Hello ladies! @KnitKitty, @strawberrye and @RedRobin7 thank you for asking after me. I have been thinking of you all but I fell off the thread in December around my one year anniversary of being on it/last MC and then wasn't sure how to come back. I logged in a few times but felt I couldn't keep up!

As I've said previously I'm in a very different place now to most on the thread as it's been 13 months since my last loss and have secondary infertility but I still feel very invested in my penguin pals.

I'm so sorry to see so many new names and some of familiar ones still here. @Lilimum6 sending hugs love- so sorry to see you've had another loss.
@RedRobin7 so happy DH has changed his mind and yay for new dogs!
@KnitKitty good luck for the new job tomorrow!!!

No lucky bfp for me but since my appt with the fertility doc in Nov I've just been waiting to start IVF. We were away over Christmas and the clinic closed so it was a matter of waiting for Dec AF to start and then wait for day 21 of that cycle. Which is today!! So I have had my first sniff of my sniffing drugs this morning which shuts down the ovaries and I carry on until AF starts. Then it's scan and injections time. Let's hope that this is it and the last 2.5 years of trying for number 2 will end with an October baby!! 🤞🌈🤞🌈

Big love to all and hugs to those who need it 🐧🐧

RedRobin7 · 11/01/2019 08:20

@rdm10 Sorry you are having a tough time. I really hope we all have a better year! I plan to test on Wednesday, I'll be 14dpo. Usually that's the day my period would come but since being on metformin it's never on time anymore. I'm like 90% sure I'm not pregnant and that my body is just being cruel teasing me but I'm too impatient to wait for my period! My boobs are so full and sore but it makes no sense they've come back for the first time in a year and Why this month of all months! Head f*ck.

@Lilimum6 and @Laney79 thanks ladies! Fingers crossed for BFPs and healthy babies this year.

@KnitKitty I thought about messaging you too but decided to check on here first to see if you were around. I didn't realise it was exactly 3 months ago that I left the thread. No idea where that time has gone!

Oh no, that must have been so hard with the pea reference. I understand how you're feeling with it now being one year on. We found out I was pregnant on 20th Jan so having that coming up I've not been coping well and started counselling again and took this week off work rather last minute just to have so time to myself. Since my DH has decided we will start trying again I feel like a weight has been lifted. It's amazing how much wanting a baby can consume us! I am so scared at the same time.

You sound like you're being so strong by putting your new job and the wedding first. I hope you're okay underneath all those layers! What was the MRI test for - I don't remember reading about that?

I have been thinking about @Boboelephant too and hoping things are okay.

You may remember we are Guide Dog boarders - getting a new doggy today! Our first one stayed with us longer than she was supposed to so we had her for most of July - December which was nice. She helped me to get through the second miscarriage. I feel like this is a fresh start and a new dog for a new beginning. I'll post a pic later 😊

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 21:54

I hope it won't be too much of a wait for you @strawberrye!

strawberrye · 10/01/2019 21:47

@Beaglemum93 Not actually had a diagnosis but I think I have Hashimotos. My TSH in December was over 60 and I have positive anti-TPO antibodies. So I'm on levothyroxine and praying my TSH is around 2 when I get it checked again so I can get back to TTC.

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 21:22

@strawberrye what's wrong with your thyroid? I'm wondering because I have an overactive thyroid. Are you on medication for it?

strawberrye · 10/01/2019 20:59

@janey15 that's totally understandable, just try to take things as they come and you can start trying again when you feel ready

@RedRobin7 welcome back and I hope 2019 brings lots of luck for you

@rdm10 sorry to hear about your news, what a confusing and upsetting time. I hope you get some resolution soon.

@Beaglemum93 that's awful - you ought to feed that back even if it is just to raise the issue with the admin systems.

@Laney79 glad you are feeling more positive, I was worried about your before Christmas. It can be a really difficult time. I wish you lots of luck in 2019 too!

@KnitKitty sorry to hear your appointment is so far away, I completely understand how frustrating it can be. Still waiting for my RMC appointment and it feels time is really dragging! Best of luck for your MRI results. Sending you hugs with the upcoming difficult dates too. How goes your knitting? My rainbow blanket has red and orange and I am now on yellow - will have a blanket before even a BFP at this rate!

@boboelephant I have also been thinking of you and hope things are either going swimmingly with the IVF or that you got a sods law BFP right before starting!

@MakeLemonade Well done on going back to work and hope it gets better for you.

@Lilimum6 thinking of you and praying things work out for you, you've had such a royally shit time Flowers

Well I've been quiet for a couple of reasons, not actually TTC at the moment as still waiting for my thyroid to get into a safe range for pregnancy, that and have loads going on at work at the moment including some professional exams soon. RMC appointment in a month, feeling really nervous.

Laney79 · 10/01/2019 20:58

@Lilimum6 I'm telford-tell you what I'll send you a private message, then we won't fill the feed up with local bits!

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 20:57

@Laney79 really who did you ask and I'll request then at my scan. Where do you come from then hun Telford or near by

Laney79 · 10/01/2019 20:54

@Lilimum6 I had mine at Telford!

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 20:50

@Laney79 I asked with the last mmc but Telford hospital don't support its use. They don't even offer MVA it just medical management via pessary or d & c.

Laney79 · 10/01/2019 20:46

@KnitKitty you sound in a good place at the moment from your post-plans in place and things to work towards with your appointments and the wedding too. Hope the new job goes well!

@MakeLemonade sounds like a really tough day, big hugs. I looked at the smep plan but it just wouldn't work for us. My fella isn't as active as some in the bd dept so have to time things carefully. I hope it works for you.

@Beaglemum93 fingers crossed for you too.

@Lilimum6 I really feel for you. It's awful when you are left like this. Is there any point in asking if taking mifepristone as well as misoprostol would help if you do try medical management again? That's what worked for me when I had my first MMC. Miso alone didn't do much. I fought to have them -it's the old protocol they used to use which seemingly has higher success rates than miso alone. Only changed because NICE decided it was cheaper to use just the one drug (using very limited evidence to justify). I wish there's something we could do to help. Xx

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 19:48

@Laney79 thanks for asking hun. Tbh crap I was really hoping my crappy body would do the decent thing for once and handle this one it's self but no sign of that happening at the mo. I really can not go through medical management again but I don't want another erpc either. Fingers crossed 🤞 for that bfp this month for you xx
Any how I've another scan on the 20th and talk about what to do if nothing happens before then.
I could do with a better year as I'm sure all you ladies could xx

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 19:30

Sorry you had a tough time going back to work @MakeLemonade. I've done SMEP this cycle too. I really hope we get some good luck on this thread soon!

MakeLemonade · 10/01/2019 19:23

It really feels like this thread is due some good news! Come on 2019, let’s get some BFPs around here.

I went back to work this week after three months off. Grief hit me like a ten tonne truck and I cried for about two hours before managing to walk through the door on my first morning. It felt totally overwhelming. I should have been going off on maternity leave this week, not returning after bereavement leave. Ugh.

Onwards and upwards, I’m CD6 and going to try SMEP this month. I might try temping the following month if no joy.

KnitKitty · 10/01/2019 19:11

Hello to the new people on this thread. I am so, so sorry for your losses. Huge hugs.

@RedRobin7 hi! It's really funny, I was going to message you to see how you were doing; and here you are! I'm so pleased that you'll be getting back in to TTC; I know how hard it was for you to stop. I really hope that the meds will help everything run smoothly with your next pregnancy.

Today marks one year since the official start of my first pregnancy.
I also finished my "old" job today and got a card from my colleagues which is a load of peas looking sad and it says "peas don't leave"... It was a bit weird as I called my first pregnancy Little Pea and so refer to all the ones I lost as the peas...

I have my appointment through for my endocrinology appointment... It's not until March. I don't mind too much as I'll be settling in to my new job and have been thinking how I should wait to TTC again anyway until after my sister's wedding which is at the end of April. I don't want to be going through another miscarriage during a wedding and need some time in my new job before TTC anyway.
I don't have any results about my MRI scans yet. I'm going ring my consultant's secretary tomorrow and see if they are able to send me a letter with the results as I'll be waiting a while for an appointment.

So the waiting game continues for me.
Hope everyone else is as well as can be. xxx

@Boboelephant Have you started IVF yet? Thinking of you. xxx

Laney79 · 10/01/2019 16:21

Oh @rdm10 what a nightmare, I'm really sorry. What did the dr say? 39 isn't very high for hcg is it? Can they give you something to help bring on AF to see if that will help?

@RedRobin7 glad you have worked things out with the hubby. Fingers crossed for you.

@Beaglemum93 definitely tell them how upset that made you-they should have better systems in place. Hugs.

@Lilimum6 how are you doing?

I'm feeling a bit better this past week. Felt so low in the run up and over Xmas, and the bust ups at home didn't help. But my fella is doing better mentally which helps a lot. Positive opk today and dtd Tuesday night, so hoping we have a good shot this month...no chance of more tonight but will try and use my feminine whiles for tomorrow eve/sat so we have covered ovulation at both ends. I'm trying not to get hopes up but it feels like it should be our month. Cycle getting back to normal (today is CD14, so ovulating about right as opposed to previous cycle of 35 days and 53 for first af post second MMC), well timed BD, just gotta hope for good egg and sperm to meet and bed into my uterus. Please please - really need a better 2019! Xxx

Lilimum6 · 10/01/2019 13:06

@rdm10 sorry your having a rubbish time hun. What was 39 your hcg
@Beaglemum93 unbelievable I would be so cross and have to say something to them.
@RedRobin7 welcome back hun hopefully not for long though Smile

Beaglemum93 · 10/01/2019 12:46

Sorry to hear you've had another loss @Lilimum6 :(

I got a letter through from the community midwife about a home visit... I lost my baby in October, how can they still have me on their list?! It's just another reminder that I should be over half way through my pregnancy and instead I'm in the stupid tww again :(

rdm10 · 10/01/2019 11:50

Hello, not been on for a while. So I made it through Christmas ok, still bleeding but only a little bit. Had a scan last week hoping to see it had all gone but there was still a ‘mass’ there. Had a blood test and was told if my hcg was less than 1 they were happy it would just resolve by itself. It was 39! So I’m back for another scan now and it’s still there! Just waiting to see the dr to see what happens next. These things are never simple are they!

Sorry to see newbies here. Hopefully your stay is a short one.
@RedRobin7 nice to ‘see’ you. Fingers crossed for you. When will you be testing?

RedRobin7 · 10/01/2019 11:13

Hi ladies!

I am back after a short break. So many new names on this thread so for those who don't know me:

I'm 30 and TTC #1. I had a MMC in March 18 at my 12 week scan. We had already seen the baby and heard the heartbeat at an earlier scan so it was a shock. I decided to have the surgical management because by 13 weeks my body still thought I was pregnant and I couldn't bear it. We tried again in June and we were successful straight away at getting pregnant but had a natural miscarriage around 7 weeks. My work added to my health insurance so that I could be tested - only observations were a heart shaped uterus and high androgen levels. I'm now on metformin twice a day and will have a hysteroscopy at the end of February to check how severe the dip is in my uterus.

We were told end of September we could start trying again as the metformin was more likely to help than the hysteroscopy. However, my husband, who is anxious and depressed, decided he didn't want to try for a baby again - ever. That's why I left MN! After several months of talking and crying (a lot!), he has decided we will try at the end of this month. I worry my husband has only changed his mind because he's scared I'll leave him but it's a risk worth taking as he's going to be an amazing dad some day. I believe in him, even if he doesn't! If I don't get pregnant next cycle then I'll have the hysteroscopy and then we will try again after. I'm not sure how long it takes to recover if they cut away tissue.

We had sex between Xmas and NY (3 and 4 days before ovulation) but my husband decided to withdraw because it was before deciding to try... so although in my head there's not really much chance I'm pregnant, my boobs are sore and I had some cramping around 7 and 8dpo so I'm driving myself insane having to wait! I haven't had sore boobs since my first pregnancy a year ago. I used to have them every month a week before my period but the first miscarriage messed that up.

Sorry for the long post. I will catch up today and see how you are all doing. @Lilimum6 I'm so sorry to read you've had another loss. @KnitKitty Good luck in your new job... you've been waiting a long time to start that!!

janey15 · 08/01/2019 19:57

Thank you @strawberrye and @Yukka
I’m feeling very low today and keen to get back to ‘normal’ but not sure I’ll be ready to ttc straight away, although DH is keen as he’s convinced it’ll work next time Hmm

Yukka · 08/01/2019 18:24

@janey15 so sorry to hear about your loss, there are a few others here who have also lost after a long period of ttc. You’re not alone, we all know how you are feeling ❤️

Welcome @Janey15 and I am so sorry to hear about your loss, especially after infertility - that must be incredibly difficult. This group is a wonderful bunch of supportive ladies, I hope we can help you feel less isolated and alone Flowers

janey15 · 08/01/2019 09:58

Hello ladies, can I join you please?
I thought infertility was a lonely journey but I seem to have entered a new level of no one to talk to!
I’m 33, DH is 36
TTC our first child nearly 4 years
First bfp ever just before Xmas
MC this week at 6 weeks although looks like it stopped developing pretty early on.

Just feeling very lost and not sure where to turn next.
Janey
