@Laney79 I have heard that but I have since done another OPK and it's definitely negative now so god knows whats going on. Not even sure if the second positive was actually positive now as it's faded which I didn't think positives did. FX you get your positive OPK in the next day or so. I am the same and just want my body to get in some sort of routine. x

Laney79 · 04/12/2018 13:30

Hello lovelies. I'll apologise now-tried to keep up with the thread but been away a few days and it's gotten a bit long to catch up properly!!

@strawberrye sounds like you did the right thing by checking-I'd be the same. Would your EPAU be able to shed any light at all? Mine has been fantastic...

On that note @Lilimum5 is it worth trying to get the referal via your EPAU instead of GP if they are being difficult? I know mine has said if I have a third MC they'd refer me to Prof Quenby at Coventry...worth asking?

@Yukka fab scan news-please do stick around. I for one need the hope and positivity that comes when one of us is successful! Keeping all crossed for you.

@SerenaOverjoyed not sure what the season is but I loved Bali/Borneo/langkawi. Could Dubai also be worth a look?

@Boboelephant I feel your pain-one if my best mates is booked in for a section first week of jan (she lost the one before at 16 weeks) and a school friend who caught with her first just as I lost Bean is nearly 38 weeks now-have snoozed her on FB as it's just all about the bump...can't take it. Feel mean but it's self preservation me thinks. Penguin squishies back at ya. @Dimblebimble See above!

@KnitKitty These appointments are real double edged swords aren't they. I know I swing from feeling Uber positive that I'm doing something to panicking that they are just seeing me to shut me up. It's so hard. I completely get feeling down. I really hope they can help you, and that it doesn't take too long. That's what really messes with your head on my opinion, the waiting.

@DayDreamer1707 and @OctoberGirl91 opks can throw odd results now and then. One thing I didn't realise until I was waiting for my negative preg test after my second MMC is that they can throw positives if you still have/have new HCG in the system as the LH hormone and HCG hormone is very similar (I was getting faint BFPs and blazing positive opks at the same time!) -I don't want to give false hope but maybe worth doing a preg test if you haven't already.

@fnej01 Smart move with the referrals! Fingers crossed you get the answers you need.

Sorry to those I haven't mentioned-hugs and baby dust to all.

I'm waiting for my positive opk. CD12 currently and been away for the weekend so had a couple of good BD's! Hoping my cycle is what it was prior to MMC 2 as I was ovulating cd14/15 so timing would be good. Using clear blue connected opks and ic's. Clear blue showing low fertility though which is worrying-would've thought my eostrogen would have been rising by now so I should be getting high fertility before peak thurs/fri...had definite ewcm this morning though. Very odd! But then this is first proper cycle since losing Bow, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I just want my body to sort itself out so I can get pregnant again. 8 months till I'm 40...my clock is not ticking it's positively hammering like Big Ben on steroids...

DayDreamer1707 · 04/12/2018 11:26

@OctoberGirl91 I hope AF stays away for both of us but if not then hopefully we will have a simpler more clear cycle next month FX. I haven't done any test as of yet and I want to but only to see a positive, I am trying my hardest to hold off!!! I'm sure there is nothing wrong with you, just your body trying to get back into the swing of things xx

@strawberrye I hope you get things sorted and you aren't messed around. That is the last thing you need on top of everything else x

@KnitKitty @boboelephant @rdm10 @SerenaOverjoyed @TinselBee @DayDreamer1707 @fnej01 thank you all for your reply. I know RMC comes under gynae but my local rmc and fertility unit are in a separate place, not the local hospital where the general gynae stuff happens which is why I was skeptical about it. I have phoned the RMC secretaries who said it doesn't look like I am being seen by one of their consultants for that appointment and are looking into it to see if the referral has been made the to wrong place. My GP did say she would have to ask their secretary about the right place to send it and I wonder if they couldn't find RMC on choose and book so have just plumped for a general gynae clinic instead Hmm will see what happens when I hear back from them - really don't want to wait 3 months to be seen in the wrong clinic!

ratherbeshowjumping · 04/12/2018 11:12

Morning everyone,
@KnitKitty - sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. It is so hard to stay positive.

I am on CD12, counting miscarriage day as CD1, and am getting lots of EWCM but no +ive OPK - I have the digital ones so very easy to read.
My last little bean was conceived on either CD11 or 12 last time - which just so happens was the only days I forgot to take OPKs to work.
We dtd yesterday and will try and pounce on DH again tonight, but my question is, is EWCM normal after mc before 1st period at random times or is it a sign of ovulation? I'm so confused.

fnej01 · 04/12/2018 11:06

@KnitKitty sorry to hear you are feeling despondent. I think you need to view the tests as milestones along the journey. That's the way I am finding best to cope. Getting tests underway is a good first step. Keep your chin up. When I get hope I will look up what tests I've got on specific days and let you know

@strawberrye my first referral I think was to general gynae, but since then I've had another mc. Whilst in EPU I asked who I was best to see for my recurrent mc and the gave the secretaries name. I then contacted the secretary asking to get my appointment to the right clinic. Winging it a bit, but might be worth a go. I also at the same time went to gp for referral to Tommy's. Both referrals mean 2 lots of tests but I'm 38 so I decided I would just push my luck and see what happened.

@Boboelephant hope you are doing well and you get a miracle for Xmas.

OctoberGirl91 · 04/12/2018 10:27

Took 5 weeks and 1 day from ERPC to AF and it was a lighter one than usual not very heavy!

I keep convincing myself I've got a progesterone problem! I know I swore to myself this month I wouldn't keep doing pregnancy tests all time as I drive myself crazy especially when I should be nearly 18 weeks pregnant just sucks!

Hope AF stays away xx

DayDreamer1707 · 04/12/2018 10:15

@OctoberGirl91 I would say your new one is more of a positive personally but I'm no expert as I don't know about my own. I'm same as you, just got teary sat at my desk, I'm so emotional so I'm thinking AF most be coming, otherwise I'm losing it!! I'm currently CD21 and before my MMC I had cycles of around 23 days. Got my first positive OPK on CD12 and then what I think could be another positive on CD18. I don't dare do a test, I sometimes think do one and then I know where I stand and then I think no, just wait for AF. How long did AF take after the ERPC? Do you think the bleeding on Friday could of be ovulation bleeding? These are my OPKs x

OctoberGirl91 · 04/12/2018 10:02

Yes I have got a feeling my body has geared up and then egg hasn't been released. I think five myself a hard time sometimes because I so desperately wanted to be pregnant again before end of year but I know if I am not successful will be new year before I ovulate again.

This was the other positive I got but it was only 7/8 days after AF. Done a FRER just to check and it's definitely BFN.

Fx for you @DayDreamer1707

DayDreamer1707 · 04/12/2018 09:56

@OctoberGirl91 I have had 2 positive through my cycle this month on these tests. The first one I am thinking was more my ovulation. I had the OB and pains to go with it but then a week later had another positive, which has faded now but only had cramps with that one. I have put it down to my body still being pretty confused. I have read that people have Ovulated really late like you, our bodies have been through quite a lot. Could be similar to me and your body still trying to figure it's self out again. It's so hard not knowing whats going on x

OctoberGirl91 · 04/12/2018 09:43

Feeling really confused I had my first AF after ERPC on 10th November. Had been using CB to track ovulation this month but ran out of sticks at CD18 and still getting highs after 8 days! Been feeling rubbish past few days and had some pink blood in with EWCM on Friday so did an OPK today and for first time ever with the cheap ones I got a blazing positive!

I am on CD25 seems really late for ovulation anyone experienced such a long cycle after ERPC which was 8 weeks ago now!

I had thought I had a positive early on but must not of done, got all symptoms of ovulation as well right sided pelvic pain which is unusual for me as I usually ovulate from left, and cervix is so high can't feel it.

Just feeling confused x

DayDreamer1707 · 04/12/2018 09:10

I'm having a right moment lately - cue rant. My emotions are definitely getting the better of me and nothing being particularly clear its just frustrating me so much.

My Ovia app says to test this Friday after my positive OPK the other week, which I think I had OB. But then after what I think could also be a positive OPK this Saturday I'm now thinking I haven't even ovulated this month now. I don't know if to just test so that then my mind is put to ease and I can just wait for AF and hopefully have a more clear cycle next month. Or if to just hold out for AF anyway which could take ages yet as it's still my first proper cycle since MMC.

Feeling extremely all over the place today and yesterday!! What do I do....

@Lilimum5 Least you are having some test done but I think it would put your mind at ease if you was being referred.

@Dimblebimble It always seems like when you go through a loss everyone around you is having a baby....it does get easier I suppose

@fnej01 Hope the test go well and you get some answers hun
@Yukka least things are looking positive for you x
@strawberrye waiting around can be so cruel, so sorry x

TinselBee · 04/12/2018 08:54

Dimblebimble difficult isnt it hearing about other people's pregnancy successes! Makes me feel guilty about how easy we had it with DS.

KnitKitty oh i am sorry, that is tough Sad I reallyhope that your womb is up to scratch or there are some solutions that are viable to help you

Boboelephant that is what I thought too from reading around it, plus reading the leaflet from the EPU on Miscarriage last night. Rang EPU again this morning and they said if bleeding gets any heavier they will move my surgery forward to ensure I have it.

SerenaOverjoyed no recommendations from me I am afraid, hope you can find somewhere nice.

strawberrye oh that is such a long wait. I believe MCs fall under gynae ? At least it appears that way in my NHS Trust.

oh Tiniestsky I am so sorry. I hope that the 3 months wait allows you to have some physical and mental healing and you strike lucky 1st try after

Yukka great news about the scan lovely

Lilimum5 hope you get somewhere with a different DR (my GP surgery is like yours too)

I am wishing everyone a good Tuesday, as good as it can be anyway! xx

SerenaOverjoyed · 04/12/2018 08:22

Opps KnitKitty didn't know you already had a uterus diagnosis. Ignore me, do what you need to x

SerenaOverjoyed · 04/12/2018 08:19

Lilimum5 Woah, your GP has no clue. Pleased to see you're making a new appointment. Maybe print out some info on rmc to give them a prompt? What a pain in the arse for you.

boboelephant Baby bombs everywhere! Take cover!

strawberrye That's ages. It might be Christmas buggering it up Sad Mine said gynae as I was seen by a (pretty unhelpful tbh) staff grade gynaecologist for bloods and an exam, and they said I'd see the big cheese for results. Perhaps it's the same plan, other people seem to have met the rmc consultant from the first go.

KnitKitty Glad to hear the appointment was helpful if a bit depressing. I'd try not to worry about anything until you get actual results, massively easier said than done though.

Yukka hooray for a good scan! The heparin sounds like something to be endured. Will it be for your whole pregnancy?

I'm ok. No scan for 10 days so I think I'm fixating on ridiculous little things to channel my worry. Currently it's that the christmas tree is drooping, which is causing disproportionate distress Blush poor tree may be needlessly replaced due to miscarriage fear projection. stares at tree but it is drooping my poor dh

Speaking of ridiculous problems, has anyone got any January tips for a hot zika free holiday? Mauritus/seychelles are tempting but in the wet cyclonic season, and annoyingly 2-3 times the price of a week in Mexico. Zika has been pretty annoying, we haven't been able to go where we want to on holiday for 18 months now.

KnitKitty · 04/12/2018 07:53

Thanks @Boboelephant. Are you in FW now? Hoping for a miracle for you this month. xxx

@rdm10 I have uterus didelphys. There's different ways this can present. For me I had two wombs and one of everything else. For complicated reasons I had surgery 10 years ago to have one of the wombs removed (I had also previously had to have the ovary on that same side removed due to a cyst). The womb which was removed was attached to the other one but had no outlet to my cervix.
This condition can cause problems later on in pregnancy as the womb(s) tends to be smaller and might not be able to expand fully to bring a baby to term, so premature birth and caesarean are far more likely. Looks like my doctor is wondering if the womb I've been left with isn't up to scratch. Could be scarring from my previous surgery or something causing issues.

ratherbeshowjumping · 04/12/2018 07:47

@rdm10 I also have a bicornate uterus. I was told there's no reason to panic about this, is this not the case?

rdm10 · 03/12/2018 22:58

@hayleyfx so sorry to hear your news

@strawberrye I think long waiting times are unfortunately the norm. My last mc was in August and my rmc appointment isn’t until the end of jan!

@knitkitty what is the ‘problem’ with your uterus? I have a bicornuate uterus and I’m pretty sure that’s what’s causing my mcs. Although I know people do have healthy pregnancies when the baby is in the ‘horn’, my ds wasn’t in the horn but both mcs were.
But I do have ds so it is entirely possible to have a healthy pregnancy with a dodgy uterus!

Lilimum5 · 03/12/2018 22:42

Thanks everyone I think I need to make another appointment to ask the question. We don't have a certain doctor at my surgery we get who ever is available.

Boboelephant · 03/12/2018 22:22

@hayleyfx oh love I'm so sorry you're going through this again. It's so unfair. Sending huge hugs and I think a break for your body and soul is a good idea. I hope you get some answers and your rainbow next year.
@Holly5633 welcome and so sorry for your losses. Hope RMC can give you some answers.
@KnitKitty Thanks hun. Glad your appointment went well. I had all those tests too. Yukka has already answered in excellent detail but I agree that progesterone doesn't seem that important for you as you are clearly ovulating as you're getting pregnant. Hope you get some answers! Keep hope hun, I have everything crossed for you.
@Justincase87 I'm sorry for all the unknowing. Fingers crossed for you it's all ok.
@Tinselbee I was actually told by the doc after my ERPC that there was no medical need to wait. Your body is apparently primed for pregnancy after loss. Of course doesn't happen for everyone but lots do get pregnant very quickly again so I'd take MIL advice with a pinch of salt. The surgery was quick and not too bad. My EPU offered to scan before if you were bleeding so maybe they'll see if the surgery is still needed. Sounds like your body might be starting the process naturally though.
@fnej01 good luck for your investigations.
@Yukka great news that all is well!
@Lilimum5 I second the others. Can you ask for another GP? Surely the fact you are getting but not staying pregnant is the exact reason you should be referred to the RMC? Also did he just take blood himself? The tests mentioned above need to be done at certain times in your cycle so you should be referred to a hospital so they can adhere to this. I do hope you get the right support and answers soon hun.
@Tiniestsky sorry you've had to have the methoextorate but hopefully this helps close this chapter. I've experienced the 3 month wait too after an ectopic rupture which is hard but good to give your body a rest.
@strawberrye sorry its such a long wait. I second what KnitKitty said.

Ahh there's more but this has taken so long to write! Sending hugs to everyone feeling sad, low or who's been hit with the baby bump news. I've got two friends about to pop and another announcement today too. Still makes me want to cry. Big penguin squishes.

Dimblebimble · 03/12/2018 21:05

first post-mc pregnancy announcement today, they'd only been trying since August 🙈😫 also one of those people who has been handed everything in life on a plate and everything seems to fall into place for them, life is unfair sometimes. 😬

KnitKitty · 03/12/2018 20:06

@Lilimum5 I find it really odd that they won't refer you to the recurrent miscarriage clinic. Could you see another doctor?

@Yukka Thanks for the info hun. Makes sense. And thank you for the book recommendation.

Tiniestsky sorry for what you're going through chicken. An enforced break from trying should be restful and let you heal both mentally and physically; although I know how frustrating it feels to have to wait. As for being scared it'll happen again; this is what we all feel like and why we're all in this together. There's no magic want to take away those fears, but there is support and understanding. You just have to take each day at a time; each moment as it comes and you have to allow yourself to hope. Stay strong. Hope the medication works. xxx

@fenj01 Interesting. I wasn't told mine needs to be a certain CD? I wondered about being referred to Tommy's but I can't be bothered with the hassle of it to be honest. They'd probably love me with my odd anatomy though. Yes, I understand that feeling of wanting to justify yourself... Can't quite put my finger on why that is. I'll be having my next appointment to discuss results in about 10 weeks too, so looks like December, January and most of February are not for baby making. I'm just going to try and focus on other things and not let the wait for the results drive me nuts!

@strawberrye EEeeesh!!! That's a long wait!! I would ring them tomorrow to confirm you've been referred for recurrent miscarriage It's usually a branch of the gynae ward, but my letter did specify recurrent miscarriage, so it's worth queering. I would also ask if it's possible to be put on a cancellation list. My referral was sent on the 11th October and received a letter saying they knew I was waiting for an appointment but they couldn't offer me an appointment just yet and would be contacted again as soon as possible, BUT I was rung by the hospital last week offering me a cancellation appointment for today.

Well I've digested today a little bit more now and I'm not feeling very optimistic truth be told. He gave the impression that he expects my womb itself to be the cause of the problem; and did mention problems after 12 weeks being common. I'm just not sure TTC is the right thing for me. I'll have some answers in February I guess, but I'm not expecting great things. Just feeling a bit down.

strawberrye · 03/12/2018 19:42

Oh and @Yukka glad to hear things are progressing nicely with your pregnancy

strawberrye · 03/12/2018 19:41

@KnitKitty glad to hear the RMC went well

@Tiniestsky sorry that you have needed to have methotrexate, I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you now and that the time off is recuperating for you

@Lilimum5 thats very odd that he won't refer you - surely by definition a lot of women referred to RMC don't have "problems" getting pregnant but do staying pregnant? I would see another GP for a second opinion if I were you

Feeling I was doing pretty well today until I got home to a letter about my referral, clinic appointment isn't until late February which is 12 weeks since original referral, and just says its general gynae clinic not recurrent miscarriage?? Was really hoping we'd be seen a bit sooner than that.
