Petra, I understand how you feel. I am blessed to have 2, but I've always had in my head that I would have 3. I am from a family of 3 children and it just feels right to me, and the thought that I'm too old to make that happen now is sad. And the acceptance that this is something we can't change or go back on. It feels final.
My eldest aaked me the other day when are we going to have a baby (a lot of his friends have new baby siblings now) then he followed that up with "please can we have a baby" then my youngest joined in, jumping up and down saying please please please! Then they started choosing names. It made me sad. I don't have the heart to tell them I may be too old now, as I would love nothing more than to give them a baby sibling

Happy Christmas to everyone! It was a little bit hard for me....just emotional. I'm from a big family and the idea of having just one child at Christmas in the future (if he even spends it with us every year once he's grown up) seems so sad and incomplete. I know lots of people choose an only child and my perceptions are being shaped by my own upbringing, but it feels terrible to me. I do know I'm incredibly blessed to even have such a lovely and perfect LB. I exhaust myself loving and caring for him and just being with him as much as physically possible, but then that guilty feeling of letting him down by not giving him a "proper" family makes my heart sink and feel like I'll never make it up to him however much I try. I'm 6 months past the deadline I set of 43. I'm in a FB group for my DC's birth month and almost everyone is pregnant. Some of them were on the pill, or initially annoyed at the timing of an accidental second pregnancy. Real life friends are also pregnant. It just hurts sometimes. I know at least here you understand. I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas regardless of the sadness we must all feel about our fertility state. Surely we deserve some good news soon.

Thanks Russ and Booseys. I was in boots on Monday and picked up a frer, stared at it and put it away resisting the temptation to buy it- I was v proud of myself lol.
Booseys that liqueur sounds yummy!

Chatbash72..exactly Chat! Better than pain killers. My mum swore by a drop of brandy in her coffee when she had cramps. I have M&S choc liqueur and that's lush in coffee!

Chatbash72 · 26/12/2018 10:32

@BooseysMom ooh noooo lots of booze needed.. xxx

BooseysMom · 26/12/2018 07:56

@littlemimosa..thanks. yes i can at least have a nice indulgent Xmas Xmas Shock.
Got AF cramps but at least it's not debilitating like last time.

@Orchid222... hoping it's positive this time. Sending sparkly Christmas baby dust your way Xmas Smile

Russkispy · 25/12/2018 15:49

@littlemimosa , never had any side effect from it.
@Rose68 , absolutely! And I'm convinced we all will get there!
@Orchid222 early days and please try to stay positive! Crossing absolutely everything for you!!

Orchid222 · 25/12/2018 12:19

Mimosa-bad timing of good timing with Booseys AF, it sucks but at least she can eat, drink and be merry...I had to forgo a lot of my favourites today Ana last night for that matter because I'm still in the land of the unknown...great to have hope but I'll be really annoyed to get bfn after not eating my Christmas favourites.
Rose- let's hope so! 🤞

Merry Christmas lovely ladies! Who knows... maybe this time next year we will all have an extra little bundle xxx

littlemimosa · 25/12/2018 11:33

Russ - ah I see now:) good luck with the clomid. Have you had any side effects?

littlemimosa · 25/12/2018 11:32

Happy Christmas Booseys. So sorry af arrived. What bad timing too. There’s still hope for you hun. Don’t give up, keep going x

BooseysMom · 25/12/2018 11:09

@Letsdothis43... thanks for your msg. I'm ok. Just getting over a vile cold which DH has now. Then i get a lovely Xmas present this morning...AF starts. .fab timing Xmas Sad
So I'm with you @Hmmm123! I feel your pain.

@Orchid222...thank you. That's a lovely Christmas msg. Smile.. i'm with you on other pregnancies and babies. Just so hard to keep going. My DH's bro has just had their 1st after 2nd ivf attempt..Very much deserved after ttc naturally for 10 years and they're only 35 now! But I don't know why ttc no.2 is so difficult. I always assumed age but how does that explain the healthy young couple not being able to conceive for 10 years?! Xmas Confused

Happy Christmas all and good luck to those waiting to test Xmas Grin

Russkispy · 24/12/2018 23:42

@littlemimosa I'm born Russian but live in Kent 😉
My doc always gave me Clomid for all my IUis even though I ovulate on my own but Clomid also matured the follicles. I trust her and she knows my body inside out by now. Clomid won't harm this cycle and we will DTD in the next couple of days. See what happens.

AliBingo · 24/12/2018 22:34

It's been lovely to finally delurk!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Looking forward to chatting to you all more soon x

Letsdothis43 · 24/12/2018 22:19

Have a happy Christmas everyone, grey hairs! I went grey at 25 and hair dye is great here too!

Welcome Ali, my AMH was like 2.2 I think I am heading out for IVF treatment in January, can't give up hope!

Thinking of you all and I'm in for a catch up if it's ever arranged! Gin

CritterTamer · 24/12/2018 22:15

@Alibingo - when I had my AMH tested and was asking the consultant what the result meant she was reassuring me that it was good and said that she was currently treating one lady whose AMH was 0.1. Yes, a very low result will decrease the success chance per cycle but there are many clinics which are willing to try with much lower results than yours.

Merry Christmas all!

Cleozeta · 24/12/2018 22:09

Thank you for all your reassurances after my wobble earlier. I don't know where I'd be without you lot.
Mimosa I agree a meet up in real life really would be amazing!
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and may all your dreams come true in 2019 & may we all be holding our precious new bundles by Christmas next year xxx

Orchid222 · 24/12/2018 21:47

Cleo- What grey hair and wrinkles? Nothing hair dye and good cream can't fix, keep going!
Ali- welcome. I know the first clinic I looked at wanted AMH of at least 5 but I don't think the clinic I went with at the end had any AMH requirements so perhaps it depends on the clinic but I'm not 100% sure.
Chat my grandmother had her 7th and last child at either 44 or 45 (but if it was 44 she was close to 45 since my uncle was born in Oct) and that was 64 years ago! Sadly it doesn't look like I inherited her fertility gene ...
Mimosa- what a meeting that would be if we did meet in real life! It's funny I feel like I know so many of you and we've never even met.

Happy Christmas wonderful ladies, this ttc would definitely be a lot worse without you all. Enjoy and here's to hoping 2019 gives us ALL that one thing we all desire so dearly xxx

@realitysucks it's whichever one comes out lowest :( seems v low to me but gp did the test cos it was cheaper but they obviously aren't very au fait with it.

I must be ovulating as I've had 5 miscarriages in the last two and a half years. Just got crappy eggs.

Realitysucks · 24/12/2018 21:28

Hi @alibingo I’ve been looking for the same question! Do you know if your AMH is in pmol or ng? My bloods came back as 4 in pmol most people were saying it’s not too bad for my age at 40 but when you convert it to ng it comes out as 0.004 :( unless I’m doing it wrong ! We start ivf in jan and my clinic have said it’s fine for ivf

littlemimosa · 24/12/2018 21:07

Aww Chat and Russ- lovely messages ❤️ Some days I wish we could just all meet up for wine and chat in real life:) Are you really in Russia Russ? Sorry if I’ve missed something reaaaaaally obvious here.... Oh and can I ask... why you started Clomid?

Chatbash72 · 24/12/2018 21:02

Hello all,
@Snowie3 so sorry for your loss..
welcome new ladies, and big hugs to all whose afs have arrived.
I think deadlines are tricky as you impose a great level of stress by having one.. loving the recreational dtd... sorry can't remember who was doing it... but let's all enjoy a little Christmas recreational dtd...
my mother mentioned yesterday that an old family friend had her third baby at 44, 26 years ago... so no ivf, supplements, vits or changes in diet... it can happen ladies.. keep the hope and faith..
the news of newly preg ladies feels like a kick in the guts.. and we have plaster a smile on.. its so tough
Happy Christmas ladies you are all awesome and have got me through some crappy emotional times.. and I know this time of year can be crap because it's all about "family" and that word can hit hard...
sending lots of love and baby dust to all you beautiful women.. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Russkispy · 24/12/2018 20:03

@AliBingo welcome to the group of these wonderful ladies!
@littlemimosa my 43rd is also in the spring. So gearing up for a fresh round of IVF in January. Crossing everything here! In the meantime I started taking Clomid from cd5. And booked myself a private fertility scan in Thursday to see how things are developing.
In the meantime, wishing you all a lovely Christmas and hopefully we will have a better new year! From Russia With Love 💗 x

littlemimosa · 24/12/2018 19:40

Welcome Ali, I can’t help you on that question but someone who can will be along I’m sure. Good to have yon here tho. Pull up a chair and get comfy.

Hmmm so sorry AF arrived but really glad to hear you’re going to keep on trying.

Hi Lets. Hope you’re ok x

Cleo - I feel your pain. Time does go toooooo fast. Those birthdays come around too fast. It’ll be my 43rd in the spring which is depressing but I’m determined not to let the number stop me. Try not to get too hung up on the number and deadlines. It just puts too much pressure on. As long as you’re ovulating you’re in with a chance. Keep drinking those yummy herbs and keep having as much sex as you can.

Just wanted to say Happy Christmas to my lovely fertility buddies. I hope ALL your wishes come true, but one special wish in particular🌈 love and hugs M x

AliBingo · 24/12/2018 18:56

Hello, I've been following this thread for a while now. We are thinking of starting IVF in January. I'm nearly 44. My Amh level has come back at 3.6 which is in the middle of the reduced range. Does anyone know if that's too low for IVF please? Thanks x
