Hey guys, running out of room on the old thread so starting a new one! Let’s hope it’s lucky number 10!! Will try and tag everyone now :)

@EltzBee Here we go - DH said he found this one most helpful as an overview: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.livescience.com/44221-how-to-get-pregnant.html

He also liked this one as it mentioned his fertility too and explains the science! This one also specifically mentions an egg has a 12-24 hour window of success, which has helped me with the ‘no we can’t wait to DTD tomorrow’ argument :) www.avawomen.com/avaworld/the-biology-of-conception/ - he was a bit funny about an article on Ava but then I told him their bracelets have been through trials and have been published, and then he was interested. He’s such a bloody nerd.

@MrsLBear mine definitely was, sooooo stretchy!! Weird 😩

@03cclarke I see it too, Fx you get a darker result soon!

MrsEG · 21/12/2018 17:02

@03cclarke I see it!! Hope it’s much darker for you tomorrow! Yaay a BFP!!

@EltzBee Sure! I’ll dig the links out - he’s very science-minded so I carefully selected things in reputable journals or news sources and avoided Daily Mail ‘Femail’ type links I knew he would just ignore!! I think he’s getting in to it all way more now he understands the science behind it!

EltzBee · 21/12/2018 16:50

@MrsEG Awesome ref the reading material!!! Can you send me links to what you shared with your DH? I think I may have to do the same, cos after 6 months I’m fed up of repeating every.single.month how I’m only fertile for a few days!

@KittieKath @MrsLBear exactly that with worrying about missing a pill or being on antibiotics or something! So ridiculous now to think about that when 6 months off the pill, and trying at the right times, and no pregnancy! Lol

Hah, we’ve all been there with testing early like crazy fools when when we know the chance of it being positive is so slim! My temperature is low and obviously ready for AF imminently but I still have a stupid urge to POAS again when I know it would be a bfn. I like think I’m reasonably intelligent but this etc makes me do stupid things!!

03cclarke · 21/12/2018 16:50

What are we thinking ladies?????

TTC FIRST BABY - THREAD 10!
MrsEG · 21/12/2018 16:36

@MrsH497 Yep, I know that feeling all too well! I’m waiting til the day AF is due this month. One month I did 3 FRERs in one day at 10DPO - I was like a woman possessed (all negative - I don’t know what I thought was going to happen!!)

@KittieKath @MrsLBear Crazy isn’t it - I used to panic if I missed like one pill - if only I knew!!

OP posts:
MrsH497 · 21/12/2018 16:31

@MrsEG may test this weekend depends whether AF arrives or not. I want to just don't want the disappointment that single line brings!

MrsLBear · 21/12/2018 16:20

@cupcakesandglitter come to think of it I had something similar but mine wasn't too much like ewcm. I'm trying to ignore it and anything else too.

Haha I know it's tragic really but Sod's law would have been that bad we been careless when we were younger we would have gotten pg! @KittieKath

@03cclarke eeeeeek send us a pic of the next one!!! How many DPO are you?

thosethreewords · 21/12/2018 16:11

@Charm23 - I'm also rhesus negative. It shouldn't cause much in the way of problems. You will need anti D injections at 28 weeks and at birth (if baby is positive) but unless there's a complication that indicates anti-D, usually it's just two injections.

KittieKath · 21/12/2018 16:10

@PaintingOwls ha ha ha!! Yes, my OH is the same. It only became real when he saw my chart.

@thosethreewords Hi! I am only a few days in and already feel like part of the furniture! :-)

@MrsLBear It's ridiculous to think of how many times I panicked when I was young about one sperm entering my body maybe, if only it was that easy!!! Only 32% of women get pregnant first month when actively trying and DTD during fertile window.

cupcakesandglitter · 21/12/2018 16:10

Thanks @MrsEG @MrsLBear after frantically googling I've seen it's normal to get an oestrogen surge roughly 3-6dpo after ov, which causes EWCM. That's okay with me - I'll be testing on Christmas morning if she doesn't turn up but until then I'm going to carry on having a drink and not thinking about it x

Babytrain89 · 21/12/2018 16:02

@MrsLBear I am merely speaking the truth! I'll be at PIL so going to have to sneak a test or 2 into my make up bag just in case!!

MrsLBear · 21/12/2018 16:00

I forgot to add @cupcakesandglitter fx it's the latter for you!!!!!'

MrsLBear · 21/12/2018 15:59

@KittieKath thank you for those statistics. That actually made me feel really hopeful ❤️ cos I naively assumed it would take a max of 3 cycles and here I am 6 cycles later and I know it's not a lot compared to some but each month it's such a kick in the teeth when af shows.

@cupcakesandglitter I had that last month I think - and I have read it can happen any time during your cycle but then I also read some women have this if it's good news.

Love that @Babytrain89. Invites weren't extended to af this year.

Babytrain89 · 21/12/2018 15:55

@MrsEG fingers crossed for us all! I've calmed down a bit now. I agree with the PP, I also seem to be surrounded by pregnant people and people who 'weren't expecting it at all!' it's only cycle 2 I know but just feel quite pressured!

Really hope this thread is full of Christmas BFPs!

Keyboard91 · 21/12/2018 15:55

@MrsEG - I’m due 23rd/Sunday- so AF for Xmas if no luck. I’m not sure what’s going on, just don’t feel myself today... so it’s strange for me. I don’t think it’s pg symptoms as would be too early ... but a girl can dream! But at least AF would mean I could drink lots of Gin!!!

I’d love to test Xmas Day, get a BFP and pop the digital test in my DP stocking!

MrsEG · 21/12/2018 15:46

Hi @thosethreewords! FW over Xmas, perfect!! (So long as you don’t have a bunch of family staying over of course!!)

OP posts:
MrsEG · 21/12/2018 15:39

@cupcakesandglitter I hear that’s a good sign!!! Eeeeek!!! FX

Hello @Babytrain89! My AF is due Xmas day too, there’s a few of us testing around the same time! Gotta be at least a few BFPs!

@MrsR16 Flo sounds like she’s going mad!! I use Clue and it never seems to change my AF due date, probably because the only symptom I ever get though is sore boobs! Feeling really nauseas today too but I’m 99% certain that’s from the questionable mushroom stew I had at lunch!!

@03cclarke How exciting, try and get a pic for us - FX the line darkens for you!

@EltzBee I do the same - I actually sent DH a load of reading material to drill in how important the timings are for DTD and what a small window we get to stop him saying ‘can’t we just do it tomorrow instead’ - no, no we cannot!

@MrsH497 I’m constantly surrounded by friends on maternity leave! 4 of them at the moment!!

@Keyboard91 Poor you, really hope you’re feeling better soon (or better still, they’re pg symptoms!!) - if you’re CD27 are you due AF fairly soon?

No problem @Charm23. My AF came back 4 weeks to the day that MC bleeding began so I thought I was fine, but it turned out to be a big old mess and I still had a load of HCG left in my system that was really messing with my head leaving me feeling extremely down. But I’d say a week after that, I started feeling much better. Another test was completely negative so I knew it was finally all over and done with XX Hope you recover quickly hun!

@PaintingOwls LOL at ‘the accessories’ I have my ‘baby making kit’ as DH calls it including ‘baby juice’ (pre-seed)!! Really hope you feel better soon. I’ve been feeling really sick today and am hoping it just what I’ve eaten - I don’t want a bug this close to Xmas!

Anyone testing this weekend??

thosethreewords · 21/12/2018 15:39

Hello please can I join in??
TTC #1
Cycle #1
CD10

Cycles 26 days usually
Negative OPK so far
Temping
CM becoming more fertile so I think we're on for FW next week!

PaintingOwls · 21/12/2018 15:27

Hello, I'm slithering in to this thread too.

I've been sick as a dog for the last 2 weeks and think I'm going to ovulate over Christmas. I do not have the strength, will, or desire to DTD and my OPKs are negative thus far.

Age: 26
TTC: #1
Cycle: 5 although DP argues that it's only 3 as that's when I got all the "accessories"

cupcakesandglitter · 21/12/2018 15:25

Sorry @Keyboard91 forgot to tag you in message below x

cupcakesandglitter · 21/12/2018 15:25

Congrats @03cclarke !! First Christmas BFP!! Xx

@stormtrooperjulian hopefully 😩 just did two OPKs and both negative atm, so no idea what's going on 😩 didn't want to get caught up in this cycle but it's thrown me off guard x

Charm23 · 21/12/2018 15:23

@MrsEG Well done keeping calm and thanks for the advice about first cycle. I'm not entirely sure when to expect AF, was it 4-6 weeks after for you? Fingers crossed for a BFP a bit quicker this time lol
@KatBeCool Thank you lovely. I was a bit worried people may think I was moving too fast and would try to talk me into waiting but I'm pleased you're all being so nice. I'm not really into Christmas but I enjoy gift giving and spending time with loved ones, oh and eating all the food! :D
@MrsLBear Thanks hun. My DH is amazing. We were actually about to eat breakfast at a restaurant with PIL when she ran her mouth, accusing me of saying hurtful things and making assumptions about me. I straight up told her she was wrong and she just skirted around it and didn't even attempt to apologise. Long story short, I told DH that I couldn't face breakfast and I would wait for him in the car while he ate with his family. Literally 2 minutes later he got in the car with me, having told his mum that she was wrong about me and that we leaving. He's definitely on my side and I love him for it.
@FlapJackered Thank you my lovely. It feels so strange being back, but things happen for a reason. Hopefully we'll all get out BFP soon!
@stormtrooperjulian Thanks hun. We're both doing very well thank you.

I wanted to ask if you ladies all know your blood group? I never knew mine and only found out last week that I'm Rhesus D negative which can cause issues in pregnancy. I'm not looking forward to knowing I'll need more blood tests and anti D injections when I do get pregnant again :( Anyone in the same boat?

Keyboard91 · 21/12/2018 15:23

CD27 and I’m exhausted, stomach feels off and have had a mega headache all day. Don’t think my body got the memo about it being a busy few days in the lead up to Xmas!

But bonus points for DP who is doing all the housework today, after tucking me in on the sofa :)

@cupcakesandglitter that’s supposed to be a good sign (!)

EltzBee · 21/12/2018 14:53

@stormtrooperjulian ours had a catnip bag inside a scratching toy which they managed to get out overnight and went crazy! Little one currently asleep on me, and even though I'm desperate for a wee I daren't disturb her LOL.
