@thosethreewords I couldn't help myself 😂 plus they're seasonal too. Guess I just got too excited with that false positive 😂

@FlapJackered same thing happened to me this morning - except I woke up five hours earlier 😂😂😂 I've used the site that @sunshine1987 posted (thanks sunshine!) and its more what I'd expect it to be at. Not gonna log it onto FF though xx

sunshine1987 · 30/12/2018 08:58

@flapjackered I used to use this site when I woke up too early/late; www.whenmybaby.com/basalbodytemperature.php

ttc12019 · 30/12/2018 08:57

@FlapJackered Thank you!
Anyone here use the Clue app? I have been using it for about 2 years now to track AF and only just started recording temp. What's the consensus about coQ10 and folic acid? I picked up the wrong ones whilst shopping and ended up with b-complex and folic acid! Silly mee!!
Do I have to take coQ10 or will b-complex do?
CD has been averaging 31-33 days and we're only on cycle 1.
I should have mentioned those in my first post I suppose, I'm a total newbie so hopefully I'll pick up the lingo soon Grin
So good to see all the encouraging posts!

DuchessofPemberley · 30/12/2018 08:51

Right! I tested at 10dpo and it’s an indent line I think. It has a tiny bit of colour but so little I can’t pick it up on camera. This is good because I still have hope, the line could get darker and from a great link one of you posted earlier in the thread I know that only 66% of women who go on to get a bfp get it at this point. So loads of hope 😀

Of course I tested to see if I could eat and drink what I like today as it’s my birthday, and the test is inconclusive so it doesn’t help with that 🤦🏼‍♀️ But as it’s more like an indent line than a positive I’m going to take it as a negative for the purposes of festivities 🥳

Hope you’re all doing well today!

This is my first time charting - at what point will my temperature stop rising?!?

TTC FIRST BABY - THREAD 10!
thosethreewords · 30/12/2018 08:41

@FlapJackered well I'm glad to know we are so loony together 😂😂 also, you must rattle when you walk with all those vitamins! Good on you for doing so much research!
@cupcakesandglitter you see I can justify baby things because they "may not be for me" seeing as everyone in the world is pregnant! But love how much you have bought so far 😂
@19Bee2 I'm also rubbish at keeping secrets!! I'm currently with ILs and my SIL is pregnant (and a midwife!) and I'm dying to discuss it all with her but DH has sworn me to secrecy!!
@FlapJackered hmmm I would probably go off the first one but you can always discard it if you feel it doesn't fit the pattern.

FlapJackered · 30/12/2018 07:20

😩 morning ladies, I think I am probably out but could do with your bbt expertise.
I normally temp at 7.10am. I woke up at 6.30 today took my temp straight away and my temp had dropped to 36.35 😭 I lay in bed feeling sorry for myself not moving for 3-5mins and took temp again, and it was 36.60?
I took it three more times and it said 36.60 each time. Which do I take??? I am guessing the first one, but I really would rather have the second one! 😂

@cupcakesandglitter 😂😂

@KatBeCool oh oops I have been downing antihistamines everyday over Christmas!
It may not be, although we could have had a thyroid thing a while before the result (or I know I could have) and thinking of it more as maybe being susceptible a to Thyroid condition we are maybe also susceptible to a sensitivity to alcohol as a pattern rather than a cause if you see what I mean, but I could be wrong. My mum also has thyroid and alcohol allergy. It would be interesting if there were more studies into what causes the allergy.

KatBeCool · 30/12/2018 02:01

@FlapJackered for me, a tiny sip of the wrong stuff will set it off. Before ttc, I used to take antihistamines before drinking at new places. But they say antihistamines might be affecting implantation so I don't take any during ttc and thus don't drink. But I do get itchy hands when I touch raw potatoes, I have to wear gloves. I'm not meant to have normal allergies. Don't think it's related to thyroids as alcohol allergy has been with me long before I got hypothyroid results.

19Bee2 · 30/12/2018 00:15

Hi @Keyboard91Looks like we will be at a similar point throughout the month, then. I am eager to get this show on the road. Good luck with your first proper cycle!

19Bee2 · 30/12/2018 00:12

@thosethreewords Thank you! I feel like this is going to be a good place to get our all the constant thoughts within my mind that are starting to drive me crazy! I hope you enjoy the rest of your time off!

@TrashKitten10 I would say we have been waiting about a year. We decided to move house first and ended up taking on a house that needs a LOT of work. It's definitely a family home and far too big for the two of us but every room needs renovating so that has kept us busy this year. Time to see if we can start to fill it though. How long have you known you have wanted to try? I have told a couple of close friends and mum and sister; I'm useless at keeping things like this to myself and I know they would guess as soon as I turned down a glass of wine so thought I may as well be open about it from the start.

cupcakesandglitter · 29/12/2018 23:27

Thanks @FlapJackered ❤️❤️❤️ I'll join the crazy train 😊 I bought neutral baby clothes and three maternity jumpers in the sales 😊 and I have more saved 😊 I've lost the fucking plot 😂😂😂😂 x

FlapJackered · 29/12/2018 23:05

Woaaa sorry didn't mean that to be quite such an essay! 😂😶

FlapJackered · 29/12/2018 23:04

@cupcakesandglitter I am so sorry you're stuck in limbo, it is the worst place to be and it can feel like you're going crazy. I am so glad you're sticking with us though as you're one of the few left of us who have been here from the start and I want to see you get your bfp, and you will! ❤️

@starkid @thosethreewords definitely crazy! I almost bought a maternity coat from Seraphine. Lost the plot!

@KatBeCool urgh it's so frustrating isn't it! I get heart palpitations, burning skin and can't get to sleep or wake up in the middle of the night. I also have found that I get a weird rash on my hands and they swell. Probably a pretty good sign I should stay off the booze. 🙄 Spirits are better than wine for me but if I have more than 3/4 drinks of anything it's pretty bad. How about you? I wonder if it's linked to the thyroid as you're hypothyroid too aren't you?

@stormtrooperjulian surely chocolate can only be good! All those endorphins can only be a positive thing! 😂

Welcome @19Bee2 And @ttc12019 and good luck! this is a lovely thread. I have been here since thread one and I don't think I have witnessed one nasty thing said.

@GemmaJen I am basically a walking pharmacy! 😂 I take co enzyme q10, folic acid, fish oil, Maca root, multi vit, vit e, vit c, magnesium, vit d. I am sure there is more but I can't think of them! 😂 I am going to cut down to just coq10, folic Acid, fish oil, vit d and multi vit soon though as I am taking more than my 95 year old granny!

Michelle2018 · 29/12/2018 22:57

@GemmaJen this is our first month of trying. Haven't been temping and don't know how to chart etc. Was trying to be super cool about TTC but this is driving me up the wall. No sign of AF, just the sore boobs and quite dizzy. Wondering whether to book in with the doctor as this is so unusual for me, although they may be of the opinion that a 2 week late period is nothing to be concerned about. Xxx

KatBeCool · 29/12/2018 22:15

@thosethreewords blanket works really well, sometimes I can barely hear the beeping myself. I get same type of reaction to alcohol as like from pollen or dust, exactly like hay fever. About 3-5 hours of complete misery.

ttc12019 · 29/12/2018 21:26

Hi All,

Just wanted to join in too!

I'm 29 and DH is 36.
Ttc #1 after talking about it for months and months and deciding when is the right time and will we ever be financially ready for a baby. Decided to go for it now as there might not be a right time ever if we keep discussing it haha
Just finished AF yesterday.

Hoping to get some advice from everyone and share tips and tricks Smile

Keyboard91 · 29/12/2018 21:18

@19Bee2 @TrashKitten10 I’m also 27 (for another 33 days!) and TTC #1. We’ve had 2 months where we haven’t actively tried but haven’t actively prevented. So this is our first cycle of properly trying :) CD7 today

cupcakesandglitter · 29/12/2018 21:17

@starkid I know that feeling 😂😂 my nipples have been swollen and sore for a week now, and my boobs are so sensitive - WHY DO THEY DO THIS TO US!!!!

starkid · 29/12/2018 21:11

@thosethreewords - maybe I shouldn't care either 😂

Argh guys this is driving me up the wall!
For the previous 2 cycles I had sore, heavy/bigger-feeling breasts for the week before AF, and each time it got me excited thinking it would be the month for a BFP. And it's happening again at 6dpo with AF due next Thursday, and yet again I'm getting up hopes up likely for no good reason other than AF is bang on track Sad
It feels now like if I actually have any possible symptoms, it seems more an indicator of not being pregnant, than the alternative.
Gah! PMS on the pill was so much simpler 😂

TrashKitten10 · 29/12/2018 20:32

@Paddypaws91 Yay, hello to you too! Ah I bet you're driving yourself mad. It's a funny enough week between Christmas and New Years losing track of all time without adding in the TWW. Fingers crossed for you that it's good news and that you stay sane until that point!

@19Bee2 How long have you been waiting to try? It is super exciting, I keep thinking how maybe this will be our last Christmas and New Years as just the two of us. Have you told anybody you're trying?

thosethreewords · 29/12/2018 20:24

@19Bee2 welcome to the group! The more the merrier - it's great getting to know everyone.
Looking forward to work next Wednesday as it's going to be a good distraction! Although it has been nice to be off over Christmas for once!

Paddypaws91 · 29/12/2018 20:23

@19Bee2 back on the 2nd Jan - feels like forever away. Actually looking forward to the distraction of work, haha - how sad!!

Good luck everyone!!!

19Bee2 · 29/12/2018 20:17

Hi @trashkitten10 - it looks like we are! It is so exciting (as well as nerve-wracking as it feels like we have spent so long waiting for the time to arrive!). I hope you get into the swing of tracking your cycles quickly. Such an exciting start to 2019!

Good luck with the TWW @Paddypaws91I hope you can keep busy over the next few days. When do you go back to work?

thosethreewords · 29/12/2018 20:11

@starkid yeah I can understand that - my DH wakes up every day when the beeping of my thermometer goes off... I should be more respectful maybe 😂
@KatBeCool Maybe I should start using the blanket!! My DH is allergic to alcohol (the reason why he doesn't drink) he comes out in itchy hives if he has anything.

cupcakesandglitter · 29/12/2018 20:07

Thanks @GemmaJen I'll be happy with either right now xx
