This is our fourth month TTC baby number 2. Would love a bfp result just before Christmas :) of course unlikely, but here's to hoping!! My fertile few days starts tomorrow .. and then the dreaded two week wait from next week. If anyone would like to go through this month's journey, ups and downs, it would be nice to have some company. And some TTC top tips and advice for the 2ww. I felt very down after my last negative result in November. Good luck to anyone in the same boat Smile. Let's hope for an extra special Xmas surprise.

@Mammy32 oh no Confused if it's light there's always the possibility of implantation ? Bloody AF!

Hope you're okay

Mammy32 · 07/12/2018 09:53

Think I've calculated my dates all wrong. Thought I was 7 days after ovulation, with temperatures and opks, but started bleeding this morningSad.
Don't want to get hopes up thinking its implantation. Think it's just AF earlier than I thought. Good luck everyone else,

Boo2you · 06/12/2018 22:28

So the 'is much' shouldn't be there xx

Boo2you · 06/12/2018 22:27

@GemmaJen good luck hun -hot cider is much is the way forward - it's much nicer eventho I'm not a cider fan when it's hot on a cold day it's amazing!! Xx

GemmaJen · 06/12/2018 21:16

@Manycatsandallthegin luckily I'm not a big drinker, but I won't say no to the odd tiple or two prior to a bfp. Though I'll admit I'm going for the hot chocolate and not the mullled wine, not a fan, lol. Ruining perfectly good wine by making it warm ShockGrin

KernowBee · 06/12/2018 21:02

In regards to ovulation prediction dates. I've been following mine on the Flo app and fertility friend. But when I started using ovulation strips, I learnt I actually ovulated 6 days earlier than I thought, thus not always covering my fertile window.

Not everyone ovulates at the predicted time. Buy some cheap strips online.

I tested at 11am and 5pm each starting from when my period finished.

Manycatsandallthegin · 06/12/2018 20:50

Good luck @GemmaJen will be thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way!

Are you going to have a drink (a drink drink Wine) or going to stay sober on the chance you are mit bebe?

GemmaJen · 06/12/2018 20:47

@Manycatsandallthegin fx for a happy bfp Christmas!

We're heading off to Europe Xmas markets in the morning, hoping it will distract me from poas. I've brought one hpt with me, but gotta hold out till Sunday when it'll be 10dpo. Wish me luck!

90mammasophie · 06/12/2018 19:48

@Topofthehills good luck to you! Hopefully first time lucky Wink

Hi all, can I join?

This is our first month TTC #1 (eek!).

I just turned 31 in November and decided it was time to get started.

I have a history of OCD, so have decided not to go down the OPK/temping route for at least the first few months, because I know I would take it all too far and let it take over my life.

So far we've just DTD every other day since the end of my period. DH seems... ahem... appreciative! Grin

I'm in the middle of my cycle now, and I keep thinking, could today be the day...

Mammy32 · 06/12/2018 18:19

@90mammasophie- so your period would be due 18th/19th. So count back 12-16 days from your predicted period, then these are your most fertile days. So most fertile 3rd til 7th? So have sex lots during this time.
4 months is still completely normal to be trying, so don't need to get too worried about temping or ovulation kits if you don't want. I find temps really useful for me as irregular cycle. Fertility friend is good at explaining how and when to measure temp.

90mammasophie · 06/12/2018 17:02

**November! Not October

OP posts:
90mammasophie · 06/12/2018 17:02

@Mammy32 last P was on 21st October and I'm usually 28 or 29 day cycle. I need to get better at tracking

Manycatsandallthegin · 06/12/2018 14:33

Hi all, please can I join.

Im 28 and officially TTC from this month and enjoying DTD every other day (since my last period finished, because well why not! Grin). Currently on CD 10 and flo is telling me im in my fertile period and there is a “chance to get pregnant” as of today predicting O day on Saturday. however, clue tells me not in my fertile window until saturday and O day on Monday. So just going to keep going and see what happens. Unfortunately, we’re away with family this weekend so that may (will) prohibit any baby making chances I think!
AF/BFP due on christmas day. So will either be a happy christmas or a crappy christmas.

Fingers crossed it all happens easily for all of us, no reason to think not! Positive baby dust for you all! So exciting!

Mammy32 · 06/12/2018 14:25

@90mammaSophie don't worry about not knowing the terms- there are too many!!
how many days is your average cycle and when was the first day of your period this month?

90mammasophie · 06/12/2018 12:47

Thanks everyone.
According to my online ovulation Callander today(!) is my MOST fertile day. I am still quite new to all the Mumsnet terms and ttc words lol. I hadn't yet used any ovulation strips but bought some yesterday and tested yesterday afternoon and just now. And nothing. No line indicating anything. Completely negative. Now I'm really worried that I've messed it all up this month or just not ovulated at all!! I've had no ovulation symptoms. I'm 15 days after first period day ConfusedXmas Sad Very unlikely this will be my month. I don't know how to get better at this TTC situation

KernowBee · 05/12/2018 23:38

So glad you're all joining and we're all at similar times during our cycle! I'm 3DPO.

This month I'm trying to not obsessively symptom watch.

Which means I'm going to obsessively symptom watch. EVERYTHING becomes a possible pregnancy symptom when you're trying! Although, I Had zero symptoms in my first pregnancy. Only clue was I went out for a night out and every drink I tried tasted funny and I couldn't smoke either as that also tasted off. Tested the following day and had the faintest positive!

Quite sensitive nipples Today which isn't usual, but after googling it sounds more like the hormones around ovulation. Bah!!

Baby dust to everyone here. What a fantastic Christmas present for everyone that gets their BFP this month. :)

Mammy32 · 05/12/2018 22:40

Hello everyone! I'm 34 and ttc number 2. Been using temps and opks as this is our 10th month of trying and my periods are quite irregular. I'm dpo 4 or 5 now.
Fingers crossed everyone and good luck. Smile

xlovelyvibes · 05/12/2018 22:39

Hiya. Newbie here I could do with a bit of advice too

I've always had awful irregular periods, and me and my love have started ttc I had a period 21-23rd November and ov day apparently was yesterday I had sex the day before ov day and today and today I have such weird pains in like my uterus? I think I have no idea what they are......

agteacht · 05/12/2018 22:35

Glad everyone is doing okay and I guess we all need to keep looking forward. When I lost my baby last January I never thought that a year later I'd still be here trying to recreate this. Desperately hoping that this is my month... but if it's not I'll keep going of course.

So ladies today is CD24, I unfortunately have long cycles. I had a peak OPK today, last cycle I had one on CD26 so fingers crossed I have had this correct. It can be pretty confusing!

Wishing for you all xx

Pastaallday · 05/12/2018 22:30

Hello I am tentatively joining as am waiting to ovulate since coming off the pill my cycle has been unsettled. Would love to start TTC properly this month! Been using OPK and temping. Also going for acupuncture and taking vitamins etc. Just need my body to catch up now!

Boo2you · 05/12/2018 22:03

@90mammasophie I know what you mean my first pregnancy was unexpected as we were going through the process of PGD due to a genetic condition so we had been using protection but had a healthy DD and the second one we had planned to start TTC the month after before we realised we were already pregnant! Though this baby had the genetic condition we were trying to avoid hence the TFMR!

Boo2you · 05/12/2018 21:55

This will be my 2nd month actively trying and using OPKs - will do my 1st OPK tomorrow as will br cd14 but I usually have a 35 day cycle so will keep testing until I get a positive- last month it was CD22 - we are trying for baby #2 but last year I had to have a TFMR a week before Christmas coz the baby was too poorly- so hoping this Christmas will be better though it is unlikely I will know in time for Christmas either way!!!

GemmaJen · 05/12/2018 07:31

@stokieginge yes it's really easy, just apply a sticky patch and put it under my arm when I get in bed, take it off in the morning and open the app and it syncs. I can't compare temps to another thermometer as I've not temped before, but they are very consistent, I've not found any similarly consistent charts.

Danniiiiii · 05/12/2018 02:36

Hi ladies!

This is month 2 TTC #1 for us! CD2 at the moment so pretty early in this cycle!

Keep wishing the days away! Have got my ovulation strips ready for this month so hopefully things will be successful!

Fingers crossed for everybody TTC!
