@cleozeta don’t give up or fall to the timelines! My friend at 40 went through three rounds of ivf all failed. They gave up at 43, then at 46 she found out she was 7 weeks pregnant and it was a gin fuelled baby 🤣🤣🤣 I sit here wondering whether I should wait for the ivf as We have only been ttc for 4 months I haven’t given it time. On the other hand my AMH is so low then I think we should just get on with it!

CritterTamer · 24/12/2018 16:15

@Cleozeta - my hair went grey at 23 (no apparent reason for it other than stress levels) - hair dye is a wonderful thing!

@Letsdothis43 - thank you - just back from first NHS scan and proper midwife appointment, which was actually wonderful and a far better experience than I've had with the NHS so far - I actually feel looked after now 😊 got some lovely scan pics and been officially moved up to 14 weeks 1 day because of how the babies are measuring - EDD is now June 23rd although the midwives say its actually likely to be up to 4 weeks before that with twins. Anyway the photos are a lovely early Xmas present!

Good luck to all in the TWW and testing over Xmas., and to those starting treatment cycles soon - I will be keeping my fingers crossed for all of you xxx

Rose68 · 24/12/2018 14:34

@Cleo you are a spring chicken, I am already 43 AND A HALF. Our deadline is upon us... but it feels like most of the time was used up being preggers & the mc. I still feel it’s possible, one more shot for us.... if I can get DH on board. xxx

Cleozeta · 24/12/2018 09:47

Sorry af got you hmmm. But pleased you have decided to continue trying.

I am feeling the panic today. This year has gone so damn quick and my 42nd birthday is fast approaching. This was my original deadline but I have moved the goalpost to 42 & 3 months (up until I would be 43 on due date) I worry it just becomes unrealistic after that. My wrinkles are spreading and yesterday when looking in the mirror (I don't do it much) I noticed a thick grey streak in my hair. Is TTC a joke now? Would I look too old to be pregnant? Sad
I hate my aging saggy wrinkled body, why is time going so fast?

hmmm123 · 24/12/2018 09:38

Af has arrived sadly. I spoke to dh about my disappointment that my deadline has gone. He said it was a self imposed deadline and we should keep trying for a few more months maybe until my 42nd birthday and that has cheered me up a bit

At least can drink on Xmas day! Happy Christmas all

Letsdothis43 · 24/12/2018 03:25

Hi All, checking in, @Orchid have been thinking of you, I know what you mean about hearing about pregnancies, its getting harder when I never thought it would, still over the moon for friends but now tinged with some weird feelings for me!

Off to get the Vit D 1000 spray tomorrow, @Critter your scans looked beautiful!

@Boosey, hope you're well

@littlemimosa you too!
hope everyone has as happy a christmas as they can, I have completely been relaxing for a few weeks before starting IVF in mid January, I just hope AF plays ball!

littlemimosa · 23/12/2018 22:41

Lovin your attitude mini ! Recreational dtd ha ha.

minime2017 · 23/12/2018 21:15

Orchid I'm with you. In the time since my mc 5 close close family members have announced pregnancies. At first it was unbearable but I now have two of the most adorable nieces and an extremely cute nephew. I get to visit and snuggle them on a regular basis. Although no substitute for having 1 of my own, my heart bursts with love for these little people.
Currently on cd 9 and getting blank circles on cb opks. On the previous 2 cycles my opks showed lashing smileys at cd9. No idea what my messed up 40+ body is doing and frankly this month I don't care. Eat, drink and be merry because I'll be back to ttc in January. Im planning on some recreational dtd over the festive period! Wink

littlemimosa · 23/12/2018 19:38

Oh Orchid I totally get how you feel about other people’s pregnancies. They cut me like a knife through my heart when it’s the same number baby you’re trying for. Keep going though, there’s plenty of hope for you to have your second child.

Russ and Cleo - thanks for replying re the dhea. I’m torn about starting it or not.... anyone else any thoughts?

Hmmm - fingers crossed it was implantation bleeding!

Cleozeta · 23/12/2018 19:34

Orchid - sorry I meant 25mg 3x a day, so 75mg in total per day.

Fingers crossed for you this cycle. If things go to plan you may be growing alongside the new announcement person. Try to look on the positive side while you can. Hard I know!

Hmmm fingers crossed for you!

Orchid222 · 23/12/2018 14:46

Thanks Russ I'm trying really hard but with each announcement finding it more difficult. I was going to be good and not test until the 31st but in the light of this most recent development I decided to start sometime between Christmas and the New Year.

@Orchid222 I'm sure it's hard to hear fiends' pregnant news but please stay positive! Try!
I'm back on 75mg a day, 3 tablets of 25mg, my doc's recommendation. Never had any side effects and LP is still standard 12-14 days

Orchid222 · 23/12/2018 12:43

Yes I did wonder if it was 75 in total for the day.

I just found out another person in my close circle is pregnant with her 2nd- I just burst into tears :( The worst thing is I'll have to congratulate her and smile and see her growing bump over the coming months and it will break my heart if this cycle doesn't work and I'm not pregnant...

Rose68 · 23/12/2018 12:03

Orchid, I think Cleo means 75mg in total, 25mg taken 3 times a day... but I might be wrong.
Hmmm, have you tested? A bfp might show by now.

Orchid222 · 23/12/2018 10:50

Hmm fingers crossed for you too!

Orchid222 · 23/12/2018 10:49

Cleo- they take 225mg of dhea a day?!

Russ- nothing to report here. Way too early to test do just waiting though it's the longest 2ww since we started trying. You were on a short protocol so maybe back to back cycles are ok. I wouldn't want to put my body through a long one straight away plus we're going on a very long holiday so Jan is definitely out anyway. It will pain me to wait but at least I'll be rested, relaxed (and very jet lagged!) and ready to go in Feb which certainly won't hurt. But hopefully I won't have to, it's not over for me this cycle so fingers crossed...

Update from me.. nothing more since 1 wipe of light pink stuff on cd21. Sorry tmi!Now cd24

Due on somewhere between Xmas eve and Boxing Day .. who knows what is going on

Good luck everyone trying! Those who aren't or waiting have a great Xmas!

Cleozeta · 23/12/2018 09:47

Thanks, mimosa I had figured it was probably the dhea too, with the oestrogen thing.

I've read to take dhea all through the cycle. The facebook page that I go on for my Ava bracelet is mostly American and over there they take dhea as standard for fertility. I asked out on there about dhea and its safety once and didn't get many responses as they were like 'duh, everyone takes it' and I got a screenshot of a standard fertility recomendation with dhea at top of the list. They take 75mg 3 times a day throughout the cycle. Although I think progesterone supplimentation is easy to come by too

Russkispy · 23/12/2018 09:41

@Orchid222 , I'm more likely to go for another round in January cycle. My doc said it was fine. Start with the same dosage and see how things develop from there. I'm just hoping to have at least 1 frozen embryo. Any more would be a bonus. But in general just hope next round will have more surviving fertilised eggs. And how are you feeling?

Russkispy · 23/12/2018 09:35

@littlemimosa , my doc told me to stop taking DHEA during 2ww. And restart if it's BFN. Hope it helps

littlemimosa · 23/12/2018 09:27

Snowie - so sorry for your loss. Hugs and condolences x

littlemimosa · 23/12/2018 09:26

Cleo - it could be the dhea. If it raises oestrogen then I’m guessing it could thicken the lining?

My dhea arrived yesterday:) Anyone know if I start right away (I’m in the 2ww) or do I wait til AF?

Rose68 · 23/12/2018 08:46

@Cleo sorry I have no idea what could have made your AF so heavy. Maybe it’s a question for the clinic when you see them in Jan? x

Cleozeta · 23/12/2018 08:12

Also at 40+ anything could happen. I do opk's and temp (via ava bracelet) and the last 4 or 5 cycles (minus the chemical) have all been consistantly 27 days - however ovulation day has varied, it can be deceiving.

onemorego2019 · 23/12/2018 07:57

Thank you @Cleozeta yes I think so, feel a bit like time is of the essence! I've always not really bothered before but I know it can be harder 40+ so I should give myself the best chance.
