Anyone else starting the two week wait?

We dtd Monday morning and now the two week wait. Not that hopeful as I feel I was one day too late. But it was during the 48 window of the static smile face. Second day though. Anyone else just about to start or at the beginning of the 2 week wait? How are you keeping busy?

Eek I bought four Superdrug tests today... two for £4.98 but it was buy one get one half price and I figured it was cheaper than frers ( I e got them in to but don't want to waste them too early)

Not that I'm planning on using them from 8dpo or anything ....

Good idea, thanks, architects are clever so-and-so's. Love a floorplan anyway!

In other news, just POAS and got a big fat negative, which I expected to be honest :(

Mamabear12 · 06/11/2018 11:36

If you have an attic, most likely you can make another room or two for sure. An architect could figure out about the stairs. Look up houses in your area on right move and you could look at the floor plans etc to see what others have done.

@Mamabear12 - it's got a teeny garden and is semi-detached, so not really. We are getting the crummy little lean-to and old coal shed converted into a proper utility area & downstairs loo sometime next year. Still not enough room there for a 3rd bedroom though sadly, but that will make some room at least!
In desperation, there's the attic... not sure about stairs though! Haha, ah the fun

Mamabear12 · 06/11/2018 11:23

Forgot to mention I knew one family that had 4 boys, all sharing one room! They live in 3 bedroom and still put all 4 in one room and make the other room a playroom. Age gap is 2 years for each dc. People make it work. And it’s totally doable to put all kids in one room. We stayed at a place during holiday and we had one bunk room with four beds and one room with double bed. But we ended up all sleeping in the bunk roOm. It was super cozy. They way it was done, is each bed had a little reading light, book for books or to place water and a curtain for each bed for privacy. It was done up really nice.

Starkid, are you sure there is no option to expand house? Ours was oringinally a 2 bedroom and the previous owners expanded it to a 5 bedroom! All the houses on our street were two beds and converted to 3-4 bedrooms. Ours is 5, but 3 of the rooms are small (but big enough to be used as bedroom). There is also the option to dig a basement. I have been doing loads of research on this. Another family I know, made the living room smaller to make a tiny bedroom for the girls to share and put a bunk bed.

My neighbours have 3 kids in same sized house and manage fine, it's just a bit awkward with the bug gap and older two being one of each. They would happily share again I think but will probably be verging on too old for that if / when new little person needs to go out of our room so will probably bundle them together by gender.

The symptom spotting has now started despite the fact it's probably only around implantation just now if everything's going as it should.

starkid · 06/11/2018 09:31

@Mamabear12 - well it was 26 days last month, and 31 days the month before that! So not really sure to be honest Confused This will be my first, so haven't got a clue about how I'm meant to feel really, so just symptom spotting like a (hopeful) maniac!

It's hard with working out sleeping arrangements long-term isn't it? I don't even have any yet, but am already worrying about our (lovely!) 2 bedroom house with no options to turn into a 3 bedroom.

Mamabear12 · 06/11/2018 09:25

Easterbuns1. Mine have also asked for a baby for a while now. We were back and fourth about it for a while. We even got a puppy. I thought perhaps that might be my baby and she still is 😀 but she is so lovely and easy that I am still ready for a third dc. My friend lives in a 3 bedroom and has 3 Kids and an au pair! She put two kids in one room. Baby sleeps with parents and au pair has own room. I guess yours might be too old to share if they are of opposite sex? Mine currently share and they are boy and girl. But still okay ages 5 and 6. I plan to separate them maybe in a year or two. Although, usually my ds (younger one) sleeps in our bed almost every night (hence that added difficulty for us to dtd lol). We have extra rooms in our house, but we tend to mainly use two rooms for sleeping. For now anyway! I assume if we have a third, I’ll have to sleep in the room alone (although my dd insists she wants to be in room w us!).

Starkid, do you know your cycle length? I don’t really feel any different so I don’t feel hopeful. Although, from past experience I never had symptoms anyway until further along.

welcome starkid and good luck!

starkid · 06/11/2018 09:02

Can I join too? I'm 28, on cycle 2. If I ovulated when I think I did, I'm 8dpo.
Thought I saw possible implantation bleeding a couple of days ago. But got sore boobs today and feeling a bit grumpy, so not feeling hopeful now. Period due any day :(
Fingers crossed everyone!

Easterbuns1 · 06/11/2018 07:47

I did a IC yesterday 🙈😂 don't even know why I bothered it's far too early for me I think I just like POAS. Definitely not touching another til at least Friday (honest).

My have one of each ages 9 and coming up for 8 so a pretty big gap and we are in a 3 bed so not sure how living arrangements will all work out but they have been saying for ages they would like me to have a baby which is nice!

Mamabear12 · 06/11/2018 07:24

I agree,it’s addictive for sure! Even this morning I thought should I poas? But stopped myself lol. Maybe I’ll just use the leftover ovulation strips lol. Apparently those pick up pregnancy hormone as it’s similar to the surge one. I’ve got several extra, as I knew when to start testing so I only had one day of circle and it went the next day to flashing for 4 days to static.

And now I only have one first response test left so I better save it until at least tomorrow or better Thursday!!

Has anyone else caved?

OP posts:
OneMoreWish · 05/11/2018 20:19

@Mamabear12 it's way to early yet so don't count yourself out just yet!

Saying that I'm 7dpo tomorrow and already fighting urge of thinking what's the harm of poas on ic - it is seriously addictive!

I have blood snot ( yuk tmi) and blood in nose but not quite nose bleed. I have of course googled! I would love to believe this meant I'm pregnant but surely it's still too early?

Ahh I'm sure my clock has slowed down , time is really dragging

Mamabear12 · 05/11/2018 19:35

Easterbuns1 how old are you two dc? I am starting to worry about the age gap! Which my dp agreed to try earlier! My youngest just turned 5. But I guess the older two will be very independent so will be easy to focus on the little one. At least while they are at school.

OP posts:
Easterbuns1 · 05/11/2018 19:17

I really am going to try and wait til Sunday but will most likely be on Friday. Older two dc are away to their dad's so will just be me and dp here. I will likely know by Wednesday or Thursday if I'm out though as that's when id expect to be full of pmt!

Mamabear12 · 05/11/2018 18:41

I tested today. Even though it’s way too early! Negative of course. I don’t really feel pregnant. With my second I kind of just had that feeling and was super tired. I have this worry it will take me a while to get pregnant. But I guess I should just enjoy this whole process and think positive. Good luck to everyone! This two week wait feels like Forever!

Sophie2205 how old are your other two dc?

OP posts:
mum22soon23 · 05/11/2018 18:13

@Easterbuns1 erm probably tomorrow at 7dpo ! Implantation just may have happened, I've had loads of cramps and things going on today and boobs are really sore so I've got my fingers crossed. Will be testing first thing ! You ?? X

Easterbuns1 · 05/11/2018 16:46

@sophie2205 when do you plan on testing? I have zero willpower I ordered a couple first response tests today off eBay despite the fact I've already got a pack of 10 eBay cheapies in the house.

sophie2205 · 05/11/2018 11:22

I'm also 6dpo - I think - first month of actually trying for #3 first cycle off the implant I had a 25 day cycle then the next cycle was 30 days.
I think I ov'd Tuesday which would work for my 25 day cycle we dtd that day but then also dtd on the Friday which would have been 2days prior to my ovulation on a 30day cycle (I'm mega confused)
used opk's but didn't have a positive result really had two lines but one was lighter than the other for about 4 days then nothing.
Fingers crossed - trying not to symptom spot but it's so hard. Boobs are tender and I am absolutely exhausted but I do have two children keeping me up at night lol!! Good luck everyone !
Xx

Easterbuns1 · 05/11/2018 10:41

I'm 6dpo, planning to test on Sunday when I'm 12dpo. That's 1 or 2 days before AF due going by the two different apps i use and id rather do it when dp is here. I was really confident earlier in cycle that I would fall quickly again but not it's getting closer to AF I'm not really hopeful at all. It's going to be a long week.

jq28 · 05/11/2018 10:24

Il probably wait until Friday due on on Monday!
2nd proper month of trying.

Farhana170 · 05/11/2018 09:17

Hi Mamabear12 - trying for my first, first month of trying. Fingers crossed for all of us! TWW is loooooooooong!

LongLegsStarryEyes · 05/11/2018 09:17

Can I join? Driving myself crazy!

I think I'm 5dpo - I've been using an app rather than sticks so no idea how accurate it is. Massively symptom spotting now, my boobs feel so sore and swollen, and I've had odd moments of dizziness and feeling mildly nauseous.

It's weird, I went from "I suppose I'm 32 if we ever want to have kids we should probably start trying" to "I NEED A BABY NOW!" in about a 1 month period! It's all I can think about!

Just ordered some of those first response sticks where you can supposedly test 6 days before your period... which would be end of this week.

Good luck everyone - anyone else madly symptom spotting?

Mamabear12 · 05/11/2018 09:03

Jq28. When do you plan to test? I think I’m 7 dpo. But not sure as could only be 6. As I only know when I got the surge, not when I ovulated.

8dpo today and has awful cramps and back ache yesterday afternoon and evening. Hope it's a good sign! X
