Cookie - thats a great line!

Orchid - mine is 1000

Evug - great idea, will be interested to hear!

Kahfen - I temped for a while, it took a month or 2 to figure out what to look for & expect. Unfortunately I found it too stressful after a while as I would wake up at silly hours wondering if it was time to temp yet, and if it wasn't then I'd screwed it up as I was awake with an hour or 2 left until temp time but you need 4 hour solid sleep to make it acurate! Then I'd temp anyway, think it lookef wrong so fo it again 5 minutes later, get a completely different result and then not know which one to use, so chose my favourite. Then I found myself manipulating the results which became pointless. So I invested in an ava bracelet, which you wear overnight and in the morning - ping - there is the daily temp. Plus rpr, hr, sleep pattern etc, so its great, and seeing the REAL temps, I can now read where my cycle is with ovulation etc. So temping is great, but it needs to be done right to be accurate, and thats blooming hard.

Hello ladies,

Am new here and new to mumsnet too. Just feel that this might be easier with friends who are going through it too ... hard to talk to anyone about it except my man. I am 44 (gulp!) and finally met someone really special last year. He is 30 (another gulp!). I have another child (boy aged 15) which was a (very lovely) accident but with someone I had only just been dating and we didn't last, although I did try for a bit, I knew I didn't love him.

The man I do love and I have been ttc for 6 months. This is one of the hardest things to cope with mentally ... the hope and the anguish! Drama! I am laughing at myself now. Anyway am trying with all I've got and hoping for baby dust for us all :)

I have just spent too long on the internet trying to sort out what days I should be doing the dancing on! Lol! Basics still may not be right! I am shocked at how little I know about it really. Have just started taking temperature and trying to make sense of my cycle but not getting very far and just getting confused and emotional. The temperature thing is confusing the heck out of me. Is anyone else charting and has found it useful? If so how long were you charting for before it made any sense? Maybe it is because it is numbers and I have never been good at those!

I am hoping you are all having a warm and happy day. Big showers of baby dust to you all.

Congratulations cookie
One small request ladies..... whoever gets a bfp.... please share what did you do differently in the bfp cycle

BooseysMom · 27/11/2018 12:15

@CookieWaffle...ah that's a corker!! 😁 Thanks for posting and very best wishes to you xx

BooseysMom · 27/11/2018 12:11

@Kintan...hello and a warm welcome. Sorry to hear about your mc. I'm also ttc no.2. Had DS at 41. Def don't be put off by what they say about age. I had 2 mcs before DS who was 3rd time lucky. I followed my mum's pattern as she also had 2 before conceiving.
Good luck xx

CookieWaffle · 27/11/2018 12:02

Thanks ladies :) xxx

@BooseysMom here's my evening 10-11dpo one :)

Congratulations cookie! Great news, enjoy your pregnancy Smile

Mimosa - I'm not really stressed at all, well only about not getting pregnant! Day to day life apart from that is fairly chilled. I think unfirtunately its probably just age/perimenopause related. I'll try the progesterone cream this cycle, and I've started on the DHEA which is supposed to help too.

Kintan · 27/11/2018 10:46

@Helbelle75 oh no sorry you had to go through finding out at the 12 week scan, that must have been awful :( My doctor told me the same, that the miscarriage 'didn't mean anything' in terms of it being age related or a deeper problem, and I am desperate to believe that too!
I'm still night feeding my 21 month old by the way. It's been a godsend lately as his molars are coming though, and it has been the only thing to calm him down, so I'm not in too much of a rush to night-wean x

Ok phone...so why have you put an angry face before Littlemimosa??!! Confused sorry @Littlemimosa! Hopefully that won't happen again!

BooseysMom · 27/11/2018 10:41

Blimey! Congrats @Cookiewaffle! Flowers..have you got the test to show us?? xx

Hello @barnburntdown ..welcome to our not so little throng! Sorry don't know anything about your issue but wishing you luck with your journey xx

@Angrylittlemimosa .. interesting about progesterone and stress. Never heard of 'pregnenolone steal’ but def trying to relax more these days as old age creeps up on me! Currently waiting to see if AF appears. Have no signs atm but then she has a way of creeping up on me too!

Helbelle75 · 27/11/2018 10:39

@kintan I asked after my last miscarriage (blighted ovum - found out at 12 week scan) if it was my age, and they said it was just one of those things and not to get caught up on age. I'm 43.
I'm desperate to believe them!

Helbelle75 · 27/11/2018 10:36

Congratulations Cookie, that's brilliant news.
I haven't been putting much effort in to ttc as it happened so easily last time and I'm afraid I got a bit complacent. But I am older and I am overweight.
AF due on Thursday, but only managed to dtd once this month so not hopeful. Then I'm going to concentrate on losing the extra 12lbs. Lots of exercise and more sleep. Trying to wean my DD off so many night feeds as well. She's 19 months so doesn't need it.
We're both taking appropriate vitamins, but will try the vitamin d spray as well.
It's so hard, isn't it. It wasn't my choice to leave having a family until now - I didn't meet dh until I was 38. And in my head I'm still 25!
Great to have found this group and fingers crossed for everyone.

Kintan · 27/11/2018 10:26

Hi everyone, congrats on the BFP! Could I join in please? I am 40 and TTC number 2, We've been trying since September last year. I did get pregnant in May but sadly miscarried at 9 weeks. Which I suppose was age related, but who knows. I go between optimism and thinking why shouldn't we have another child, to worrying it's too late and I am wasting my time even trying! Nice to find people who understand!
I am taking CoQ10, high dose folic acid, and a multi vitamin. Think I'll order a vitamin D spray after reading the comments above x

Rose68 · 27/11/2018 09:31

Congratulations Cookie! Hopefully this is it for you. xxx

PetraRabbit · 27/11/2018 08:55

Nice to read updates all round.

Congratulations Cookie! Wow!

minime2017 · 27/11/2018 08:29

Congratulations Cookie! Great news.
Wishing you well for the coming months.
Thank you ladies for listening to my grumbles. Just gets hard month on month, then we get news like Cookie's and all seems possible again.
Have had good sleep after some reflexology over the weekend so Im feeling more positive. On the note of supplements my lady told me zinc is essential-if i take nothing else zinc is a must as it has some sort of impact on sex hormones. Also, avoid eggs due to thw oestrogen content-who knew! I was eating them thinking theyd be great due to protein content.

weasledee · 27/11/2018 08:18

Great news cookie!! Congrats!!! Keep us updated!

Orchid222 · 27/11/2018 08:02

Oh brilliant news Cookie, congrats! Fingers crossed for easy 36 weeks x

Hi ladies, sorry I've been gone a while, trying to chill out a bit and focus on house moves and stuff. I hope everyone is doing ok, seems I've missed quite a bit!

So it looks like this time around it's real, I got my BFP at the weekend and it's getting stronger. No CP in sight this time so I think it's finally happening. Having my very first when I'm 41 was never what I planned for my life but so happy it's finally happening!

Presh12345 · 27/11/2018 07:04

New thread 👏🏻👏🏻 I've been on Gonal F for 5 days. Went for scan on Sunday and they were still quite small at 7.5 ish each. Dose of injections upped to 150iu until Thursday when I have another scan. I really want this to work. I keep imagining flying home at Christmas and being able to tell my parents that we finally got there!!

Ubiquinol is the reduced, active form of CoQ10. One thing to note is that a water and fat-soluble form absorbs better. For vitamin D, this is also better absorbed with other nutrients like vitamin K and magnesium.
