Welcome onemorego, sounds like 30 days, are you going to be tracking ovulation etc?
Mine started yesterday too although my cycles are generally slightly shorter that yours, averaging on around 27 days

onemorego2019 · 22/12/2018 23:21

My period started yesterday. I think it was around the 21st last month, so does that make me on a 30 day cycle? Not really bothered counting before and it'll be our first month trying.

Snowie3 · 22/12/2018 21:00

Thank you ladies for your support. It really helps.

Reality - i have been trying naturally in the months before ivf and so could always hope of bfp then. But now because of no transfer during this last lvf there isnt any. Just feels a bit strange.

Orchid - great you had 2 x 3d embryos transferred. That's how i got my bfp with my son. You are right, i did 2 cycles back to back, this second one a bust completely. I don't know if doing back cycles was the reason it didn't go well as it was much better the month before, similar to what it was nearly 2 years ago with my son.

Thank you Boosey, that is really sweet. Sadly it was my mum's partner of 25 years. It was a bit unexpected as he hadn't been ill for long. We just need to help take care of mum who now has to start over at 72 years old. But we will help her, it's a tough time.

These two weeks are taking so long until AF so we can start trying again. Now just need to get DH back in the mood for baby making which isn't always the most spontaneous as you can imagine!!!

Hope you're having a nice weekend ladies.

Cleozeta · 22/12/2018 17:05

Karry - sounds like a great idea. Relax and enjoy your Christmas

As for me, I'm just stressing as normal!! Period seriously heavy at the moment, a lot heavier than normal. When I had my AFC scan last week they had said my lining was very thick and did I usually have heavy periods. I said no! But here I am with a seriously heavy period. Could it be to do with this months short LP or could it be related to the DHEA?

BooseysMom · 22/12/2018 17:05

@Snowie3...Also wanted to say sorry to hear you have suffered family bereavement.

@karryk...nice to see you as you pop by and thanks for checking in! Yes this time of year is so hard with memories of loved ones. My mum passed away 2.5 years ago and i feel it strongly now although it was June that she went.

Talking of the moon etc, don't forget there will be a meteor shower on Jan 3rd.. the Quadrantid meteor shower. The lady in the library told us she saw some a couple of nights ago too. (The Ursid meteor shower) Sorry not sure what relevance this has to fertility! We didn't see any shooting stars but there was a beautiful full moon last evening and the morning star Venus in the east is stunning all thru Dec!

Thank you for your Christmas wishes...the same to you xx Xmas Smile

Ttc number 4 at 40 😍

Realitysucks · 22/12/2018 15:17

Good luck orchid22 and fingers crossed for you !

karryk · 22/12/2018 13:53

Hello ladies 😊 hope you're all well as can be. Just popping in Flowers

I've switched focus this month to just take time where I can find it to pamper myself. I had a really nice day out with a friend the other day, shopping and food. I hadn't done that in ages. Now I'm at my dad's - kidnapping him for Christmas so he's not alone (the house is just so full of memories of mum). Fertile week falls over Crimbo so there's no chance of dtd and I've decided that maybe that's just a sign from the universe to hibernate and step back this month. I'm reconnecting with my spiritual self, full moon tonight so the crystals are going on a recharge Grin.

Wishing everyone a lovely Christmas Xmas Smile xx

Cleozeta · 22/12/2018 13:48

Orchid - bet it feels like a 2 month wait rather than 2 week!! Lucky Christmas is busy enough it tebds to fly by. Good distraction too, so timed well!
Were you advised to do IVF after tests or did you just request it?

Rose68 · 22/12/2018 13:25

Oh I’m so sorry Orchid! I’m getting confused 🙈
Were both embryos transferred? I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
xxx

Orchid222 · 22/12/2018 13:03

Lol Rose I hope mine did! It's too early to test.
Thanks Cleo well I hope so. I'm not testing until the end of the year I'm afraid so still a long time to wait ☹

Hmmm it could sound promising! That is the right time for an implantation bleed.

Snowie and Orchid, I’m so sorry your ivf didn’t work. It’s just shit. Sending you both lots of love. xxx

Cleozeta · 22/12/2018 11:14

Hmmm fingers crossed for you. Keep us updated!

Reality - argh how annoying!

Orchid well hopefully that was enough! Remind me - when is your testing date?

Orchid222 · 22/12/2018 11:06

Hmm fingers crossed!
Cleo I don't know if she's had any effect. I don't have a before and after picture but considering only 2 of my eggs fertilized normally I don't think it helped a great deal.

@cleozeta literally last chance saloon! Now on 2ww over Xmas 🤦‍♀️Worst thing is been o. Antibiotics now got thrush and can’t treat till I know for sure 😭 it’s driving me mad !!!

hmmm123 · 22/12/2018 10:57

Am now wondering if it is af as it disappeared after a tiny bit yesterday morning! Could it be implantation bleed or just wishful thinking😩 going to do some vigorous hoovering now before Xmas guests arrive so that should bring it on if it is Af

Will report back!

Cleozeta · 22/12/2018 10:38

Reality - 2 days of peak, one day of high and then back to low is normal. So I guess you'll just have to see now how many days before AF (or BFP!!)

Realitysucks · 22/12/2018 09:54

@cleozeta I’m not sure really as only on second month of using clear blue advance opk. First month picked up ten days straight of estrogen surge but no LH spike. This month am on day 9 of estrogen surge and had two peak days yesterday and day before. Today went back to high again.

Cleozeta · 22/12/2018 09:38

Mimosa - yes it does add up doesn't it! I hope it helps you. I was on 75mg a day, so maybe too much. Orchid I wonder if your approach of only 50mg may have been better, but I guess if your hormones already well balanced it probably does not affect it. Did you find it improved your egg or follicle count?

I am going to stop completely this month just to see if my LP returns to normal, then once that has been answered I'll play with dosage.
Mimosa I think it could really help you. Fingers crossed! I don't think delivery took long, letvus know how you get on with it.
This month I'll be trying vitex as I think that sounds like it fits better with my specific imbalance.

Reality - so how long is your lp usually? Your IVF cyvle should be able to sort that out I think?
I am so curious to hear what my clinic advise when I go back at the end of Jan....

Orchid222 · 22/12/2018 07:32

Mimosa I had my dhea from biovea but can't remember how long it took, don't think it was long though else I'd remember. The only thing I can say about it is from personal experience. I took 50mg daily for 2 months and prior to egg collection I must've had half a dozen of scans- each day of the scan I had both progesterone and oestrogen tested and they were always at a good level so it seems that, at least in my case, dhea did not affect things.

Thanks @littlemimosa - I'm not good with technology lol 😂

Rose68 · 22/12/2018 00:40

@hmmm123 we were also only giving it until Christmas / end of the year. I would be up for extending it but I’m not sure DH is 😞

littlemimosa · 22/12/2018 00:26

Here’s the link mentioned above. Very inspiring:)

Orchid- that’s a beautifully written article. Maggie OFarrell is a great writer. Although I’m ttc #3 I can relate to so much of it. The pain of secondary infertility is too much to bear sometimes.

littlemimosa · 21/12/2018 23:53

Hi everyone, sorry been awol for a couple of days. Sorry to hmmmm for Af and to Snowie on the cancelled ivf:(

I just popped in to say to Cleo that I’d been thinking about the progesterone thing and it’s link to dhea too! I thought exactly the same thing! It’s supposed to raise oestrogen which if you’re oestrogen dominant could actually lower your progesterone further. If I was you I’d definitely give it up or at the very least experiment with a lower dose? I’ve ordered the 10mg tablets as I plan to start low and build up slowly. Could be worth tinkering around with dosage? By the way how long does it usually take for delivery from Biovea?

Rose - I believe I’m low in oestrogen lately as I’ve been experiencing all the typical symptoms ie hot flashes in first half of cycle, dry skin, eyes and vag (nice-NOT) and late ovulation. I’m also quite skinny with low bmi which is all conducive to low oestrogen. I’m trying to put on a bit of weight (I think I’m getting there slowly) and the acupuncture and herbs are working wonders. Even though I’m 42 I don’t feel I should be getting near menopause yet so I’m treating it more like a hormone imbalance. It’s way more common to be the opposite tho ie oestrogen dominant and lower in progesterone. Hope that makes sense.
