TTC Baby No.2 <3

MeghanV07 · 31/10/2018 08:43

Thought I'd start a thread for TTC Baby no.2 as I can't find any active ones 😔.

I'll start -

CD1 - Af showed her ugly face today.
Cycle 2 of TTC after a miscarriage in September 😔.
I have a DS who is one on Saturday, so the mix or emotions from that, the fact I'm not pregnant & AF is a little over whelming this week 😂

Hope to have some lovelies join ❤️

Hi all, it’s been a bit quiet in here for a few days, hope you’re all doing ok. Naughty @Beckie for testing early 😂, (we all do it).

I’m really unsure what my cycle is doing this month, I’m now on CD22, but have no clue if I’ve ovulated yet or not. I haven’t had any ewcm to speak of yet this cycle, but we have DTD every 2-3 days since CD9 (getting hard to keep the momentum going now, my sex drive isn’t really that good atm).

When we were TTC DD1 the cycle that I didn’t notice any ewcm and didn’t get ovulation pains was the one I got pregnant, so I’m trying to stay optimistic. I’m just hoping it’s not cus I’m gonna have a super long cycle due to weaning. I’ve never had a cycle longer than 35 days in my life.

Let’s hope I have ovulated already because I don’t know if I can keep trying to DTD all month like this.

Morwenna1 · 26/11/2018 14:44

Should also add I'm trying to not get stressed and isn't it hard finding energy to DTD with a toddler?!

Morwenna1 · 26/11/2018 14:42

Hi ladies, can I join you please? I'm 35 and have been TTC no.2 for 5mnths. DS is now 2yo and it only took 3 cycles so I'm hoping it's just a case of persevering! I'm using Clue app to track my cycles and have recently started using OPK's (How does everyone use them, continually test through month or just around fertile window?) Currently on 2ww but I've had cramps the last few days. Also wondered if anyone else had a short luteal phase?

Hazandduck · 26/11/2018 09:43

Ah @beckie you may not be out yet! Fingers crossed it’s just too early.
Aren’t our bodies crazy things @boodles!! I’ve just been writing out names that go with DD’s name all weekend so yeah I think I’m broody ha! X

Beckie1987 · 26/11/2018 09:15

Did I pt early and got a bfn this morning af isn't due till Thursday but couldn't help myself 🙈 now just feel depressed. Shouldn't have done it as it's still too early. Checked it 3 times already 😂

boodles101 · 22/11/2018 18:50

@hazandduck that happened to me with my DS too, my periods returned on his 1st birthday. I thought it was so strange to be that exact day! Then pretty much straight away all the broodiness for number 2 kicked in!

I've finally come off the pill and just going to be tracking things for now and see what happens from next month. DS is being a nightmare with sleep at the moment so thats a contraceptive in itself!

Hazandduck · 19/11/2018 08:53

Oh @meghanV07 I really do feel for you, DH and I were actually discussing this exact feeling yesterday. We have agreed we are definitely ready to TTC again but he said yesterday the only person holding back is you! I don’t know how he knew I am already anxious about miscarrying. I said I honestly could go through labour and pregnancy a hundred times over again but having more miscarriages I just don’t know if I could deal with it.
I know I have to go for it I look at my little girl and think she was worth all that pain before! But I have so many friends who are pregnant and the thought of being the one left behind again makes me feel a bit sick to be honest (when I miscarried last time I had two friends due around the same time - one even had the same due date and it was so hard watching her bump grow and her with her perfect baby boy.)
I am so grateful for my baby girl she is honestly the best thing that ever happened to us, I don’t really believe we will get so lucky again. She was one on Saturday, I feel so emotional! I also came on my period on Sunday morning, first one since having her! How mad is that? Like my body knew! It freaked me out a bit but at least now I know my body is kind of ready for number two. I’m still breastfeeding but trying to drop feeds. It’s very hard though. I keep waking up with big wet patches on my top like when she was newborn!
Hope everyone is ok and crossing fingers for lots of BFPs in the next few weeks! Xx

Kaye03 · 19/11/2018 07:22

Im in the same situation as Beckie1987. Now gona be playing the 2 week waiting game. Dont feel optimistic though. Just hate feeling disappointed every month when af comes. 😒

doomkittycleo · 18/11/2018 20:06

Hi all, hope everyone is well. I really don’t know what to make of this cycle (2nd full cycle since weaning) I’m currently on CD14, have had no ewcm at all yet this cycle, but have had tingly breasts for the past 3 days, also no signs of positive opks either. DP is working away tomorrow and we have BD’d on CD’s 9 and 12 so far.

I’m wondering if this is gonna be a mega long cycle as my hormones settle from weaning. It’s so frustrating as the last cycle was only 27 days long, but the previous ones (prior to weaning have been 30-32 days long).

I’ll try and jump on DP tonight “just in case”, but ovulation could be a way off. Then again I didn’t notice any the month we conceived DD even though I did notice it every other month when we didn’t conceive.

Bah, ... why does my body not follow the rules.

Beckie1987 · 18/11/2018 17:28

@Moncwf o has just finished so I'm starting the 2 week wait but think we probably missed it this month as got a positive on the opk when dh was away but he came home the next day so may have caught it. Fingers crossed!!

Moncwf · 18/11/2018 12:42

Well I'm out 5/6 days early! I thought I had ovulation signs about 5 days early so I suppose it means I'm right about those. And it means we can try again sooner so that's good. How's everyone else?

Moncwf · 15/11/2018 20:24

Oh @MeghanV07 how horrible for you. She probably meant well but it's not what you want to hear! Have you got good support from other friends/family? It's a loss and you are entitled to grieve it.

MeghanV07 · 15/11/2018 18:14

@Moncwf it's just an absolute head f*ck isn't it!!

I'm finding myself wish AF was here all the time now, it's the only time I don't worry, stress or obsess over getting pregnant 😔.

I felt like I was dealing with my MC and not being pregnant anymore. I saw a friend yesterday who I hadn't seen for a year and she just kept questioning me about it all and I tried to keep changing the subject and get her to stop talking about it but she just kept asking why it happened. WELL HUN IF I KNEW THAT ID LET YA KNOW! So I feel like I'm now worrying and obsessing again 😭💔 xxx

Moncwf · 15/11/2018 17:52

@meghanv07 that's frustrating. I wasn't tracking properly as we started mid month so now not sure if we missed it or I just didn't ovulate. I am in the tww and symptom spotting even though it's very unlikely I'm pregnant and I know from my son that symptoms are pretty much meaningless until af is due Hmm

MeghanV07 · 15/11/2018 07:06

Sorry girls I'm really trying to not go crazy this month so have been rubbish at keeping up with this thread!

My tracking is driving me mad, no clear signs of ovulation yet. Had some EWCM a few days ago but not confirmed ovulation on my chart 😔.

How is everyone? Xxx

Welcome all newbies.

@Kaye03, you’re very close to me, except DD is 14 months. I also stopped BF at 1 year, so you’ been stopped about a month longer than me.

We needed clomid with DD1 though, never did figure out why I wasn’t ovulating as I don’t have PCOS or anything, just never started ovulating after stopping the pill (2 years after and still never corrected itself).

Kaye03 · 14/11/2018 17:52

Moncwf i stopped bf when dd turned 1. She weaned off herself. ttc since then.

Moncwf · 14/11/2018 17:45

@Beckie1987 I used those with DS. Have ordered more but think I was too late testing this cycle. You can get the occasional dud though.

@kaye03 hi! Are you still breastfeeding? That could effect fertility. I read somewhere putting fat back in your diet can help.

£5 for 30

MummaGiles · 14/11/2018 13:39

Top tips! Thanks. Might give them a go.

Beckie1987 · 14/11/2018 13:36

@MummaGiles I just use them one step ones too from amazon they are under a tenner. I wouldn't use clear blue they are about £30! I start testing about cd 10 as should ovulate around middle of the month (day14) but maybe first time do it from day 7 so you get an idea when o is as could be earlier or later everyone's different

Once I get a positive I'll test again next day then don't bother rest of the month so probably only go through 5/6 per month

Kaye03 · 14/11/2018 12:57

Can i join aswell please.
dd is going to be 15 months.
Been ttc for 5 months
Always mentally keep getting my hopes up every month, i try not to but its hard. Then af shows up, feel down & upset when it does.
Using opks, dtd every other day, when clear blue advance digital shows high. Try to 2 a day when its peak. Still no luck.
Managed to conceive easily with dd.

doomkittycleo · 14/11/2018 12:11

@Mummagiles you can buy huge packs of internet cheapies (very basic ovulation tests like these).

A bit harder to read, but saves a fortune on the ones in the supermarket.

MummaGiles · 14/11/2018 11:53

Ah ok. So when in your cycle would you start testing then? Sounds like it could turn into an expensive habit 😆

Beckie1987 · 14/11/2018 11:48

@MummaGiles they test for a LH hormone that you release about 12-36 before o then the egg survives about 24 hours. But sperm can survive for days so my most fertile days was probably yesterday, today and tomorrow (the nights he's away 🙄) at a push Friday but he'll have to have his pants down the minute he walks through the door 😂😂. Mood killer at expert level 👍

You literally have a window of about 4 days per month to get pregnant...as you can see I'm a geek and have read far too much into ovulation 😂
