@stormtrooperjulian - twins run in my family too and am very petite, my DH is petrified of the thought of them haha, I'd be over the moon!

MrsLBear · 04/01/2019 15:56

@stormtrooperjulian I always said that - I couldn't imagine being pregnant and I couldn't imagine getting those two pink lines or a clear blue saying pregnant. But it's the strangest thing when it does happen, and it WILL, it feels completely normal and natural. Literally the night of the day I got my BFP it felt like I had always had it. If that makes any sense at all. Don't get me wrong I can't imagine having an actual baby now (so it changes! Haha) but it's just because you haven't got anything to relate to it YET.

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 15:53

@stormtrooperjulian forgot to mention, twins fit in anyone, big or small. Those are your babies, not elephant babies, they'll fit :)

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 15:51

@stormtrooperjulian you'll get pregnant. It's hard to imagine something that involves feeling pregnant when you've never experienced it. Stay positive.

GemmaJen · 04/01/2019 15:23

@stormtrooperjulian twins is a scary thought, you may be doubly lucky when you get your BFP! I've not had symptoms really, just some pressure in my abdomen coming on stronger today, I had the same feeling with the start of the MC pregnancy, feels like AF is due any moment. Also been feeling gassy and nauseous, but how much of that is the Christmas/new year food I don't know, I've eaten way too much!

@MrsR16 happy baby dancing for you Grin

stormtrooperjulian · 04/01/2019 14:19

@GemmaJen twins run in my family, I’ve got to admit that does scare me a bit. I’m only small, no way would twins fit in me, I’d be wider than I am tall!
You having any symptoms yet?

@thosethreewords how many dpo are you? Could be implantation bleeding?

@MrsR16 has the spotting gone on longer than usual? I only really avoid dtd on my couple of heavy af days, the rest of the time I just warn DH that it will be messy and put a towel on the bed 😂

I’m 2dpo now and fluctuating between feeling really positive about this cycle (really pleased with the timing of dtd on this one) and thinking that there’s no point feeling positive cos I just can’t imagine ever actually getting pregnant!

starkid · 04/01/2019 13:44

@MrsR16 - woop woop!

MrsR16 · 04/01/2019 13:39

Hoo-bloody-ray! Finally stopped spotting!! 😊 time to catch up with some much needed BD-ing! 🎉🎉

starkid · 04/01/2019 13:08

@sunshine1987 - ah really? Mine changes but generally ovulate around 16-19, with a 10 day luteal phase. I'll mention that to her anyway (as think luteal phase maybe bit short?) and see what they suggest. Thank you!

sunshine1987 · 04/01/2019 12:39

@starkid do you know when you ovulate at all? Day 21 bloods are to be carried out 7 days after you ovulate, going on the basis that the average ovulation is day 14. For me that meant having my bloods done day 21 meant incorrect results, I ovulated day 16 so should have had my bloods done day 23. Worth thinking about if you know when you ovulate and get it booked 7 days after that x

starkid · 04/01/2019 12:31

@KatBeCool - I've been trying since September, just paranoid due to short luteal phase and previous surgeries meaning it's likely there's scar tissue in the tube area, prompting me to get an appointment earlier than the suggested 1 year. I think with my medical 'quirks', they would want to test for deficiencies in a fair few vitamins as I'm more likely to be deficient in certain areas anyway.

@FlapJackered - thank you, I'll definitely ask for a print-out of the results if I do have a blood test (need to over-analyse them!

@sunshine1987 - Ah ok cool, cd21 will be 22nd Jan. Guess wait and see what they suggest, probably a general blood test first.

sunshine1987 · 04/01/2019 12:24

@starkid I was given bloods at day 3 of my cycle and day 21 to check progesterone, LSH etc and also had my thyroids checked x

thosethreewords · 04/01/2019 11:49

@GemmaJen congratulations! ❤️

I think AF has arrived as I've had some spotting, so feeling totally shite. I'm only CD24 as well so this is a short cycle. 😩😩😩

cupcakesandglitter · 04/01/2019 11:43

Congrats @GemmaJen xxx

FlapJackered · 04/01/2019 11:41

@KatBeCool I am keeping everything crossed for you!

@starkid they will probably suggest day 3 and day 21 bloods. Day 3 are primarily to check eastrogen and day 21 - progesterone. To check you are definitely ovulating. With those bloods they will check other things like thyroid levels, vit d, antibodies etc. Then they may also suggest a scan to check for cysts etc. I would recommend asking for a print out of your blood tests when you get them as some of what the docs consider 'normal' levels are considered high if ttc.

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 11:18

@starkid thank you! The initial blood test can be done whenever. FSH has a range for every stage of the cycle so you just match it. Specific day tests come later if they start suspecting issues. Make sure they test your TSH and vitamin D. How long have you been ttc?

starkid · 04/01/2019 10:58

@GemmaJen - nice one, what a line, and for so early too! Fx for you Smile
@KatBeCool - FX for you too xx

I'm CD3, just gearing up to start testing with my clearblue digital OPK again maybe from tomorrow, just so got a good headstart on it compared to last months shambles haha.

For those who have been to the GP about their fertility, do they usually suggest a blood test, and if so at a certain time in the cycle? Just trying to prepare for what might happen in the appointment... although I expect different for everyone!

qwertt12 · 04/01/2019 10:54

@Jessikka so jealous! You channel it!! Work it!

Jessikka · 04/01/2019 10:52

@qwertt12 thankfully I know his humour and knew he was joking. Made me laugh anyway and took my mind off it for a while.

Today they've swelled and I'm channeling my inner Katie Price so he will be happy when he's home haha!

MrsLBear · 04/01/2019 10:40

Omg @GemmaJen!!!! Congratulations!!!! A very good line!!

qwertt12 · 04/01/2019 10:31

@Jessikka

I am creasing!!!

Life is so simple to a man

My other half would defo say this!! 😂😂 love it!!!

GemmaJen · 04/01/2019 10:27

@MrsEG after being mildly annoyed I tested early (I think the squeal of excitement that woke him up may also not have helped Grin) he is super happy.

@KatBeCool ha! DH nearly spat out his tea when I said twins. I think it's unlikely as we don't have any in the family lol. Tbf the plastic tests are as sensitive as frers at 10mIU/ml, but 1/4 of the price, I got them of Amazon.

KatBeCool · 04/01/2019 10:19

@GemmaJen omg! Congratulations! Those are some strong lines! Looking at your chart, it might be 9dpo or you had a very early implanter and a set of twins for it to be 8dpo and to show up on a cheapie and not even a frer.

@FlapJackered I'm CD26 and 10dpo, so biting my nails here, or at least trying not to. I'm still unsure where my luteal phase is because I think it was shorter due to hypothyroidism, since I started taking synthroid it's been 10 to 13 days. Last month I started spotting at 10dpo. So today is going to be a long day.

ttc12019 · 04/01/2019 10:12

Congrats @GemmaJen !! 🥳

19Bee2 · 04/01/2019 10:08

Huge congratulations @GammaJen Wonderful news.
