Anyone else starting the two week wait?

We dtd Monday morning and now the two week wait. Not that hopeful as I feel I was one day too late. But it was during the 48 window of the static smile face. Second day though. Anyone else just about to start or at the beginning of the 2 week wait? How are you keeping busy?

Farhana70 welcome. And crossing fingers for you! You are almost able to test again! 🙂 is this your first time or do you have dc? How long have you been trying?

Onemorewish thanks for explaining. Good luck this cycle! How many more days for you?

Kids are back at school this week and I have loads to catch up on! Hoping this week goes by fast!

I have frer in the house from last month eek!!!

OneMoreWish · 04/11/2018 18:59

Iui is Intra uterine insemination. Not a common abbreviation on here but known to those who need it ( like ivf ). Iui can be medicated to help women ovulate or non medicated so women just have donor sperm put inside them after they surge.

I'm non medicated and often single women or lesbians with no known fertility issues will do non medicated iui first.

Hope that helps x

Farhana170 · 04/11/2018 16:21

Hey Everyone! Can I join!? I'm currently 12dpo... tested at 10 coz I couldn't wait n a bfn:( ! I haven't bought anymore tests as I know I'll be tempted to test again. This time round ordered some from amazon due to arrive Wednesday (this would be the day after ad is due) so fingers crossed!

Mamabear12 · 04/11/2018 16:05

Forgot to say, I tested for my first D.C. clear blue one week after my missed period (not sure how the heck I waited an entire week for testing after a missed period?!?!?). I was traveling and wanted to read the result w my dh. For my second dc I used sainsbury and clear blue one day before Aunt Flo was due. Clear blue said negative and sainsbury positive. Next day used first response and got positive.

This time around I have used sainsbury and first response for the two cycles I tried. I already got my first response in the post (Amazon is fast!!!). But now I’ll need to wait a few days to test!

Onemorewish. What is iui? Sorry, I don’t know what all the abbreviations stand for. I’m not sure exactly when I ovulate, but I’m guessing day 14,15 or 16 😀 I got my static smile (the is when opk detects a surge) on Monday morning. But we didn’t do the deed until Tuesday very early morning. So I’m not sure if I might have ovulated Tuesday or Wednesday? I’m a little confused with the whole surge thing.

Lozzy25. My dd is 6 and ds 5. My puppy is 7 months. It’s a big age gap with the third because it was either me not ready or my husband not ready. So finally we are both ready for a third. The first two were/still are high maintenance lol.

Anyone symptom spotting? Nothing really for me. I just feel tired. But spent 2.5 hours hosting my sons 5th bday. Then one hour walking the dog. Then taking the kids to another bday! So exhausted!

I have ordered some frer due to arrive on wednesday when I'll be 12-ish dpo so going to test then. Did an ic this morning and bfn. Really annoyed with myself - promised myself I'd not test before Wednesday and caved! In my defence my boobs are so sore today but it's probably just raging pms.

I usually test with frer but have a batch of ic as well although they have terrible reviews on amazon so not sure how accurate they really are for early testing. I also like morrisons own tests which are pink dye and £3.50 for 2 (got my bfp on these with ds) but my local morrisons hardly ever have them in stock.

Lozzy25 · 04/11/2018 08:27

Mamabear12, I have a regular 29 day cycle and I am using the Flo app that tells me my fertile week 😊 I do get ovulation pains, ewcm and nausea on the days I ovulate so I just made sure we dtd every other day around ovulation! The only thing that’s confusing me is my cm and pelvic pain has carried on after ovulation this month which it’s never done before 🤔 so I’ve carried on dtd just incase I’m ovulating later than I thought.
Mamabear12, how old are your dc? This will be our first baby but we do have 2 dogs! One is still a pup so he keeps me busy 😃

When everyone starts testing what tests do you all use? Do you start with cheap ones or use first response or similar straight away?

OneMoreWish · 04/11/2018 07:48

I do iui as I'm a single parent so I actually count days past iui (dpiui) but when I'm on conception threads I think I confuse people so just use dpo instead.

I guess it depends on if you know when you ovulate? I use opk sticks to get surge and after that it's all a bit vague on when you exactly ovulate but I guess roughly you could count day after as ovulating so start dpo the day after that if it makes sense?

I also get ewcm two days before surge and on the day so I suppose some people count ovulation after that? Well if you know your ewcm haha

It gets really confusing when you try pinpoint anything hahah

Mamabear12 · 04/11/2018 07:31

Lozzy25, welcome! Are you just dtd at random times? Or do you have an idea of fertile period so make sure to dtd during that time (most w 28 day cycle fertile period is day 12-16).

To pass the time I’m just googling away. Haha. But also keeping busy with my two dc and our puppy 🙂

Onemorewish, I just ordered my pregnancy tests lol. But will try to hold off until 10 days post ovulation. I will probably crack 7 days post ovulation.

Today I am 6 days from dtd. (We dtd 5am) so do I count that day in counting? Or do you count from the next day??

OP posts:
OneMoreWish · 03/11/2018 21:21

Eek I'm my logical head it's day 14 or 15 after ovulation that's sensible and doesn't waste pregnancy sticks and is more likely to have a clear line.

But I can't do that.. I just give in.

So knowing who I am, I am going to aim for 12dpo- knowing I might cave and start around 10dpo - but really hoping I don't poas before 10dpo

Haha it's so hard and I've googled everything possible about getting pregnant I'm now just googling 'hope I'm pregnant' lol

Busy days and early nights for me to pass the time. Evenings defo the twitching finger on google hour

Lozzy25 · 03/11/2018 20:26

Hi everyone 😊 if I’m right (I could be wrong) going by the hints my body gives me and my app I’ve been using I’m 2dpo! This is our first month ttc so not using OKP’s or temping yet but I will get some if nothing happens in a couple of months.
What do you all do to try and pass the time during tww? I’ve told myself not to stress or become obsessed but it’s easier said than done 🙄 I’m going to try not to test until day before AF due!

Mamabear12 · 03/11/2018 20:25

So when is everyone testing 😀 I’m not exactly sure regarding ovulation day. Clear blue opk seems to let you know when you are about to ovulate and gives you a 48 hour window of when you might ovulate. We dtd on second day of 48 hour window so hoping we got it right. Since then I’m on day 5. I guess the earliest I can test is in another 5 days!

I am not doing the best at keeping distracted. I’m googling, looking at my calendar and mumsnet lol.

userabcname · 03/11/2018 20:12

Hi all. I'm 9dpo I think (based on using opks this month but not temping so could well be inaccurate). On cycle 4 and ttc number 2. Boobs are very sore which I had in my 2ww with DS but I also had it last month and then af arrived so not counting on that symptom at all! Dying to test tomorrow but really need to start waiting until I miss a period as I'm spending a fortune on tests....

Easterbuns1 · 03/11/2018 20:05

Thanks mamabear.

I'm finding myself checking my apps several times a day counting the days down til I can test 🤦🏼‍♀️ so much for staying chilled out!

OneMoreWish · 03/11/2018 19:59

I'm good 4dpo today I find the first week goes by slightly easier as no chance pregnant yet so no temptation to poas lol

We went to photographer to do Christmas photos which was fun x

Mamabear12 · 03/11/2018 16:21

How is everyone getting on? Any other joiners?

Welcome easterbuns1. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Crossing fingers for us all that it’s a lucky month.

This morning I went to the gym and now I’m enjoying some Halloween candy lol. Bad I know. Normally I don’t eat sweets!

hi everyone, can I come join in? I'm currently 3dpo on first cycle after miscarriage in September. I have 2 older children from my previous relationship. My miscarriage pregnancy was unplanned but we were delighted and then devestated when I lost it at 11 weeks. We said we would try again and see what happens and I really wanted to stay chilled and just enjoy the ttc but I feel like I'm stressing already and it's going to be a super long couple of weeks. Good luck everyone!

Lozzy25 · 02/11/2018 07:16

Hi 😃 I'm also just starting the TWW! we managed to dtd 5 times during my fertile week, this is our first month trying. I'm pretty sure I ovulated either yesterday or Wednesday and we dtd Wednesday, Tuesday and a few times before. Been super busy and tired since Wednesday so haven't managed to get another bd in since then.
I'm trying to convince myself not to start symptom spotting but that's easier said than done 🙄 just focusing on work and my dogs 😃 fingers crossed everyone!

Mamabear12 · 02/11/2018 06:33

And as for me keeping busy, all my free time goes to google and mumsnet! Lol. I have 2 dc, but they are ages 5 and 6 so in school. I have started working out to keep busy. I also have a gorgeous puppy that keeps me busy. Although she is 7 months now so not so much a puppy. She is fully trained now and actually quite easy. But I do take her out for a few walks a day, which is lovely.

Kinkat, I read the same. As long as it’s 10 days. I started spotting like 4 days before my actual period, so that made a short luteal phase for me As I count the spotting as shortening the luteal phase. I did accupuncture every week for one cycle and it worked straight away. It is expensive though. Annoyingly we were able to try that month!

OP posts:
KinCat · 02/11/2018 03:15

Mamabear12 that's interesting about the acupuncture. If I'm still not pregnant at Christmas I'll give it a try. Last cycle I started spotting at 10dpo and then CD1 at 11dpo so I think that should be long enough (everything I've read seems to say a 10 day luteal phase is fine).

Belle2008 · 01/11/2018 22:50

6dpo here so joining!! Good luck everyone!

OneMoreWish · 01/11/2018 20:05

@Mamabear12 yes ovulation does come quick doesn't it - though I always worry near the time I'm going to miss the surge. At least in tww I have no responsibility to get it right. Well I say that when I'm waiting for surge but then when I'm in tww time drags soooooo slowly.

I have a dear dear baby boy who turns 1 in a fortnight so I have plenty to occupy myself ( and hate myself for wishing the time away when I look at him)

So I try to keep busy and out and about. In the day it's fine but once my boy is asleep I then googled everything you can imagine about the tww, conception , iui, symptoms anything you can think of lol xx
