Hi Ladies hope everyone is feeling positive, some advice please.

I have been looking back on an app I used before I had my MMC to track my AF and it worked out that my cycles on average where around 23 days. Obviously some would be shorter or longer. I used the miscarriage as my last cycle to begin TTC this time which then took 30 days but this could just be due to the MC. The longest cycle I recorded was 27 days and the shortest being 21 days, looks like my cycles where pretty rubbish 🙈

Should I go off my past average of around 23 cycle length or start completely fresh. I have begun using ovulation strips too which will hopefully help if they work for me. If I go of my past 23 cycle I should be DTD all this week? What are your thoughts?

Looks like everyone is BD'ing this week so could be good luck 😄😉

EltzBee · 20/11/2018 11:39

@FlapJackered ah cool, glad your Ov confirmed too.

FF thinks AF due 31st, but that would be a 14 day luteal phase and my normal is 11 or 12, so I think I'm probably due on the 29th. I need to book some blood tests for between days 2 and 5 so going to have to take an educated guess and change them if needed I guess!

FlapJackered · 20/11/2018 11:05

@sunshine1987 welcome home! Hope you had an amazing time. I am not surprised you're feeling blue, it's bloody miserable today so dark and cold. It's making me want to eat my way through the cupboards!
I hope the docs appointment goes ok.

@EltzBee I am not far behind you, FF just confirmed my ovulation too, so relieved to finally be able to stop smeping. Even though looking at my chart it wasn't actually that many times, it felt like loads!!
When is af due for you now?

@GemmaJen I normally get a few dips before my ov dip but mostly when it is getting close - see my chart below.
I would cover bases as the others have said and get bd-ing!

@sunshine1987 ah makes sense, with all our cycles being so different none of us really have a text book 28 day cycle with Ov' bang in the middle do we! :)

Glad you're feeling positive, that's definitely the best way 😊

sunshine1987 · 20/11/2018 09:47

@eltzbee yeah, though my doctor asked for them 7 days before my period which is where I think the problem was. But we’ll see, feeling very positive about it all so it’s all ok 😊

EltzBee · 20/11/2018 09:39

@sunshine1987 hope you had an amazing time. It is super grey and dark here too - worth taking extra vitamin D!

Fingers crossed the doctor can help tomorrow with working out next steps. You never know each month though - especially if cycles are a bit topsy-turvy. Did the Day 21 bloods need to be 7 days after ovulation?

sunshine1987 · 20/11/2018 09:32

Ladies I’m back from Mauritius, blue as can be as it’s raining and miserable. Halfway through 2WW and know it’s not my month so very chilled, though I’ve missed my chance for my day 21 bloods again but have my doctors appointment tomorrow to discuss my next steps to work out why I’m not “ovulating”. Hope everyone’s well xx

sunshine1987 · 20/11/2018 09:31

@gemmajen I get a slow drop for a few days before ovulation rather than a one day dip, so might be the start of fertile period or just about to ovulate. Either way I’d start getting to it if you hadn’t already 😉

EltzBee · 20/11/2018 09:24

Morning ladies.

@SullyWifey definitely need to distract ourselves through this TWW! FertilityFriend finally confirmed my ovulation today - we were right before it was with spotting the day, woo (we've obv got good at looking at charts...!). Still super spikey they month, and whilst my wake-up time has varied, it's always been right after waking. Ah well! Last months was a lot tidier.

Attached to this so people can have a peep. It looks like we DTD in the fertile week and in the run up to it so fingers crossed. Out of my control now I guess! 5DPO today.

@SenoraSurf like the other ladies said, you're only human. Jealousy is natural, and til you start trying to get pregnant you don't realise how all-consuming it is or what an emotional rollercoaster.

Went out for the day yesterday with a family member, who is lovely, and there were some super cute baby outfits that we saw - she (jokingly) asked DH and I when we were going to have a baby and we ended up telling her that we were trying, but that after nearly 6 months it hadn't happened yet. Was easier to come out and say it than not say anything, if that makes sense.

@GemmaJen like the others said, get BD-ing! Fertility Friend app should pick up on it as an ovulation date about 3 days afterwards if you have a temp increase.

Back to work today after a lush 4-day weekend. Typically I've come down with a bit of a cold too, doh!

Sorry for the essay btw!

@SenoraSurf you're only human and most people would be envious in your place, I would of been and I actual am jealous of some friends who are pregnant. Unfortunately when it comes to pregnancy I have learnt that a lot of it is out of our control. Just try your best to keep going. It will happen again for them and you too 😘

@GemmaJen I would definitely get DTD if I was you, good luck and enjoy 😋

MrsEG · 20/11/2018 08:27

@GemmaJen Go for it! How exciting to see you’ve ovulated so soon too :)

BabySquid · 20/11/2018 07:08

@GemmaJen looks like an Ov temp drop to me... just for comparison these are my temps and it's clear when I ovulated... Cd19. I'd get BDing if I were you 😏😉

TTC FIRST BABY - THREAD NO.8
GemmaJen · 20/11/2018 06:45

So I had a significant temp drop today, does that mean anything? I took an OPK (this is gonna get expensive!) and got a flashing smiley - after the no smiley yesterday. Is it fluke or do I get busy? So new to the whole BBT thing I've no idea? Hmm

@SenoraSurf don't beat yourself up. These things happen, I felt really crap after the MMC, 2days later my sister had an urgent scan and found out her baby was ok at 9w. Ours would have been 11w but stopped growing at 8w. Id pretty much held it together till that point. But boy was I a mess, so jealous that she had something we didn't. I am happy for her, but at the time I thought loads of things that I didn't like, the thought of seeing her with her baby just after ours would have been due was heartbreaking. Thankfully her pg is still healthy, and I'm in a slightly better place than I was. It's completely normal to feel conflicted and a tad jealous too, you can't prevent that and just because their outcome wasn't positive doesn't change the validity of those feelings in the moment. Ttc is such an emotional minefield!

Sorry @SenoraSurf 😩 don't beat yourself up over it, you weren't to know. It's a tough time, sending love ❤️ xx

@SophiePie well it's my besties baby shower on Saturday so immersing myself in that, and then we prepping the decks for weekend after! In between that I will try and keep sane one day at a time haha xx

@SenoraSurf so sorry to hear that. Don't be to hard on yourself. You were not to know. It's hard when you really want something so don't worry. It's a risk we alll take xxx

SophiePie · 19/11/2018 22:16

@SenoraSurf That's so sad. I'm so sorry that you're both having to go through a tough time. TTC is something that noone ever thinks will be such a rollercoaster until they start. It's a minefield. But remember that you're human and your emotions on this aren't always going to be so clearcut. Hoping your family member recovers quickly and you both end up with the babies you've been wishing for Flowers

SophiePie · 19/11/2018 22:05

@SullyWifey Anything you can distract yourself with for the next two weeks? It would definitely help! Hoping this is your month

SenoraSurf · 19/11/2018 22:00

That family member that I said I felt envious of after announcing their pregnancy... they're misscarried Sad I feel absolutely guilt ridden that I felt jealous and now they're going through heartache. Now I feel even more guilty at the prospect of getting pregnant before them.
This journey is so emotionally taxing it is unreal Thanks

mrsof20118 · 19/11/2018 21:38

@SullyWifey my other half knew i was this month or so he says. I was very emotional crying at things on tv or films and it's very unlike me. I also had brown spotting from around 7dpo.

MrsEG · 19/11/2018 20:51

@SullyWifey The waiting game is the worst! Longest two weeks ever.

I think everyone is different - my best friend had absolutely no symptoms at all and didn’t throughout her pregnancy whereas my sister had HG and was sick constantly from 7 weeks to 7 months!! Fingers crossed when it’s my turn that doesn’t end up being a family trait...

SullyWifey · 19/11/2018 20:43

@RanchoRelaxo @MrsEG @MrsC87 @SophiePie thank you ladies. Just curious to see how it was! 3DPO and it's dragging!! Wish we could find out straight away and get it over with haha.

Your always welcome here, you need to share that baby dust!!!xxx

Delilah7 · 19/11/2018 20:16

@ValidUser awww thanks for thinking of me. I'm ok. Some rib pain but trying not to think too much. No bleeding this time at the moment touch wood! Had bloods this morning for HCG again so will find out Wednesday. You ok??? X

MrsC87 · 19/11/2018 20:15

@SullyWifey I was due AF on the sat and on the Monday before had this feeling I was pregnant. I got period like cramps which was very early as I only get them on the day of AF. I had very milky CM and my cervix felt different, closed and soft. (I know some have said they don't like the idea of checking their cervix but it was a big indicator for me throughout my whole cycle).
Other than that felt quite normal and feeling okay now, still in disbelief I think.

I haven't really commented too much on this thread as feel a little guilty I'm pregnant and still on this thread. I just like to see how you're all getting on and I am rooting for you all that this cycle will be the one!
If I can help with any other questions let me know but I'm still here if a little quiet wishing you all lots of luck and baby dust 😘😘😘

FivexFive · 19/11/2018 20:11

@purplefig, I'm away from Fri until Mon, due af on Fri! I swing from one extreme to the other... one min I want to test early so I know and the next think about not testing for weeks after af is due, to avoid disappointment/sadness if it goes wrong early on. Xx

cupcakesandglitter · 19/11/2018 20:02

Hey @ValidUser how are you? X

I'm CD23 and I've had more EWCM out of the blue (no orgasm or anything beforehand so it's definitely not arousal fluid) Wouldnt have seen it if I didn't see it on the tissue when I wiped... cried for about ten minutes straight 😂😂😂😂😂

@DayDreamer1707 hard to say, I know some people can get random spotting throughout the cycle. I'd carry on with OPKs anyway but just note it down xx
