Too early to test?

Just that really, when is too early to take a pregnancy test?

I'm 8DPO and have started to get aches and pains in the bottom of my back and boobs. AF is due on Sunday and these aren't normally symptoms. My usual terrible skin hasn't arrived either

I'm driving myself mad waiting! This is exactly 1 year since we started TTC and I'm letting my imagination take over hoping we get a 1 year BFP surprise.

I had the most textbook month, positive OPKs (I never get them), temp rise at the right time, CM change, ovulation pain and DTD before, during and after.

Tell me I'm not the only one hating this two week wait?!

How Are you both getting on? I've been spotting since Thursday which is a first for me, but still no flow. I have had cramps since yesterday, so I'm just having to wait it out... hope to see some BFPs soon xx

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 10/11/2018 18:21

Thanks @miniscotchegg same as you and @LondonKez AF is due tomorrow. Started to get the twinges of cramp so no doubt she'll appear tomorrow. Only positive is I haven't had my terrible week before breakout, every cloud eh!

Keeping everything crossed you'll both be posting your BFP soon. X

Thanks @miniscotchegg, AF also due tomorrow for me but everything is pointing towards an appearance today at some point. Good luck, I hope she stays away! Xx

miniscotchegg · 10/11/2018 15:21

@LondonKez @ItsAFunnyOldWorld
sending lots of positive vibes and support for the end of the the TWW. How are you both doing? It definitely does feel like stories of people falling pregnant immediately are everywhere. It sounds like you're doing everything you can though and it's just one of those really crappy unfair things that life throws up. Hope you can be compassionate to yourselves and not beat yourselves up like it's your fault somehow that it's not happened already Keeping everything crossed it will happen for you both very soon

I'm just waiting on AF to start - due tomorrow and I woke up today with all the early warning signs that it's on the way so just a matter of time now until the merry go round to starts again! X

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 09/11/2018 14:21

@ItsAFunnyOldWorld it's nice to know you aren't alone sometimes, you are right, nobody really talks about still trying month after month. I'm pleased for everyone who gets their BFP after a couple of months but sometimes it just feels so unfair. I know I shouldn't wish my life away but sometimes I wish AF would hurry up and gone so we can have another try and a new month.

Keeping everything crossed for you!

Oh, @ItsAFunnyOldWorld I know exactly how you feel. I'm on cycle 11 trying for my first and I'm 32. I'd love to have more than one, so also aware that time is not necessarily on my side. No one ever really talks about how hard this process is. It appears that everyone gets their positive results so quickly, it's rare to hear the stories from people who have been trying for more than 9 months. I always have a little cry when AF arrives and take the dog out for a long walk. It helps me recharge ready to start all over again.

Stay strong though, you still have time! It will happen for us and we can be those happy ending stories that I obsessively search for in these threads. Sending you lots of positive energy and a virtual hug 💖

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 08/11/2018 22:09

Thank you @miniscotchegg @LondonKez I am starting to wonder if being a mum is in my plan, I honestly can't work out what I'm doing wrong.

I've got my dogs and the hubby (who I have just lost the plot at after he made a very badly timed comment, convincing myself he definitely deserved it!)

Absolute @LondonKez every symptom can be a BFP or AF, short of morning sickness they are frustratingly the same! I'm sure I sometimes invent symptoms in my crazy TTC head! Keeping everything crossed yours are pointing to a BFP!

Sorry to hear about your BFNs @ItsAFunnyOldWorld @miniscotchegg. I haven't tested yet. 10dpo today. Had really strange symptoms but my temps have been low all cycle, so as much as I'd love to be hopeful I also know that I really shouldn't get ahead of myself, especially as I've obviously Googled all my symptoms religiously and they seem to be equally common as BFP and AF symtoms!

I've read a lot of bad reviews on the one step pg tests, but I use the OPKs and they seem pretty reliable.

miniscotchegg · 08/11/2018 20:38

@ItsAFunnyOldWorld really sorry to hear that sounds so hard doing this month after month. There is still time this month, and hope you have some nice weekend plans and things to do to keep distracted and look after yourself whilst the waiting continues

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 08/11/2018 20:24

Tested this morning @LondonKez and got a BFN, thought I'd be gutted but think I've got so used to only seeing one line it's not a shock any more, almost numb sometimes. Maybe month 13 won't be so unlucky for us.

Hoping to hear some good BFP news off you ladies!

@LondonKez doing ok over here tested again this morning with an IC, and BFN again which I was expecting and felt ok about. Testing these past two days has definitely helped me relax a bit, I think it's the uncertainty which is the worst part for me at the moment, but still only on cycle 2 so that might change as things go on. I only have one FRER left and was thinking of using it tomorrow morning before I go ahead and treat myself to an end of the week glass of wine! I'll be around 10-12dpo tomorrow. AF is due Sat/Sun.

I've read some bits on here this evening about how crap the One Step IC are, and so wondering whether to even bother with them next cycle. I don't know about how good the One Step OPKs are either, but will probably give them another whirl.

How are you doing?? Have you managed to stay away from the tests?

LondonKez · 08/11/2018 18:28

How are you all getting on? Did you test @ItsAFunnyOldWorld? Xx

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 07/11/2018 07:55

Sorry to hear that @miniscotchegg but at least you are feeling better for it.

I've decided I'm going to test tomorrow morning, thinking the same as you, it won't be at the front of my mind and hopefully won't be such a blow if I keep waiting for AF to show up at weekend.

Morning all! Welcome everyone who joined the gang yesterday keeping fingers crossed for you all!

Well this morning I caved haha! Tested with FMU and it was a BFN - as expected really, as I'm still only around 10dpo. I actually feel better having tested - has helped take the uncertainty down a notch and also a good reminder that I'm probably massively reading into things that are just part of my normal bodily function. Going to leave it for at least a few days now I think and just wait and see if AF shows.

How are you all getting on? X

lankyliscuits · 06/11/2018 16:59

Hello Smile Cycle 3 TTC #1. Positive OPK Friday night & Saturday morning. Negative OPK by Sunday morning. Managed to DTD Saturday night & twice on Sunday. This is the 2nd month of using OPKs but first month I've seen a positive, so not sure if I didn't ovulate last cycle or just didn't catch the surge so I feel quite excited that I've actually caught it this cycle! Had a few symptoms since Sunday such as twinging pain in right-hand side, bloating, headache, very mild nausea and very mild AF like stomach ache! Weirdly though, yesterday (Monday) I had what I thought was EWCM however on reflection it could be swimmer for Sundays sessions Blush These symptoms are weird though but I'm aware I'm trying to spot them Hmm

TaeLovexD · 06/11/2018 16:14

@ItsAFunnyOldWorld
Nope you're not alone.. I avoid taking pain meds also.. Feeling like the pain is a positive sign.. GrinGrin

I didnt plan to start TTC til January but it appears it could take longer than I thought so I wouldnt mind this being my month...
I'm only 4dpo so I dont feel anything, really not looking forward to driving myself crazy symtom spotting..
Sad

I do think about it sometimes and unfortunately I don’t feel pregnant. My last two I just knew. Well with my first I was a week late lol. And I’m never late. But I didn’t think of it at all because we weren’t actively trying. We out of the blue decided to see what happens if we don’t pull out on a fertile day. Obviously we were okay if a baby resulted from that 😀 but I wasn’t expecting that at all from all my reading about how it takes about 6 months usually to conceive. My second time I know a week before my missed period. Again, we decided to see what happens. No use of ovulation strips etc. I just guess my fertile time using my knowledge acquired from google. And some how I just knew. I was a lot more tired then normal. Annoyingly this cycle. I don’t feel squat. Not even extra tired.

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 06/11/2018 16:06

@OneMoreWish exactly what I'm doing, one minute I'm convinced I am, the next I'm questioning if I can feel period pains.

This is definitely the longest TWW I think I've ever had!

Currently talking myself out of testing when I get home from work, I know it's more than likely too early but I just need to know.

OneMoreWish · 06/11/2018 15:48

Anybody else keep silently contemplating and wondering if you feel pregnant ? I do and the answer is I don't know argh!

LondonKez · 06/11/2018 12:31

After my strange temps, I started spotting last night after we DTD, 4/5 days than I normally start spotting. Driving myself insane. In 11 cycles, I think this has been the hardest tww yet!

@ValidUser at this rate, I might be right behind you testing tomorrow!

ValidUser · 06/11/2018 11:14

I've tested twice. 6dpo. I'm a doctor and I know better.

Convinced myself I see tiny lines.

Feeling ill.

Decided it's my month.

I may have snapped.

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 06/11/2018 09:45

Morning ladies!

Another morning without testing, think we deserve a pat on the back! Or a cuppa and a biscuit.

Keeping everything crossed for positive symptoms @miniscotchegg x

Hubby thinks I'm bonkers for not taking painkillers for my sore back "just in case". If only he knew how bonkers TTC really makes us all!

OP posts:
OneMoreWish · 06/11/2018 09:20

Good morning first fmu flushed phew so that temptation has gone.

Silly really as I'm only 7dpo so it wouldn't have showed anything anyway.

Anyone test?

Hope everyone has good fast days lol xxx

miniscotchegg · 06/11/2018 09:10

Morning ladies! How are you all? The urge to test is strong today but so far managed not to figuring if I can successfully get past the FMU I can hopefully talk myself down for the rest of the day!

I've been having very mild cramps for the last 3 days and hoping that might possibly be a good sign but in reality most likely an IBS flare up or early signs of AF... X

ItsAFunnyOldWorld · 06/11/2018 07:07

Fingers crossed we'll have 5 BFPs this time next week!
