Loving the support and advice on here already, particularly regarding pressure and stress of TTC. I can already see how that could so easily take over and have almost respect for those of you who are still here supporting others and bringing positivity. Loved your comment about our ultimate lack of control, despite wanting to have it @cupcakesandglitter I think that desire for control is absolutely why I have researched, temped and read all I can before even TTC. My husband tells me I am putting too much stress on myself (which I likely am) but it's how I cope with things. Definitely going to take the advice of you ladies and aim for the relaxed approach if possible.

Hi @Jessikka and @cupcakesandglitter !

Have been reading back through the thread to catch up a bit but as this is already 10 threads in there's bound to be loads I've missed! Grin

I'm 32, on cycle 4 of 'properly' trying - before that I was just letting things settle down after coming off the pill, not tracking dates etc. Having settled into nice regular 32 day cycles, I got my hopes up last month when I had a random 36 day one. Angry

Using the Clearblue digital ovulation tests for the first time this month - has anyone found these useful? Got flashing smiley 'high fertility' yesterday and today, so now impatiently awaiting that static peak...

Looking forward to getting to know you all on this journey!

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 22:34

@MrsH497 sorry, this is going back a few posts but I'm having the opposite - my skin has gotten loads BETTER!

I was given a progesterone only pill and it caused me to develop adult acne around 24/25 and for the last three years it's driven me to despair... I swapped to Cilest which has more Estrogen than Progesterone and it calmed down but deffo still there.

Now two weeks off it and doing au natural my pores have shrank, no oil and spots are going down with no new ones - I can't stop smiling in the mirror!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 22:27

@MrsH497 definitely!! Oh and we didn't have sex anytime I had EWCM, but I'm okay with that!! @Jessikka that's exactly what happened to my mum, it happened every single time. As soon as she just stopped it happened! There was a fab lady @Crossfitgirl (hope you're well!!) who moved into her new home last month I think it was, only had sex once the whole cycle and fell pregnant!! It can happen, we just too easily fall into the trap of pressurising ourselves. I was just speaking to my mum, and she said that we think TTC is bad but then when you get your BFP it gets 10x worse with worry! So relaxing is really the best thing - also sex should be fun, not robotic (we were definitely a little robotic the first few months) XX

@Syncope hi!! Of course you can 😊 we're all a mixture of ages and cycles here so there's plenty of craziness knowledge around 😂 xx

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 22:25

@Syncope hello! I'm new today too - a few hours older than you lol!

These lovely ladies have made me feel at home already!

Syncope · 30/12/2018 22:18

Hello all - is it OK if I join you? On cycle 4 TTC #1 and driving myself mad already!

MrsH497 · 30/12/2018 22:09

No @cupcakesandglitter it does help!! He's I think interested when in my cycle is the "best" time to have sex but I do agree with him. By the sounds of it you've had a much more positive happy and relaxed month!

@Jessikka agree having fun with your OH/DH is the best! Just having sex because you want to because the mood takes you not just because it's the "right" time.

Ladies you all rock xx

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 22:09

@cupcakesandglitter I'm definitely going to remind myself of that post if I find myself getting lost down the rabbit hole.

It's funny, a friend of mine who had struggled for 18m ttc said she just stopped and packed it in. She said she would get into such a state when AF would arrive and it was so stressful she was a mess. She logged out of the forums and just relaxed and like you gave herself a break and conceived that month. When she told me not to obsess with it I told her "no no I won't, if it happens it happens" but I can 10000% see now why people do!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 22:01

@Jessikka same message above applies to you - it is good to know all the lingo and know what to look for when you decide you use OPKs/temp but don't forget that it can make you more stressed. Although we'd like to think were in control, we really aren't x

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 22:00

Thanks @MrsH497 ❤️ I think your DH is right. If I am pregnant, I think it's because we took a month off - for the first time I didn't cry when AF came, I ate and drank (a lot) but without caring or worrying. I know it's so much easier said than done, but actually I've had such a lovely month with DH without knowing where in my cycle I was, and not telling him when I had EWCM meant I couldn't make sure we had sex, and we actually only ended up having sex because we wanted to! We've had months of just doing it to make a baby, and it's not the right reason at all. Sorry if it doesn't help, but I felt more pressured with OPKs/temping etc especially when every body is different and so we panic or overthink everything anyway! Xx

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 21:59

@MrsH497 that's what I'm trying to do though I am slightly obsessing.. though not obsessing with OPKs and POAS I think I'm just trying to learn everything there is so that if I do think I need to start looking into it more I know what I'm doing. I'm definitely a contingency kinda gal! so I like to have facts to read!

I'm not married but my OH and I have been together 10 years and he's been asking for kids for a long time and I kept saying not yet (uni and then working) but im 28 and he's 30 now so I feel like it's our time so just trying to have fun with it and see what happens!

MrsH497 · 30/12/2018 21:47

My skin has gone nuts!! Don't normally get spots and today skin has decided it would be fun to be spotty! Why do hormones do this to us?! Probably about 4/5 days until predicted ovulation according to apps.

DH has said for first few months wants to just see what happens not "try" so I don't get disappointed.

@cupcakesandglitter thinking of you and everything is crossed. 2019 is your year ❤️
X

stormtrooperjulian · 30/12/2018 21:36

@Random2468 looks positive, but like @cupcakesandglitter said, keep testing cos you may get another surge at your usual ov time

@TrashKitten10 I haven’t bought anything either, DH would think that I was being crazy if I bought baby or maternity things before actually getting pregnant so I’m resisting the sales temptation

Random2468 · 30/12/2018 21:29

Thanks guys! Ok I will assume this is a true positive but maybe will bbt for next few days to see as I'm not convinced I can be this early! Damn I said I wasn't going to opk or bbt this cycle as I was becoming obsessive. I've lasted a whole 13 days 🤦🏻‍♀️ why can't I just let nature take its course!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 21:20

Thanks @MrsH497 ❤️

Tell me about it @Jessikka 😂

@Random2468 that's a positive 😊 get DTD!! Your body is ovulating early but that's not a bad thing. I'd do OPKs after too though just in case, as some women will get positive OPKs twice as they may not necessarily have ovulated the first surge x

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 21:16

@Random2468 my very limited experience would say yes? it's a positive?

The control and test line look identical too me. But I'm new and have never used one before.

Jessikka · 30/12/2018 21:13

@cupcakesandglitter good lord man just let her google to her hearts content! Wink

Very exciting!

Random2468 · 30/12/2018 21:13

So now I'm confused.. pretty sure this is a positive OPK right? Chances of false positives...? As I've never ovulated as early as CD 13/14 before.. normally 20/21 and beyond.. or am I just all out of whack after the mc do we think?

TTC FIRST BABY - THREAD 10!
MrsH497 · 30/12/2018 21:13

@cupcakesandglitter keeping everything crossed for you!! X

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 20:42

Thanks @Keyboard91 - I've asked my mum and now she's shouting (lightheartedly) saying that it would happen to her every time too but it's best we 'abstain'! I have one test left, but whether I test tomorrow depends on whether I'm still bleeding or not I guess xx

Keyboard91 · 30/12/2018 20:37

@cupcakesandglitter Sshh DH!!!! This week must be dragging it’s darn heels so much. What day are you next POAS?? I’m keeping my fingers and toes and legs and EVERYTHING crossed for you!

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 20:22

After frantically googling it is very very common in early pregnancy. Cue DH shouting at me that I'm just freaking myself out and to wait a week 😂😂 SHUT UP MATE I NEED TO GOOGLE

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 20:14

@Keyboard91 currently waiting on AF. It's late - but usually starts off dark brown then next day it'll be red etc, but this is pink not red or brown at all x

Keyboard91 · 30/12/2018 20:12

@cupcakesandglitter where are you in your cycle? Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 30/12/2018 20:09

@Jessikka honestly sometimes it hides I swear 😂😂😂

@Random2468 I'm not sure about timing, every woman is different - you should know your pattern after a couple of months. Log it all into FF! Xx

Okay so this is TMI but I had to share it. So I said that my cervix was crazy soft... just had sex with DH. Felt really good but too deep/sensitive. This I could deal with... except I ran to the toilet and then when I wiped there was very very light pink stuff on the tissue. Gross because it was mixed with DH (sorry I did say it's TMI! 😂) But it doesn't feel like AF at all? And I checked my cervix before and it was completely clear... has anyone else had pink blood after sex? I've never had it before 😩
