We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

@CNizzle stay home and take care of yourself. You are going through so much emotionally and there is nothing wrong with staying in. Honestly I prefer it even when I’m feeling fine!

@PixieN and @Rachyrach83 yay for your high readings! Sometimes you get more “highs” than other times, you just have to go with it and see what it does. Day 6 does seem early but if your last AF was unusual, it could be throwing everything off.

@pattyhoo I found it impossible to act totally spontaneous. For us, we decided how many fertile days we wanted to hit and tried to cut ourselves a break if we didn’t want to avail ourselves of every opportunity. The cycle we were successful, we only managed once.

Although it’s also a good opportunity to try new things!

Rachyrach83 · 29/12/2018 11:35

Hi all
AF seems to have stopped and started my first test day on clearblue monitor today.
Expecting a lie but got a high??!! Day 6??
Maybe AF affecting it??

Has anyone else found that starting ttc has changed sex for them? I'm finding it's become like a task rather than a treat if that makes sense. There is something quite off putting about a pee stick and thermometer telling me I need to get DP to dtd! We've been trying for three/four months now and I do enjoy each time we try but it's not the same. Anyone else feel like this? Does it get better over time?

PixieN · 29/12/2018 09:49

Sorry to hear that @CNizzle sounds like you’ve had a lot to deal with Flowers

I’m glad Christmas is over too as we’ve also spent a lot of time away from home and have lots to do in the house, but i’m loving being off work. New Year will be a quiet one for us. Really need to have some alcohol free days, but I’ve got a night out with friends coming up in the 1st week of Jan..... 🤔

Had my first high reading on the CB monitor this morning on day 11 (compared to day 14 last month) so need to get ready for some dtd action over the next few days - just feel so tired 💤

CNizzle · 29/12/2018 09:24

Im definitely going to try that mulled gin @BambiOnIce80!!
Is anyone else glad Christmas is over? Im back in my own house now after 6 days at mum & dads. Kinda just want routine back. I usually only have Christmas day & new years day off work, so.its been a bit weird too.
Not planning on going out for new year, think OH wants to go to town, but trying to get home will be a nightmare, I'm suggesting we spend a quiet one in the house.
Ive been really struggling this week. AF turning up on christmas day, dad being poorly. My best friend's mum passed away last weekend too. Its become a bit much. The thought of going out & being sociable is crippling.

Kescilly · 28/12/2018 14:09

@Rachyrach83 oh good, no more surprises then! I hate being caught off guard and our bodies are so unpredictable sometimes.

Rachyrach83 · 28/12/2018 13:18

Hi @kescilly

Thanks for asking!
Everything has stopped!! I had one day of normal AF,one day of a zombie apocalypse going on.... then it’s like someone turned off the tap! Literally. Nothing even on wiping for nearly 48hrs. I would have said maybe it wasn’t AF but some retained product, but I got BFN 7 days earlier so can’t be that. Odd!

Kescilly · 28/12/2018 13:08

@Rachyrach83 how are you doing today? I'm glad that you had a good Christmas.

@BambiOnIce80 that sucks about the shifts, but still not terrible timing. There's a chance! I never got the hang of temping, my charts never made any sense.

How's everyone else recovering from Christmas? Any NYE plans?

Emmz84 · 27/12/2018 18:42

Thankyou @BambiOnIce80.
DH is currently at work and due home around 20:30. May just jump on him in the hallway as he gets in!!

What a pain with working opposite shifts!!
I know that feeling as both myself and DH tend to end up this way ALOT!!

BambiOnIce80 · 27/12/2018 17:27

Oh crikey @Rachyrach83, sounds like you had a bit of a day it! I guess it's a positive thing that your cycle will be getting back on track though 🤞🏻🍀

I would indeed call that a BFP OPK @Emmz84 🙂 Time to DTD for you! 😉

I've had the same today (looks like we're cycle buddies this time!), but my plans for plenty of BDing this week have gone to hell in a hand basket 🙄 DP is on a 12 hour day shift and I'm having to cover a 12 hour night shift tonight, so we won't get anywhere near each other until tomorrow night (by which time we'll probably have missed our window of opportunity 😔). Managed to DTD 2 days ago, so technically in with a chance but not a good one 😒 Crazy temp chart went up yesterday though, so rather confused that the OPK and temping don't align 🤷‍♀️

Emmz84 · 27/12/2018 17:05

Hi guys,
Would you say this was a positive OPK?
I’ve only been using them for three days so quite new to them and feeling confused. I’m cycle day 15 at the moment.

Hi all
Hope you had a nice Xmas!
Was lovely spending it with family and mum had a blast!!
AF is here... (first after ERPC) day 1 (Xmas eve) faintly normal but day 2 was horrific for around 5-6hours. Sorry TMI but blood was really thin and literally dripping from me! Regular tampons were soaking in an hour max - and didn’t take pads with me!! Sneezed at one point with tampon in and gushed and soaked through knickers and jeans! Luckily it was around 8pm so made my excuses to get into my PJs as we were staying over.
Today..... nothing!!! Literally nothing!! So odd!!

Anyway. I’m putting this down to a good clear out and hoping for my uterus to be well and truely ready now. FX!! Xx

BambiOnIce80 · 26/12/2018 17:26

@CNizzle, it's awesome 🍸😎:

200ml spiced gin (ideally Darnley's, but Peaky Blinder works too)
350ml Cloudy apple juice
500ml Ginger beer
50g demerara sugar
80ml lime juice
1 cinnamon stick
Apple slices to garnish

Heat up all the ingredients apart from the gin in a pan for 5 minutes. Add the gin, strain and serve with apple slices. Enjoy!x

Mulled gin punch.... @BambiOnIce80 please tell me more!

Carley321 · 26/12/2018 14:40

@79andnotout haha. Hope the drink didn’t disagree with you to much afterwards. All I’ve done I drink and am paying for it today I can tell you!

@MrsRRC wow what wonderful news for Christmas. Huge Congratulations to you.

Congratulations @Pinkywoo that’s lovely and the ring is stunning.

Congratulations @Kescilly a little girl.... just amazing 💗.

@BambiOnIce good luck with the graph 🙈😂 and we’ll done for kicking Christmas of with a bang 😁.

BambiOnIce80 · 26/12/2018 12:16

@Pinkywoo that's beautiful! 💍😍 Did you choose it or did he pull a blinder?!x

So sorry that you've had some disappointing responses from some IRL friends @Kescilly 🙁 I suppose you never know what's going on behind closed doors, but that's the kind of news that deserves some excitement!

Glad you're starting to feel better @Blondcat 🙂

So glad to hear that your Christmas was OK in the end @CNizzle 😊

We've got friends coming round for drinks this afternoon, so this morning I've put all the presents away (aka wrangled our living space into not looking like a bombs gone off 💣💥), hoovered, mopped and am now about to make some mulled gin punch 🍸

... Thinking of doing dry January so that when we get our ACU appointment in the beginning of the New Year I can say with a straight face how many units I drink 😬

Awwwww amazing, congrats @MrsRRC fx for a happy & healthy pregnancy ❤❤
Oooh @Pinkywoo thats beautiful. I love the shape.

Yesterday was ok actually. The kids made it a lovely day, they were so excited. My sister had made a video showing a reindeer in their living room, and the oldest (5) was just so chuffed with this. A magical time for them, and they brought a lot of joy to all of us. Dad slept through most of the day. Im pretty sure just glad to make it to christmas day. He'd been so worried thst he'd miss it earlier in the year.
@Rachyrach83 my thoughts are with you too. This year has been terribly sad for a number of my irl friends too for various reasons. This time of year just seems to heighten all the emotions.
Hope everyone is enjoying their time with livwd ones, or at least making it bearable with lidl wine 😉 @79andnotout 😂

VenusStarr · 26/12/2018 10:30

Wonderful news @MrsRRC congratulations 💖

Blondcat · 26/12/2018 10:27

@kescilly yes thankfully getting much better. Still have some days worse than others but generally now only get the nausea when really hungry or over tired.

Kescilly · 26/12/2018 10:24

@CNizzle and @Rachyrach83 I’m sorry that Christmas has been difficult this year because your parents are ill. We are always here to listen.

@Pinkywoo that’s fantastic! Congrats! That will certainly be a moment to remember. I bet you’re still glowing from happiness! 🎄💍

@Blondcat stay strong! We only did it because of the failed NIPT. We’ve been stressed about the potential risk factors increasing. I’d rather have had the genetic screening from the NIPT, but this was our way to let go of some of the stress and move on to enjoy the pregnancy. How are you feeling? Nausea any better?

@MrsRRC congrats!! I know that you’re feeling cautious. But it’s still something to celebrate and I’m really happy for you.

Also thank you to everyone for always being so supportive. We told a few people about finding out it’s a girl and had really disappointing responses. You guys are always great!

Pinkywoo · 26/12/2018 10:19

Thanks everyone, and congratulations @MrsRRC, that's brilliant news! It will definitely not be a big sicilian wedding, we're saving for a house deposit and can't be dealing with all the family politics, but go on then here's the ring!

pattyhoo · 26/12/2018 10:08

Congratulations @Kescilly & @Pinkywoo Smile

PixieN · 26/12/2018 09:53

Fab news @MrsRRC 🎉💕x

We’re meeting some friends for a walk today. Need to start exercising properly again, but i’ve had a sore knee for a while. Tried some gentle exercise on the bike at the gym a few days ago as it’s supposed to be low impact and good for knees, but i’m missing Zumba - not been to my class for ages.

79andnotout · 26/12/2018 09:09

Ah great news @MrsRRC ! So pleased for you.

MrsRRC · 26/12/2018 09:07

Thanks @blondcat all I have to do now is work on my poker face 😬

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 could do with some luck 😁

Hope you girls all had a lovely Christmas. We have my parents over today. I love them but they are HARD WORK sometimes.

What are you all up to for today?
