@KatBeCool I'm learning and I'm new at this so I accept I could be wrong.... but I was getting strong enough cramps all over my pelvic area enough to say to a friend I'm aching and have cramps (though less than what I feel with a period that I remember).

Then the day I got the EWCM I had really strong sharp pains suddenly out of the blue on my right side that lasted a minute or two but was enough to make me say "agh" whilst watching TV. Very sharp and over pretty quickly. Then I went back to having cramps all over.

Last night I had them sharply again though milder. I'd say on pain level I felt the sharp pain at near a 5? Enough to make me go "oh ouch" and prod the area to relieve it but not enough to get a hot water bottle and curl up like a period cramp.

Though I've also been complaining on here for days about pulsating and throbbing in my lady regions and after researching it's my inguinal glands apparently swelling for ovulation- I can even feel that! it actually started to annoy me lol.

But a friend of mine never felt anything before pregnancy or after. the twice she caught (they were a surprise) and had zero symptoms - she only realised she was pregnant when a friend commented on her boobs being bigger and she threw up with wine; that was enough to make her question lol!

Random2468 · 02/01/2019 11:27

@Jessikka I use natural cycles app and the thermometer that comes with that! I find it really user friendly and very accurate 😊

KatBeCool · 02/01/2019 10:50

@Jessikka I take mine at 4:30 in the morning, this way I can still fall asleep after. I forget if I try upon waking or there's a chance I've gotten up in the middle of the night and disturbed the 3-hour minimum resting period, etc. But I know 4:30 alarms aren't for everyone lol.

Question for you ladies... When you say "ovulation pains", how intense are you talking? If I were to measure what I feel, it'd be less than 1, I just feel something is happening but not enough to call it "pain", sometimes I'd get little jolts that are a bit stronger but still very mild.

Jessikka · 02/01/2019 10:12

@19Bee2 I should probably just stop being a lazy mare - if I want something I have to be prepared to sacrifice! Haha!

That's handy to know about the recording so at least I don't have to fumble with apps etc and waking up too much!

Does anyone have any recommendations?

19Bee2 · 02/01/2019 10:06

Morning all,

@thosethreewords Your chart looks really good - FX

@Jessikka Everything I have seen does say you are supposed to take at the same time. I suppose if you make sure you have been asleep for at least three (so I've read) hours before each temp it may not make a huge difference. I take mine at 6am every day. I'm a teacher so I've done the same during the holidays and at weekends and it's really not too bad. I have got used to doing it and then falling right back asleep. Some thermometers will display the most recent temp when you switch it back on, so even if you don't record it there and then you could record it when you wake up properly. X

Jessikka · 02/01/2019 09:38

Morning ladies.

I started using FF last night and it had me down as Ov yesterday. It pairs up with the ideals from the internet in terms of symptoms... I definitely am one of those people who feel Ov pains as the sharp pains in my right ovary were strong! I had the textbook Cm too so who knows!

I have a quick question, next month i May try Charting my temps but I have a q; will one day a week of waking up and temping two hours earlier make a massive difference and therefore no point?

I don't want to temp at 5am everyday just because I wake at 5 on a thursday. This wannabe mama likes her sleep!!!

FlapJackered · 02/01/2019 09:28

@thosethreewords that chart looks so promising!!🤞🏻🤞🏻

@cupcakesandglitter Sorry about Af but hurrah for cycle twins!! I'm doing the opposite of taking it easy this month! 😂 Got a strategy and back on the opks this month. Chilling out obvs didn't work last month and I quite enjoy strategising ttc if I am being honest 😂😂😂

GemmaJen · 02/01/2019 08:38

@thosethreewords my BBT has done the same today, though not as dramatically yours. This waiting game is no fun. FX for you

thosethreewords · 02/01/2019 07:02

@Random2468 you can ovulate upto 72 hrs post LH surge/ positive OPK so don't lose hope yet!

My temp has gone back up today! I am really trying to not get my hopes up too much... but it's so hard.

Random2468 · 02/01/2019 03:16

Sorry it's actually 3 days post pos opk

Random2468 · 02/01/2019 03:15

No bbt temp rise yet 2 days after positive opk 😔 this happened last cycle and it actually took till CD 45 to ovulate with a false positive opk around now. I was just hoping body was messed up post mc and ERPC but will be so disheartened if my cycles continue to be this long and irregular

GemmaJen · 01/01/2019 22:38

@cupcakesandglitter I can only imagine the yoga move required 😂 this ttc lark is so dignified! I've got the ifertracker not as pricey as Ava, but just does temp. I'm getting on really well with it, I get really consistent temps with clear patterns and it's low fuss.

@MrsR16 ah those are the type of nurse visits I hate, so uncomfortable!

@KatBeCool spelunking, lol love it. Yes nails don't help much. I've given up with cervix checks it's just so tricky and I think my cervix is running away from me!

@starkid fx for implantation, probably worth making the appointment. I always find that if I over prepare as if it's not going to happen ( buy loads of opks, book in with the doctor etc... ) It feels more like it might actually happen. Screwed up logic maybe, but it makes me feel better X

MrsR16 · 01/01/2019 22:35

@cupcakesandglitter no, unfortunately! That would be the one thing to make it absolutely epic! I'm always up at different times every day, so would find it hard to temp normally. Yeah, I struggled with Flo last month, but it was the first month where she changed her mind on a near daily basis as to when AF was due and I'd O'd! It was very frustrating x

cupcakesandglitter · 01/01/2019 22:29

@MrsR16 does the Fitbit track your temp? I don't think flo is super accurate - it keeps changing dates for me anytime I enter a new symptom etc. I prefer FF for logging CM/cervix and temps. Flo I like using purely because you can compare every month x

MrsR16 · 01/01/2019 22:17

@cupcakesandglitter Fitbit is saying that I'm supposed to O on Sunday but Flo reckons Friday! I'm not sure what the Fitbit tracks yet as far as predicting FW, but I'm interested! I just need to get busy bd-ing! 😂😂 xx

cupcakesandglitter · 01/01/2019 21:46

@EltzBee super happy for you xx

@MrsR16 what's your Fitbit saying? What does it track? I've found it interesting going onto the patterns of body thing on Flo, really useful for symptom spotting 😂 X

@stormtrooperjulian it's actually got worse - cramps are horrendous 😂 to make up for it though I'm currently tucked up with a hot water bottle, fleecy pyjamas, DH has just gone out and bought me pizza and cake, my cat is cuddling me and I'm about to watch Luther - I'm milking every second of this 😂😂😂 x

stormtrooperjulian · 01/01/2019 21:19

@AnnaMC241 that’s annoying about your DH being away in your fertile week, is he somewhere you can drive over and spend a night with him? Hopefully you’ll ovulate on a weekend so you won’t miss it.

@Jessikka apparently you can get ovulation spotting, and I’ve read that it can indicate strong ovulation so hopefully that’s a good thing!

@cupcakesandglitter sorry your AF is bad this time, is it easing off at all yet?

@GemmaJen I can never find my cervix either

@starkid how long is your normal luteal phase? Q

starkid · 01/01/2019 21:13

@MrsR16 - I'm trying to kid myself it could be implantation bleeding as you never know! My app says I'm due Thursday though.

But yes if AF arrives I may try and make an appointment for peace of mind, as at least they will know about my medical history so hopefully won't still tell me to come back after trying for 1 year...? Fx anyway

MrsR16 · 01/01/2019 21:05

@cupcakesandglitter that's alright! Sounds like we've both had hard months... yeah, I'm logging everything on Flo, so we shall see what she says this month! My Fitbit app says completely different to Flo, so I'm interested to see which one is more accurate! Xx

@starkid you're not out till she arrives!! Fingers crossed for you hun. It might be worth making an appt anyway just to see what's going on? X

starkid · 01/01/2019 21:03

@MrsAW2018 - I'd get cracking, close enough to me!

I had the teeniest bit of spotting this evening, so think I'm almost out Sad am on cd27 and only 9dpo, which is a rather short luteal phase if this is AF on its way...

If I am out and similar happens next month, I may make a GP appointment to get it checked out, and ask about my previous surgery possibly causing scar tissue in the area. Don't want to be wasting these months if highly unlikely I'll become pregnant without some help!

EltzBee · 01/01/2019 20:32

@Jessikka like the others said, the middle test is probably your biggest give away! I would recommend temping. I had a LH surge first first month off the pill, the OPKs are great for helping to get to know your cycle too. Sometimes you get two surges in a month too if it doesn't work first time!

I used the FertilityFriend app, it tracks cm, temp and your opks to work out when you ovulate. I found it better than Ovia although it's not a pretty app!

@MrsAW2018 DTD!! That looks pretty close to same colour!

@cupcakesandglitter thanks hun, took me some courage to do the digital for some reason! I'll stay around, got my fingers crossed for you xx

cupcakesandglitter · 01/01/2019 20:24

Thanks @MrsR16 ❤️ sorry I didn't see your message earlier - last month my AF lasted a couple of days longer than usual too. I'm not sure it's anything to worry about, are you logging the spotting on an app too? X

KatBeCool · 01/01/2019 20:14

@GemmaJen I can't find mine either! I also have fingernails so I don't like to go "up there" and scratch myself while spelunking for my cervix. I read that cervix can also curve to the side so that makes it harder to find it.

MrsR16 · 01/01/2019 19:09

@FlapJackered thanks for your reply hun, guess I'll wait and see what's happening! 🤷‍♀️

@cupcakesandglitter I hate it when AF hits really bad... fingers crossed it soothes soon for you!

@GemmaJen I can never find mine either lol the nurses always can if I need a check up, so I'm obviously doing something wrong! 😂

cupcakesandglitter · 01/01/2019 19:07

Evening @MrsAW2018 I'd say it's very nearly there!! You could possibly have your surge overnight so I'd DTD today! Xxx
