Over 40 ttc - winter baby dust for me!

Taxgirl - so frustrating isn't it!! Although I find now that I worry more about my body doing the right thing than I do about actually getting a bfp...
I'd love to feel relaxed again that it was at least trying.
Do you think you ovulated this cycle? Could your cm and cramping have been ov? Or was it after like mine?

Hi little im ok!
Not ttc now for 2 months and I've been ok with it really. Keep thinking if I change my mind I can still try.... its helpful to not make a "thats it no more trying decision"
I had to go to hospital for a check for ovarian cancer (all fine just super conscious GP) so I asked lady how my insides looked and she said fine!! No signs of menopause type shrinking of the ovaries etc... this was good to hear inside we did decide to have another try.....

@minime I got quite bad lower back pain a couple of weeks before my mc, and I have had lower back pain after ovulation this cycle. I’m not sure what it means x

Congratulations Sparrow. Lovely to hear of bfps on here.
Im now CD 26 (my average as past few months) Ive had such bad lower back pain, poking and pulling pains in my pelvic region and am very tired. I know AF is imminent but am still holding out a bit of hope.
Has anyone else who has had a mc had trouble with cyclical backache. My af symptoms used to be proper stomach and leg aches, now I seem to get back ache.

@critter please try to rest and relax - that's the absolute best thing you can do for you and the bubs.

@sparrow that's great news. Maybe it happened because you stopped thinking about it? Amazing news though.

@rose68, @Cleo and @littlemimosa thanks for your reassurance on fsh. I did it on day 4, as per the doctors instructions. Apparently should be days 1-3? Can't believe a day would make any difference. Will try to get it done again

@cleozeta I could have written almost identical posts to you - this month I had some pink mucus and cramping around day 16 and thought it was AF coming even earlier. Nothing as yet though. Slightly driving me crazy figuring out what is happening to my body

@Letsdothis43.. sounds all good. A caring DH always a bonus. Mine is not a natural nurse but when I was preg he went thru a miraculous transformation the likes of which I never witnessed again!! Good luck for your next stage x

My cycles were a bit all over the place from 21-31 days for about a year after having DS, but in the last few months they have been a bit better at around 26-28 days, with an odd 31 thrown in. I had the Ava for about 4 or 5 months as well and occasionally did an ovulation test and it appeared that I was ovulating every month.

Sparrow - congratulations! I just love a BFP by an over 40! Especially at 43:-) How crazy that it happened when you had so much going on..... Are you cycles still bang-on regular?

Critter I always find Jakemans Honey & Lemon Menthol Sweets are good when I have a cold/sore throat. Hope that you feel better soon.

Yeah I suggested that but partner thinks it’s ‘wasting money that could go towards the baby’ (harrumph).

I have however booked a full NIPT for when further along. It’s beginning of February.

Saw the dr yesterday and she reckons I may be further along than first though as lmp on the 25th was a strange 1.5day long light one and only 20 days after the 5th when I had a ‘proper’ one! She’s wondering if that was heavy implantation bleeding. Personally I think it’s more likely to be the 25.11.18 but only the dating scan will confirm :)

I know what you mean about not getting carried away. I’m refusing to buy anything or get too hopeful before I see that 12 week scan. My dr wouldn’t do an early scan and DH is thinking we shouldn’t waste the money as it won’t change the outcome :/. Everything feels as it should so far though so taking that as a good sign.

Olivia apparently it’s not good for the baby to have liquorice. Shouldn’t be a problem ttc though.

Congrats Sparrow. :). We’re due around the same time then. Hope we both have healthy sticky beans :)

@CritterTamer I thought honey was fine just not for babies under a year old, they do a product called snuggle babes.. which is like child vicks which is lovely and baby albums oil which might be safer from preg mums x
