TTC FIRST BABY - THREAD NO.8

@MrsEG I wasn't prepared emotionally for that insane level of sadness - and this months hit me harder than normal. It was that feeling of knowing we'd done everything at the right time, given it the best possible chance, and somehow, it didn't work - and then my period started out of the blue 3 days early with no warning, to add insult to injury.

That is exactly it - spent whole life trying not to get pregnant, now my DH and I really want a baby, it's conspiring against us!

My friend yesterday got pregnant really quickly too. Their first child was a honeymoon baby, they tried for a 2nd and got pregnant quickly but miscarried, then tried again and got pregnant 2 months later (so first time they tried after giving body one cycle). They seem to think about getting pregnant, and it happens!

Got bloods to check for PCOS and my thyroid tomorrow morning. Going to my first 'Slimming World' meeting on Wednesday after work - it will be nice to have something else to focus on and hopefully if my body can start behaving and lose some weight, maybe that'll help with fertility.

I never thought I'd be this person, who is all consumed by trying to get pregnant and so heartbroken every time it hasn't worked.

@Eltzbee the disappointment is huge isn't it. I was so unprepared for the emotional rollercoaster. Naively thought I would be preggars from my wedding night. You've got every right to want to get to the bottom of what's happening. A year feels like too long to wait especially if you're feeling so unsettled. When am feeling crap it makes me feel better to think maybe the little bean just wants to be born in a different month 😊

Hi ladies, have been reading your posts and trying to keep up with them all but haven’t posted myself much! Just wanted to share with you where I am 7 or 8 dpo and feeling very anxious about af arriving Friday. Determined not to test early as did that last time and it doesn’t completely kill the hope but is still pretty miserable. Hoping for us all that we have a BFP soon. Xx

Oh @EltzBee it’s so hard and I know how you feel. My sister has a 5 month old who I see a lot of and it hurts, especially as she fell pregnant her second month trying. It’s really really tough. No one warns you just what it is going to be like - you spend your whole adult life trying not to get pregnant easily and just assume when you then try to get knocked up it should be simple! Thinking of you, try not to feel too down. X

Congrats to anyone else I've missed.

Cycle Day 3 for me. Managed to rebook my blood tests after damn period started several days early (only a 9 day LP this time, usually 11 or 12).

Not spending as much time online at the moment, felt myself slipping in to a depression and as pleased as I am for everyone who are getting their positives, I feel so sad being on my period and another cycle not happened.

Had a friend come round yesterday with their 5 month old baby and it was all I could do not to cry.

More and more convinced something isn't right for us, I know everyone says it can take up to a year, just relax and all that bullshit, but my cycles are playing around, different lengths and my hormones just seem to be all over the place.

@autumnfires this is my first time tracking my cycle as I had a MC in October so not sure what my cycle will be like. I got my first positive yesterday on my OPKs and it's still positive today so got to DTD. So I must be pretty close to ovulating, do you know when yo ovulate? x

@flapjackered sorry I was confusing 🙈 i'm only cd12, flo says I'm due to ovulate in 2 days. No peak on opks yet. The whole ttc feels like it takes up far too much of my time. Instead of Instagram and dailymail - obsessed with mumsnet and bfps.

@Crossfitgirl I started reflexology last month - cycle 3 for me, then that was first time I had pink cm before af. No idea if it's all linked...

@Crossfitgirl it's so hard not knowing isn't it!! I suppose we are going to have to be patient! I am not productive at all today!!! It's such a time-waster the tww 😂

@DayDreamer1707 I can't remember if you said you were temping or not? If you have had a positive I would just make sure you Dtd everyday for the next two or three days then you will definitely be covered. I don't think it matters too much how long your surge is. Even if you get a negative now it doesn't mean you will have already ovulated, if you see what I mean.
