@Ithinkthatsenough sorry also it can be acquired later in life - they don't know enough about it yet, you might not have had it when you had your first two pregnancies - in fact you probably didn't as live birth without treatment is considered pretty uncommon, less than 20%.

It is treatable, and the chances increase significantly with treatment, its now like 90% success rate. Its actually the most common cause of late and recurrent miscarriage that is treatable so if you're going to get a diagnosis, its a better one to have in my opinion.

The treatment keeps the blood thin, and prevents clotting, The tiny clots block the veins that feed oxygen and nutrients to the placenta. If the placenta fails, then naturally, so does baby shortly afterwards.

Stay positive - you will have a care pathway - my care team have been amazing from the beginning.

So pleased for you @Yukka xxx

Yukka · 14/01/2019 20:38

@ithinkthatsenough I have a related condition call Antiphosphlipid Syndrome and yours is an extension of it. I’m currently pregnant and have been on treatment since the beginning. I had 3 recurrent miscarriages prior to diagnosis. Treatment is daily heparin injections and aspirin.

Update- had my 12 week scan today and it’s all good. Baby was a wriggler, but good size etc and everything as it should be. Confirmed due date 28th July.

I’m seeing the specialist consultant on Wednesday, so will find out more there about what happens next and likely risks.

Has anyone been diagnosed with Factor V Lieden?
Just been told i have this after two late miscarriages.
I’d like to know what treatment the dr’s have suggested and whether it has gone ok? x ive had two healthy pregnancies before these two recent losses so im a bit confused x

wanderlustgirl · 14/01/2019 16:19

It's been ages since I've been on as still no AF so it makes trying hard.

I feel like I've hit rock bottom, managed to get to late 20s without having anyone close to me have baby yet in the 45 days since I've lost mine a close friend and close family member have told me they are in the early stages. Obviously I am happy for them but it hurts a lot.

Not sure if going to the doctor will help right now but struggling to stay positive x x

Sorry I've been rubbish lately. Have been trying to keep up with everyone's posts and keep myself updated.

I'm sorry to see new ladies here, but it's a wonderful group and so much support.

Sorry to those who are having a rough time, sending you love.

Please keep us updated @Yukka have it all crossed for you ❤️

I'm currently 10+4. Absolutely convinced I'm not going to make it to 12 weeks (scan on the 24th) or that they're going to say 'sorry no heartbeat'

Xx

Mistymeow · 14/01/2019 10:32

Beautiful blankets! I am half tempted to start one of my own but I think I might be rubbish :D

@lilimum6 that's lovely, glad it brought some comfort. I'm not religious but I really appreciate you thinking of us all at the service, and all the little ones that didn't make it. I hope you're ok today.
@boboelephant will definitely join you soon! I may get a part time short term contract to keep me going. I suppose I will know more when I have my first appointment at the end of the month.
@RedRobin7 gorgeous dog! That's very hard with your friend's baby shower. Could you maybe go for an hour and explain to your friend first? I have to say I think for women who have been through the trauma of a loss, a baby shower feels very isolating and brings all the grief back.
@yukka completely understandable to have the anxiety dream before the scan. I would feel the same. You want to protect yourself from more hurt. It does sound like everything is going according to plan, will be thinking of you during your scan.

We are waiting for DH's sperm analysis. Last time it was 2 million which is very low. We have a bet, I've said 5 million and he reckons 10 million. The winner gets a freddo :p

Laney79 · 14/01/2019 10:19

Everything crossed for you @Yukka xxxx

Yukka · 14/01/2019 09:24

Morning Ladies. Lovely to hear about your service @lilimum6, I hope it does bring you some peace and comfort, and help you prepare for the tests and trying again.

Sorry to see a few newbies here since I was last on.

So yesterday I reached 12 weeks. I have my official scan this afternoon after several at the EPU during the last 6 weeks. Last one was at 10.4 and he thought I was measuring 11w and everything was fine.

Its very strange, having never been this pregnant before I feel a bit in no man's land. Nothing to compare it to now to know if its going well. All anyone can do is tell me its going to be fine, try not to be anxious, but you can't wholly believe it. I had a dream last night that I started to miscarry just before the scan.

It will probably never get much easier. I really want to move on emotionally and I'm hoping if everything is good at the scan this afternoon then I can start to do that. Its like trying to stop yourself from falling in love. And my poor DH and family, going through the emotions too, everyone's waiting for news this evening.

Thanks ladies today was really tough but lovely too. When we had a chat with the priest he asked about are journey and we told him of all the losses we have had. He said a special prayer for a brighter future and included all of our babies in the service. So needless to say I cried the whole service but I can finally let go I think, it's like something lifted xx

lilmousey · 13/01/2019 22:44

Wow those blankets are amazing ladies!

@RedRobin7 writing a letter is such a good idea! Think I'll definitely do that - thank you! I might even start writing a journal for myself, so I'm not holding on to everything inside.

Is it hard when you have to give the dog back? That's really great work on the running - well done! I've been thinking about getting back into yoga, but so far all I've done is google classes. Now just have to get to the next stage of actually booking one!

@Lilimum6 thinking of you! Hope it went well today 💐

@Laney79 hope the next two weeks go quickly for you! Have everything crossed!

Laney79 · 13/01/2019 21:57

Those blankets are gorgeous-you are all so talented! Wish I could create something so lovely.

@Lilimum6 hope the service went ok today. Sorry to hear the spotting hasn't developed, I hope your body gives you a break soon.

@janey15 definitely take as much time as you need and don't rush back to work-I had 7 weeks off with my first loss and another month with my second. I needed time. Welcome @lilmousey too xxx

@RedRobin7 what a beautiful woofer! Not sure I could let them go after several months-must be tough xxx

@Russkispy sorry about AF lovely.

Sorry not to respond to everyone individually. Hugs to you all.

As for me I'm 2dpo...managed one well timed dtd session on Tuesday and ovulated thurs/fri so hoping oh little guys were strong and healthy and got right on in there with my egg. This next 10/12 days are going to go VERY slowly. X

Newbie21 · 13/01/2019 21:28

Hi ladies, can I ask a question - does anyone know if you have had a natural MC, are you more likely to experience implantation bleeding?

I know I am likely clutching at straws here - I had my second MC in Nov and lost it naturally. I had a period in Dec and then this is my first cycle TTC since. I ovulated later than norm so I wasn't expecting AF to show up until 17/18 Jan but I've just had the lightest brown/pink Discharge. It will likely be premenstrual spotting. I had that after my previous MC (where I had a D&C) but then it was more brown and stringy (sorry TMI) this time it is more v faint pink

Russkispy · 13/01/2019 21:20

@strawberrye thank you! But I'm not a professional knitter! Learned it all from YouTube a couple of years ago. And find cable knitting very easy Smile

strawberrye · 13/01/2019 20:02

Just starting the yellow layer of my rainbow blanket.

Love both of your blankets @lilimum6 and @russkispy. I have never tried to cable, I've heard it's really tricky, you must be a very talented knitter!

Thanks for all the welcomes ladies. I’m sorry there’s so many of us here. One week on and I’m feeling strangely positive? I know it probably won’t last so I’m trying to enjoy it while I can!
Luckily my DH has been really supportive through this but I think it’s because we have been through so much over 4 years of infertility that he’s learned how to deal with the sadness. He hasn’t always found it easy and we have had some very tough times so I’m very grateful that he’s doing such a great job looking after me.
I’m going to ring the dr tomorrow and hoping for another week off. My job is full on and stressful with nowhere to hide if I need to cry.
Xx

Russkispy · 13/01/2019 17:37

AF arrived today, 2 days earlier making this cycle 26 days. Decided not to start another IVF this time around. My dad is coming to visit me on Sunday for 2 weeks. Can't be dealing with him being here and injections, flying out etc etc I'll start next cycle instead. And this time we will just DTD every other day after AF gone and see what happens. I won't OPK, cheaply or digitally as run out of both and won't buying any either. Will continue with supplements, reflexology and acupuncture.
This is now 6 cycles passed after MMC.
Hopefully soon enough we will get it BFPs! Whichever way!
@Lilimum6 hope it went well today. Thanks

Lilimum6 · 13/01/2019 11:19

Well the spotting has not progressed into anything more 😢
We are going to the memorial service for our baby today at 2.30pm. I'll say a little prayer for all of your little ones too xx
