Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

Abi58 · 19/05/2019 22:31

@Maddy0405
I took the last pills towards the end of March and had the first bleed / af 1st weekend in May and ovulated this cycle 😁

Didn't have a withdrawal bleed though which was odd as mine were always clockwork!

Maddy0405 · 19/05/2019 20:58

When did you stop taking the pill @Abi58?

I’ll keep you posted on af and I’ll look forward to seeing everyone else’s updates 😁

Abi58 · 19/05/2019 20:31

Hi @Maddy0405

Everyone is different but it's good if you have the time and ability to let things settle so you know where you are.

We started trying immediately (as in not checking anything but just seeing what happened)

I got my withdrawal late or 1st af just over 1 month after last pill and as I was keen to knownif I was getting back to normal I used opks and had a positive one a few days before the apps predicted. Now 5dpo and waiting to see what happens 😁🤞🏻

Hi ladies

I hope you won’t mind me jumping on the bandwagon! Have spent the best part of an hour catching up with this thread.

I'm 27, have been on various different pills for past 11 years. Stopped my pill on 12th May and am just finishing up my breakthrough bleed now. Might sound a bit bonkers but we are hoping to get pregnant a bit later in the year as we are going on an extended holiday to Australia in mid January so don’t want to be too pregnant for that.

Sorry to go on a bit but for a bit of back story, DH works away in the summer. Last year he was away for 8 weeks so I stopped my pill while he was away and I had my breakthrough bleed but then nothing (restarted the pill when he got home)!! So that’s why I’m stopping the pill a bit earlier than planned so I can see what my cycle is going to be like (I expect to be waiting around quite a while for af!).

@Mycrazylife85
Snap! I was on dianet for my skin then after a few years went onto marvelon. You were in them for a long time and everyone is different with how long it takes to bounce back. If you're at all worried or just want answer go to the dr ASAP just to put your mind at rest. I'm not sure what effect PCOS has but there might be something the dr can give or advise to help get things back on track faster? Worth going sooner rather than later 🙂

Mycrazylife85 · 15/05/2019 12:46

@Abi58 I had the really think for this one. It was Marvelon. I was on cilest before that and dianette when I first went on it. I was on the pill for 17 years and didn't get a break so I expected it to be a bit of time but must admit, I thought it'd be quicker than 74 days. I didn't get particularly bad PMS but certainly more 'edgy' than I feel now. I feel tons better without it, just hoping that my periods will be a little shorter than every two and a half months. I'll give it a few more months and go and see the doctor if I haven't had another. I know I've got PCOS (diagnosed at 16) but wanted to discount it just 'being what happens sometimes' as I know a delay returning to normal does happen
HmmConfusedHmm I don't want to seem too over-the-top too soon

Abi58 · 15/05/2019 00:59

@Mycrazylife85
What pill were you on and for how long?

I was on it for 12 years and didn't get a bleed after stopping at the end of March until last weekend (1st in May) I did the opk earlier out of curiosity as I've heard when ov'ing you're body makes you want to dtd and it definitely does!

I know a few people who have taken a good few months for their bodies to become more regular again.

Haha yes that is a silver lining 😁
Did you get bad pms before the pill?

Mycrazylife85 · 14/05/2019 22:52

@Abi58 that's a great result! I've been a bit of a lurker in this page but unfortunately my body isn't springing back post pill. I tried using OPKs for a bit but got fed up. I finished in January and has a small very light period for about two days at day 74 and now I'm creeping into the 40s again. Nothing as yet and no symptoms at all. It's almost like my hormones have gone to sleep. On the upside I don't feel like a stress crazy lady! Small mercies!

Abi58 · 14/05/2019 19:10

How is everyone getting on?

So I was feeling super frisky and did an opk out of curiosity and I think it's positive! Keeping everything crossed for this cycle but if not I'm so happy my body seems to have bounced back from the pill 😍

Anyone else fresh off the pill!?
Abi58 · 12/05/2019 22:41

@Beddie11
Still non the wiser. Don't think I'm going to try and track cm it seems so confusing. I think it was ewcm the other day as it got clearer as well but now it's not really anything, wouldn't say lotions or sticky. Also confused if I have ovulated why so early I'm currently on cd 10 :s

I guess it depends what they use to calculate it? I use a few atm and they are all different (within a few days of each other) (but if I've just ovulated they are all about a week out!) Flo seems quite good I think it's gets to know you and your cycle more than the others I've tried.

@whatsthecraic91
Ah no that's rubbish :( have they been getting more painful? Hope the pain subsides for you soon!

@peaky297
Wow congratulations! I joined this chat quite late and there were too many messages to read them all. Glad youre feeling ok 🙂
How long did it take your body to get back into any sort of rhythm? I stopped the pill at the end of March and only last weekend had either my withdrawal bleed very late or af

whatsthecraic91 · 12/05/2019 22:07

@beddie11 this will be cycle number 5! So glad I’ve had my first 2 days over the weekend cos this one has completely disabled me I have been crying with the cramps I’ve had Sad it’s not even that heavy like it was last month! So strange, feeling better now thank god!

I’m using 2 different apps Flo and Ovia and my fertile windows are different too & when they predict my AF too. Not sure why Confused

Beddie11 · 12/05/2019 21:30

@whatsthecraic91 good to hear from you. Sorry AF got you...on to another cycle! What cycle is this for u xx

Beddie11 · 12/05/2019 20:28

@peaky297 so glad to hear your doing well, and your at the 12 week mark! Wow thats so exciting you must be thrilled!

@abi58 hows things progressed with you??

I am using femometer app and ovia app and the fertile window is different on each? Can anyone shine a light on that xx

peaky297 · 12/05/2019 12:42

@beddie11 I'm fine thank you! I hit the 12 week mark tomorrow and have my scan booked in for a week Tuesday as I'm away on holiday this week. I also had an early scan at 7 weeks as I was being a worrier as per! It just looked like a little blob, but it was amazing to hear the heartbeat and to know all was ok.

How are you getting on?

Any questions anyone then I'll do my best to help :-)

@whatsthecraic91 sorry to hear af showed up but at least your going to be ovulating soon

Abi58 · 10/05/2019 22:13

@Beddie11 I only had af at the weekend though. It's more clear today hoping that's a good sign

whatsthecraic91 · 10/05/2019 21:56

AF has arrived randomly, didn’t have any symptoms at all she just appeared! 31 day cycle this time, they are getting shorter so hopefully that’s my cycles settling down! Not too disappointed as I knew my chances were slim this month Confused

Beddie11 · 09/05/2019 22:09

@abi58.. ive seen it! Looks potentially like your getting ready for AF maybe? Its not like my ewcm was xxx

Abi58 · 09/05/2019 21:50

@Beddie11
Still confused about the Cm so I made a post with it on 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Abi58 · 08/05/2019 22:46

@Beddie11 haha that's good to know! Might do a separate post though as there's no warning on a comment I people don't want to see 😂😂
Oh I didn't even think of it like that! I did miss a few pills mid last pack and had spotting but then no withdrawal. This af was similar as in very short and light...but I've been on the pill for so long and from so young I don't know what my natural af should be like 😓

Beddie11 · 08/05/2019 22:42

@abi58 this is mumsnet, nothing is ever tmi! Im not sure about skipping withdrawal bleed i really dont know how it works. I thought that your first bleed after the pill is always the withdrawal bleed no matter how long after? I dont know though, bodies are weird things xx
