released an egg.

I am no expert by the way but that is how I understand it. I’ve learnt more about my body in the last few months than I have my whole life!

I turned 31 on Sunday 😩! I wanted to be pregnant before I turned 31 😞! What about you?

@FC90 thanks for sharing, I can’t believe it took so long. Doctors are very quick to give the pill but gloss over the part about ttc later on! Good luck! Hopefully you’ll get your BFP soon!!

X

Beddie11 · 08/03/2019 20:31

@FC90 thanks for sharing your experience.. your situation is quite similar to mine in that I was also on the pill microgynon for well over 10years, and im 28. It sounds like i may be wasting my time going to the doctors just yet maybe il wait a little bit longer. Its unbelievable isnt it that you dont have a period for sooo long then all of a sudden it just comes! I hope you get a positive result very soon! Its so frustrating i really wish I'd come off the pill sooner x

FC90 · 08/03/2019 20:14

Hello everyone

This is my first time posting on a forum but I just thought I would add my experience, as when I came off bc I couldn't find many people in the same situation. I stopped taking the pill (microgynon) which I had been on for about 10 years, in Dec 17 (I was 27) as I'd heard it could take a few months to get back to normal before ttc, which we were planning to do in about April. I had my usual withdrawal bleed, then nothing.

At three months I spoke to my GP who said come back at six months if nothing, so when six months came and no af I went back and he ran a few bloods, all seemed ok. He explained it can take time, and also thought that my body may be acting oddly as my father passed away the year before and I hadnt outwardly seemed to grieve. Anyway, he basically said as tests were ok get back in touch in Dec. This was quite frustrating as we were really ready to ttc, but with no sign of AF I wasn't even sure if there was point! I also had a pelvic ultrasound (for other reasons) and ovaries and uterus looked good, so that was a relief.

December came and went with nothing (before a boozy weekend I would do a hpt just to make sure!) so mid Jan he ran more bloods and was deciding whether to send me to the fertility specialists or the endocrinologists. On the 30/01 AF FINALLY ARRIVED! I'd never been so blooming happy. So in my experience, it took 13 months. I'm not saying this to stress anyone out, but just wanted to let it be known that seriously delayed af can happen, even with healthy test results.

I'm cd39 now I think, and no sign of af and bfn, but I'm almost certain it will be another long cycle (fingers crossed it's not another year!) We've been dtd a fair amount this month, but I haven't been temping or using opks really, which I probably should. I've done quite a few hpts in the hope that I have ov'd and got incredibly lucky, but I know that's ridiculous!

Good luck to everyone, I'm hoping everyone's cycles sort themselves out quickly!!

Beddie11 · 08/03/2019 20:12

@ttc2019babyno1 sooo does there have to be the temp increase for ovulation to occur? The other signs arent enough? Ive not been tracking anything, ive had ewcm twice.. just one show in jan and the same again exactly 4 weeks later. How old are you if you dont mind me asking x

TTc2019BabyNo1 · 08/03/2019 20:05

@Beddie11
Yes, I had EWCM and a positive opk a few weeks ago but no temperature increase so no ovulation. Then the same thing happened on Monday, blazing positive opk and lots of stabbing pains but no temperature increase since, so no ovulation again 😩
Have you had any signs?
I hope the doctor gives you better advice than mine!! Keep us posted!

Beddie11 · 08/03/2019 19:57

@ttc2019babyno1 hello again! Oh really! I'll have to let you know how i get on then see if i have any better luck! Like i say im not sure what they'd be able to do anyway but just seems like the right thing to do just for abit of advice! Have u had any signs of ovulation?? X
