Hi,

My partner and I have been waiting for an IVF referral for a few weeks as he had a very low sperm count from cancer treatment. I had a colposcopy & biopsy just before ovulation after abnormal smear results and we had sex around ovulation, just after I think. I thought the colposcopy/biopsy might have delayed my period somehow.

My period is now two days late and I have no PMS symptoms but have had heartburn for the past five days, occasional nausea and feeling SO tired. I've POAS but with midday urine and I can see the faintest line, is it an evap?

I will try again in the morning but I'm driving myself insane!! It's darker in real life but only slightly, it's so close to the edge that I'm not sure if it's in the right place. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Is this an evap line?

Sorry OP, hope you’re ok.

Mistymeow · 07/11/2018 11:37

@MapleSpice glad I could help, and also that you are feeling a little better. There are some lovely, supportive ladies on another thread who have experienced loss, and a few of us have fertility issues too. When you are ready do join us for some extra support. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3373532-ttc-after-pregnancy-loss-thread-26-bfps-are-coming

Thank you for all your lovely replies I couldn't read them for a few days as I was too upset but I've not cried yet today so I'm taking that as a step forwards! This thread has made me feel much less alone, I still struggle a lot when I'm alone and it's hard to try to get on top of the negative thoughts towards myself but I'm trying my best.

@Mistymeow thank you so much, I've been looking at the website and it made me understand things a bit more. It's also reassuring to hear about your friend.

Oh OP, I'm so sorry

footballagain3 · 05/11/2018 12:40

I am so so sorry OP it does sound like a miscarriage as the pregnancy test picked something up aswell.

Mistymeow · 05/11/2018 12:39

@MapleSpice I have just read your thread and I am so sorry to hear your news. I'm sorry the hospital were not very helpful explaining what had happened. I wanted to let you know that my DH also has a low sperm count and I fell pregnant naturally, but had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks. I was devastated like you are, but we are now being referred for IVF and feel a lot more positive. It will get better. We know someone who had 3 (just 3) sperm and they had twins through IVF. It will get easier, just give yourself time. I would strongly suggest with your history of anxiety to seek help from the Miscarriage Association www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/how-we-help/

Lots of love xx

I'm so sorry

Sandbox · 05/11/2018 12:12

Oh I’m sorry I’ve just seen your update Flowers

Sandbox · 05/11/2018 12:12

I can see it and normally on these posts I never see it. I’d be wary of getting hopes up until it’s confirmed by doctor though! Good luck x

MapleSpice · 05/11/2018 12:09

I'm sorry for spelling/mistakes, I couldn't face re-reading. I've had depression/anxiety since I was 14 and self-harmed etc., so I know I might be coming across as stupid and pathetic but I'm really struggling at the moment to accept what's happening to me.

I just wanted to update you all after you were so lovely and supportive last week. I had a call to say my hcg was lower than they'd have expected so they wanted me to wait a week and take another pregnancy test before they'd decide whether to watch and wait for my LLETZ treatment. I was worried but tried to stay hopeful, unfortunately I started bleeding on Friday at 4:30am and the pain was overwhelming. My partner took me to hospital where they said my new blood test showed a level of 2 hcg.

The doctor and a nurse did internal exams etc., and said I would be sent for a scan as the pain was so intense on one side but after the shift change a different doctor came in and told me I wasn't pregnant and that it was just my period.

I know my body. I know I was pregnant and my periods are never ever late, I've barely lost any blood (TMI but not enough to soak a pad, just when I wipe) and my periods are not like this. I don't understand how I can have the tests on this thread that I posted, a positive urine test at the hospital and then this.

My partner and I felt like she was telling me it was a period to make me feel better because I'd had anxiety attack after anxiety attach at the hospital and I was really struggling to cope, she was so dismissive and abrupt too. I'm finding it hard to come to terms with anything because I felt pregnant. The tests all said I was, I can remember the nurse's face on Wednesday when they told me I was pregnant but I feel like this last doctor just didn't think I could cope hearing I was having a miscarriage.

To be honest I don't feel like I can cope anyway, I'm so low and struggling to accept what's happened because I know deep down it's a miscarriage but I feel so stupid for believing when they told me I was pregnant and even printed it out for me. I don't know why I'm posting really, I just need someone to listen and talk some sense to me! I feel utterly heartbroken and lost.

MapleSpice · 31/10/2018 21:51

Ahh thank you all! My partner is over the moon he couldn't believe it! We're so excited and happy, I was in shock for a few hours after they confirmed it just because it was so unlikely to happen!

@Ozziewozzie I can't wait for big pants his face just lit up, he couldn't stop smiling and he's been asking a billion questions. He was so happy to see it in writing on that paper!
