Pls can someone help a newbie OPK taker... this is negative looking at the description but still has a line... does that mean it will get darker (hopefully!) and become positive?

Jan Bus - new year, BFPs please
thosethreewords · 17/12/2018 13:13

@Msluce hello and welcome to the jan club! I've done my first OPK today and it's made me consider getting the CB ones if I have no luck this cycle because I feel like I need an easy smile or no smile - these ones are a bit subjective! (Tbf I'm CD6 today but last cycle was short so FF predicts fertile window from tomorrow whereas my Fitbit app says next week!)

Msluce · 17/12/2018 11:36

Can I join please 😀

TTC #1
CD #12
Just turned 35 DP 33

So I have wanted a child for a few years but we weren't in a position to do it, but now have our own home, better places in our jobs and I feel completely ready.
We decided to start trying this month as DP ( I've been learning the abbreviations haha) would like a September baby like himself hehe

Anyways, Mirena was removed in October, Pregnacare been taken since November (suggested taking 1 month before trying by dr) and Clear Blue Digital has given me a flashing smile for the last 3 days 👍

As much as I would love to get pregnant first time, I am aware that it may not happen.
I am going to stay positive about this.

So I have the Ovia app and now Flo app and will try and do a test NYE, and if it's a BFP, that's will be a great start to the NY for us.

I wish everyone well who is trying 😊

Frillyfarmer · 17/12/2018 10:02

CD4, I reckon ovulation day is around Xmas but will get some OPK for this month.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 16/12/2018 22:53

I bought the clear blue ones and pre seed. If it hasn't happened by february I'm buying the fertility monitor or the ava bracelet. Also looking at acupuncture in January. I'm so inpatient I just want this now.

LylaBee · 16/12/2018 22:24

I'm also on cd5. I haven't tried OPKs yet so might order some too.

Jess123s · 16/12/2018 21:27

@cloudsurfing I’m on cd5. Going to start using otk on cd8. I just have some cheap ones from amazon -one step I think!

Cloudsurfing · 16/12/2018 19:59

Can I join? This will be second cycle trying, though first one I'm going to properly track. CD4 at the moment. Any recommendations for ovulation testing kits?

emcrave · 16/12/2018 19:39

Thanks @thosethreewords I will keep an eye on it! Hopefully its a one off!

emcrave · 16/12/2018 19:38

No never happened before @Jess123s and has also stopped now! I actually thought of spotting but I think I could be too early in my cycle for it to be that! Will just have to see if it happens again I suppose!

thosethreewords · 16/12/2018 19:37

Congratulations @Jelliestogether!! Great news!
@emcrave - keep an eye on it. Likely will settle down/ could be a one off. I sometimes get it if I'm due on, but few other things can cause it. If it's happening a few times, AF hasn't arrived and BFN, I would probs make an appt to see your GP (disclaimer: I work in healthcare)

Jess123s · 16/12/2018 19:00

Has it ever happened before @emcrave? Are you still bleeding now? I read somewhere that ovulation spotting could occur..could it be that?

HJWT · 16/12/2018 16:51

Congratulations @Jelliestogether such lovely news!

Im currently on CD10 and have just dtd and started to bleed (sorry tmi) really hope AF isn’t trying to make another appearance this month Confused never had this happen before, any ideas?

Jess123s · 16/12/2018 16:33

Congratulations @Jelliestogether!!!

Good luck @Watchingthewheels85 and @farhana170 the tww will hopefully go quickly with it being Xmas and new year.

Sorry for being a bit dumb @TtclAm - do you know if you ovulate or not?

WatchingTheWheels85 · 16/12/2018 15:36

Cd8 here and got a flashy smile on the cb opk. I've always ovulated early conceived dc 3&4 cd 6. So I'm going to use pre seed tonight. Good luck everyone, I've told dh that if it hasn't happened by easter I'm buying another cat Grin

Jelliestogether · 16/12/2018 14:18

@jess123s yes I tested over the weekend....very strong BFP on a frer (the test line darker than control line). Tested again this morning at my OH request...he wanted to check it wasn't wrong! According to my flo app I'm 7+3 which explains why I've been so tired recently! Plus the most painful boobs ever (although I usually get some mild pain before AF). Now to try and hide it over the Xmas period! Good luck to everyone on the Jan bus!

Farhana170 · 16/12/2018 11:25

I think I may have ovulated at cd11 last month as my bbt started to rise from then steadily. I'm cd8 today so will start using opk from today and see if it detects the surge

TtcIAm · 16/12/2018 10:25

cd 13 today for me, i never used to ovulate until day 20 so in the run up now been doing smep, opk and temping hopefully i should ovulate this month

OP posts:
Jess123s · 16/12/2018 09:55

@Farhana170 @emcrave I’m a little like you..not 100% on when I ovulate. I’m on CD5 now. Doing the smep this month and opk just to know when I do ovulate.. desperately trying to keep it chilled though Confused

@Jelliestogether did you test in the end?

Fx for everyone over the Christmas period! Is anyone expecting to test before Xmas??

Jelliestogether · 14/12/2018 20:58

Hi ladies, I would like to also tentatively join the bus too, I'm currently waiting for AF to show before we can ttc. We have been waiting for Jan since September so it's been a long time coming!

We will be TTC#1, it will be our first cycle. We are both 27. My cycles are all over the place and have been for the past 12 months, ranging from 28-50 days. Currently on CD45, no sign of AF yet so may test over the weekend as we have been less and less careful.

SillyYak · 14/12/2018 20:35

Can I join?

39, TTC#2. DD1 nearly 6 now.

AF arrived yesterday, so I'm back on the bus for this month (is that the right turn of phrase?) Next cycle will be our third one trying. Was really easy with DD1 (6) but obviously we're both a lot older now.

I've just downloaded the My Tracker app, and bought some ovulation testing sticks.

Good luck everyone!

emcrave · 14/12/2018 19:50

@Farhana170 It sounds like you had all areas covered! I wanted to take a more relaxed approach but I’m trying to pin point my ovulation dates this month myself so I’m kind of new to all this too! I fell pregant with my first so easily so I expected the same this time around!

Farhana170 · 14/12/2018 19:40

Thanks @emcrave. I was recommended FF app. Although it said i ovulated on 14th because I had a positive opk on 13th... dtd and everything and bfn at the end of it. Wondering if opk is not accurate and I ovulated earlier or later... even then we had all areas covered so don't know what happened:(. We aim to DTD every other day three days after af is gone!

emcrave · 14/12/2018 19:34

@Hazandduck its so awful symptom spotting isn’t it! I convinced myself I was pregnant last month and even didn’t believe it when the tests were negative! Im going to try and wait for AF next month rather than testing early, hoping that softens the blow!

Hi @Farhana170
I downloaded the Ovia app, you put in your details and it tells you when your most likely to ovulate! Although I’m not taking it as solid dates it just gives me a rough idea! Hope that helps Smile
