@Chilliandlime I woke up in the night really bad cramps and couldn't sleep one week on from the Erpc. Today I passed quite a big clot so I am now wondering if this was some sort of missed product and hopefully now I will stop bleeding. Although I know it is normal for at least 2 weeks.

How long did most peoples AF take to arrive after the Erpc?

Xxxx

Chilliandlime · 13/12/2018 18:42

@Lilimum5 I am paranoid about having 2 erpcs in 4.5 months because of reading about Ashermans, I know the risks are officially low but can't stop worrying about it this week on top of everything else, didn't find either erpc too bad but would scared to have a 3rd so soon. However, medical management sounds really painful in many cases and sorry to hear you had a bad experience with it. Hopefully they scan me and don't find anything...

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 18:24

@Chilliandlime yes I went for medical management but I wish I hadn't hun I should have had the erpc instead

Chilliandlime · 13/12/2018 18:11

@Lilimum5 thanks for the advice, that's really helpful to know. I just spoke to a nurse in the day care unit and left a message with the epu, hopefully can get a scan tomorrow. If I hadn't had one already I would have thought this was normal as it's not too uncomfortable, but feels weird. Sorry I'm sure you've already said but did you have to have another erpc or medical management after they found retained product? Xx

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 17:54

@Chilliandlime hi hun I don't want to scare you but that's what mine felt like and I had retained products. If you are a tall worried call the epu that's what they are there for. It's probably nothing to worry about but at least you will feel better for asking the question. Xx

Chilliandlime · 13/12/2018 15:47

Hi, can anyone advise on post-erpc/surgical management pain. After my first one I had bleeding for 2 weeks but don't remember any pain. After this one a week ago I've had almost no bleeding (possibly as was earlier?) but had a few sharp pains the next day and slightly odd twinges since then, feels very different to period like cramps. It's making me really paranoid that something was damaged!

@TinyPaws, Lilimum5, wanderlustgirl, awakeatnight am so sorry for what you're going through xx

SerenaOverjoyed · 13/12/2018 15:01

awakeatnight I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so unfair. My RMC tests have been:

  • bloods for: thrombophilias (blood prone to clotting), thyroid, progesterone, FSH (the hormone that makes us ovulate I think..? The things you learn from google), lupus, and certain antibodies alongside a full blood count and numerous others to check general health. Definitely forgotten a few.
  • An ultrasound - but I think this is because I rung a few PCOS alarm bells
  • A physical exam for fibroids and swabbing for chlamydia (I'm the only one I know who got the swab, may just be the lovely part of the world I live in!)
  • They also wanted a sperm sample from DH

There was a protocol and questionnaire they failed to show me until the 2nd apt which messed everything up and I never actually saw the consultant when I ended up on my 5th pregnancy. Most other ladies seem to have more efficient care though and have seen the consultant on their initial appointment.

Justincase87, MeghanV07 and Yukka so pleased you're ticking along. Really sobering what Yukka said about so few of the recent bfps still carrying on. We are a sorry cohort, but made up of totally amazing women. Star

Laney79 It's good that you finally got that damn flashing smiley. A shame it seems to have cropped up at the worst possible time, another ttc example of sod's law. Sorry about the crap AF timing on christmas day. You never know, you may be fertile for a few days yet.

lilimum5 You poor thing, this is really dragging on for you. Fingers crossed you get a good clean out at your AF and you can start moving on.

TinyPaws I'm so bloody sorry. Flowers

I'm still hanging on. Went to EPU as advised after 2 weeks for a rescan and they were not expecting me, apparently my notes suggested I wasn't to come back unless there was a problem. V weird as myself and DH definitely remember being asked to return in 2 weeks. They did a super brief abdominal scan and saw a heartbeat so I'm relieved by that. They were rushing through so so didn't measure of visualise the baby's head (!!), apparently this is normal for a non internal scan..

The hospital have mistakenly booked me for my 12 week scan on Monday with a consultant apt after. I think I'm just going to cheekily turn up for the proper scan, I'm sure the 1st one got my dates wrong. and I would like to be sure that the bean has a head.

MeghanV07 · 13/12/2018 12:59

@DayDreamer1707 I know I need to remember I am pregnant. And that's a good thing! Good luck with your smep! I was going to do that and have seen that there's so many positives stories from it!

@Laney79 that's what I think, if anything does happen, then I have evidence that my does exist.

@Yukka I felt like this morning again. I felt absolutely awful yesterday, felt normal today then having waves of it again today. I just need to chill but am so paranoid! How are you? Just keep asking for those scans.

@Justincase87 keep strong lovely! I'm now into my 6th week where I started bleeding when I was 6+4 so I'm a bit anxious this week.

@Lilimum5 I'm okay thanks lovely, trying to take each day as it comes. I think the 3 months is bull! I think I'm sure I didn't ovulate till my 3rd cycle after mc. So please don't stress about that.

Welcome to the new ladies, I'm sorry you find yourself here but there's a lovely bunch of ladies in here who can keep you a tiny little bit sane ❤️

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 12:45

@wanderlustgirl welcome and sorry for your loss. I hope this group (affectionately known as the penguin 🐧 huddle) can bring you comfort and support in one of the worst times. Feel free to rant, ask advice and share your journey good or bad. We've all been there or are going through it too so we "get it" hun xx

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 12:24

@awakeatnight I'm so sorry this happened to you again. Please look after yourself. I've not been referred myself so I can't advise. Maybe @KnitKitty can help or one of the other ladies.

wanderlustgirl · 13/12/2018 12:17

I'm so sorry for everyone losses 💐 it's the hardest thing in the world.

Let me dip my toe into this tbread

TTC # 1
27
1 MMC 1 Dec at 10 weeks, baby measured 9 with no heartbeat. d&c last week and now awaiting period to start trying again.

Positive thoughts for 2019 for everyone xxxx

awakeatnight · 13/12/2018 11:58

Hi ladies, it's been a while but sadly I'm back amongst you. I had a reassurance scan this morning at what should have been 10+5. There was no heartbeat and the baby measured around 17mm so made it to about 8 weeks. This is my third mc (MMC in April baby was 10 weeks, CP around 5 weeks in August and now this) so I'm now on the waiting list for RMC. Can anyone that's been through this give me the low down on what tests etc to expect there and if there's anything particular i should push for?

Maybe it's not sunk in yet but i don't feel quite so decimated this time round. I think I'd programmed myself to expect bad news rather than good today. Is that wrong?

I hope there have been some happy stories since I was last here mid October. I can't bring myself to read through the thread but I have thought of you all often and grateful for your presence xx

DayDreamer1707 · 13/12/2018 11:55

@Lilimum5 maybe I should do a test and see if there's some magic happening to me then...highly doubt it!! I had my MC in October too and this would be my 2nd AF if it was that. Sorry it's taking your body so long but least you will know your body will have had time to recover. I hope it does come soon for you so you can get back on track FX.

@TinyPaws I am so sorry this is happening to you, I will be thinking of you and hope you get your referral x

Needadoughnut · 13/12/2018 11:53

I'll jump in!

This is our 6th cycle, had a loss almost 3 months ago. It still breaks my heart to get AF. hypothyroidism is the culprit according to my endocrinologist

I'm 34, he's 39 and we both have children from previous relationships so we thought it would be easy.

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 11:47

@TinyPaws I'm so sorry hun. I wish words could help you. I'm sending you hugs and healing thoughts xx be kind to yourself

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 11:45

@DayDreamer1707 know idea just guessing Xmas day or that week at the moment it's my first af since the mc in October.
The magic three months sujests that you are more fertile for 3 months after mc or birth. I've no idea why

TinyPaws · 13/12/2018 11:25

@MeghanV07 @Yukka @Russkispy @Mistymeow @KnitKitty Thanks for the support/sympathies

@Mistymeow Congrats on your IVF referral, fingers crossed it works out for you

@Laney79 @Lilimum5 Thanks for asking, I'm not too good. I started to bleed heavily yesterday and it's still in full flow today.

I'm trying to get referred to a recurrent miscarriage clinic as I actually think I had a CP in July of this year, which with this miscarriage takes me to 3. I want to be referred to the clinic at Coventry but my GP doesn't think she's allowed to send me there due to CCG rules as it's technically out of area, although not very far away!

Funny, I thought all this NHS reorganisation etc was supposed to give patients more choice but it seems to have had the opposite effect.

I'll not be able to TTC again until March/April at earliest as going to hopefully get some tests done and switch clinics before transferring our remaining embryo.

DayDreamer1707 · 13/12/2018 11:16

@Lilimum5 I know, I sometimes think about just doing a test so I know it wasn't implantation bleeding or anything and I will know it's just my MC a couple of months ago randomly messing me up. When are you due AF? What's the magic 3 months extra fertile....x

Lilimum5 · 13/12/2018 11:05

@Laney79 I hear that Christmas day period fear. If I go with my usual 33 days from mc to af (everytime same number of days) it works out the Christmas day will be crap for both of us hun. When the universe kicks you it makes sure you stay down. Maybe next year will be our year xx

@TinyPaws how are you hun.
@DayDreamer1707 what a strange af you've had let's hope things are now back to "normal" whatever that is.
@Yukka and @Justincase87 please let us know how you get on
@meghan07 how are you hun
@Mistymeow great to hear your getting somewhere closer to your beautiful rainbow baby x
@Dimblebimble and @granolacrayons and @KnitKitty and @Boboelephant and @Beaglemum93 and @hayleyfx and anyone else I didn't mention I'm thinking of you x

I'm still frustrated with waiting for AF to arrive so that we can try again. But I think we will miss the magic 3 months extra fertile. Also I can't wait to start using my fertility monitor as I will feel more in control again x

DayDreamer1707 · 13/12/2018 10:16

@Laney79 well I have had nothing through the night or this morning so looks like its over. Was extremely light and more spotting than an actually flow. Would of understood if this was my first AF since my MC but who knows what our bodies are actually doing. I have never used CB as there so expensive and as you can tell I still don't have a clue about my cycles ha. Not on Christmas Day that is the worst!!!

@Justincase87 I am sure everything is fine but I would feel the same as you. I hope you feel sick soon too in a nice way just so it give you peace of mind.

@Yukka I am consistently having mini meltdowns as the moment or I'm just losing it. Hormones are killing me this month, wish I could blame it on pregnancy but nope....I'm just being a crazy b**ch 😂

Laney79 · 13/12/2018 08:40

@DayDreamer1707 it's so frustrating not knowing isn't it. Surely it's bad enough we have to lose our little ones, without having months of worry and uncertainty with our cycles. Fingers crossed it's as you say the end of AF and you are into a fresh cycle.

I got a peak fertility today on the clear blue, and positive ic opks...so the damn clear blue only have one day warning of highfetility rather than the 4 it's meant to (sorry TMI but...) we tried to DTD last night but oh didn't finish and he's woken with a cold this morning so I think that's me out this month. And to top it off if my luteal phase stays consistent AF is due Christmas Day! Merry Christmas Laney

@Yukka and @Justincase87 keeping everything crossed for both of you-let us know how your scans go?

@Lilimum5 @TinyPaws how are you guys doing? Xxx

Justincase87 · 12/12/2018 20:11

@yukka I had a scan at 7+4 which was perfect, not been offered anything extra. I've had a teeny bit of spotting tonight but hoping it was from dtd last night! First time since I found out I was pregnant so it was needed! (Sorry tmi) also have some back pain but I've been sat in a hard chair all day and went straight to bed when I got home. Trying to keep positive but I'm not doing well, it's so hard having to keep a brave face for DH and my parents who keep saying it will all be ok! My 12 week scan is 31st December which feels like a horrible day to have a scan. Will be keeping everything crossed with you X

DayDreamer1707 · 12/12/2018 19:40

@Laney79 had a brownish blood clot today and literally no bleeding for the past two days...so confusing. Which will mean I've have the lightest AF ever. I'm hoping this just means it's the end of my AF. But still having slight cramps, just wish I knew what my body was doing 😫. How are you getting on??

Yukka · 12/12/2018 19:36

@meghan07 and @justincase87 are you having any reassurance scans at all? Some places only do this after x3 mcs.

My milestone is 10 weeks... bloody Christmas week. Just got to stay positive though im feeling ok again after mini meltdown. I’m in for another scan next week at 8w4 and I’m going to ask for another in new year week which would make me 10w4.

The penguins by the way is the penguin huddle... they huddle round each other for care and safety x

@meghanV07 @yukka - same for me today - I'm struggling as my last miscarriage the baby passed at 8+4 and I'm currently 8+1 - don't feel pregnant at all today, but hoping I'll start feeling nauseous again soon! It's so bloody hard symptom watching constantly
