waiting to TTC January- anyone else?

Hi everyone!I thought I would see if anyone else is in the same boat as me!

I am currently on my last pill packet, with the view to use condoms until January (planning in some time for my cycles to settle, though no idea how long that will actually take!)

We are going to 'see what happens' in January, as I don't want to start out too obsessed (though that is likely to escalate!), then if nothing happens within a few months we could start tracking.

I want to sort my diet/ exercise regime out before January really as I have been quite lazy recently! I have been taking folic acid and vit d for about a month now as I read that it is good to build up the supply in your eggs or something? This could be total rubbish though..

Is anyone else waiting until the New Year to TTC? What are your plans re tracking etc.? I am a bit clueless as about that!

Joining this thread. Stopped the pill last month. Started vitamins and exercising. Now just waiting to get my body ready for TTC.

ernjas · 28/11/2018 10:12

@HJWT I had a giggle at that 😂 my DP is the same. He struggled with a newborn but is amazing and so hands on with a toddler!

HJWT · 28/11/2018 09:50

@Pinacolada1234 @Jelliestogether I took the boots own brand with my DD they are £7 odd for 30 days worth! Have got some more and will start taking them this weekend !! Eek!

My DH said to me this morning 'are you ready for this, I'm quite selfish you know' 😂 I had to laugh what he means is he doesn't really do much with a newborn but I know he will do everything for our toddler !

Jelliestogether · 28/11/2018 05:48

@pinacolada1234 I just take tescos own

www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/255462131?sc_cmp=ppcGHS+-+Grocery+-+NewPX+%7C+Shopping+GSC+%7C+Top+Offers+%2B+Tesco+BrandHealth+%26+Beauty+-+Top+OffersPRODUCT_GROUP255462131*&ds_rl=1116019&ds_rl=1116016&ds_rl=1116019&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj-i4oLH23gIVSLDtCh3u9gYjEAQYBiABEgJJjvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

They smell and taste like gravy so I just don't think about it but seems to have helped me. Like I said though I've been off the pill for nearly 18 months so not sure if that's the reason my cycles have finally regulated or the vitamins but either way I'll carry on with them for now. I don't think they've quite got enough folic acid in ideally so will start taking some of that soon

MrsPMT23 · 27/11/2018 19:30

@HJWT I know - it took ages for my GP to finally agree to take my implant out years ago, I was having really bad side effects and they were so against it being removed. Hope you get an appt soon!

@ernjas welcome!

ernjas · 27/11/2018 18:00

Can I jump on? Wanting to TTC in January, will have a 2year 10month old boy at that point!

HJWT · 27/11/2018 17:52

@MrsPMT23 NO! I'm going to try again tomorrow! If not I'll just go to my local sexual health clinic! I find doctors are not letting people remove contraception for some stupid reason or at least trying to get them to put it of !!

Pinacolada1234 · 27/11/2018 17:46

@Jelliestogether what vitamins are you taking please?

MrsPMT23 · 27/11/2018 16:39

@HJWT have you managed to book the appointment yet?!

@Jelliestogether I wasn't planning to do OPK's or temp tracking but think I'll just do it this month to see when I ovulate on this new cycle length. Happy to hear you've had the same reaction to the vitamins - I guess it must be!

Looks like my fertile period will be very beginning of January at least Grin

Jelliestogether · 26/11/2018 17:12

@mrspmt23 I'm not planning on using ovulation sticks/tracking temps etc especially at the start. Since I started taking my vitamins my periods have regulated massively, stopped taking my pill in June 17 (18 months ago) my periods were all over the place 28-50ish days! But since taking them 2 months ago I've had 2 cycles 32 and 29 days. Not sure if it's coincence or not but I'll keep taking them!

HJWT · 26/11/2018 16:31

**Removed

HJWT · 26/11/2018 16:30

@MrsPMT23 haha me to !! I'm hoping to get my implant removed after the 16th, last time I got it recovered end of Nov had a period mid December and was pregnant by Jan 9th, so hoping I at least have a period straight after x

MrsPMT23 · 26/11/2018 14:33

Welcome @APositiveMind

@HJWT I have just bought a large pack of highly sensitive ones off of Amazon that has fairly good reviews.

My cycles are usually pretty consistent between 32-36 days but AF arrived this week after 29 days. The only change recently is the prenatal vitamins, has this affected anyone else?

HJWT · 25/11/2018 20:57

What's Ovulation sticks does everyone recommend ?? I'm going to get some to see if I ovulate when my implant is taken out in a couple of weeks!

Pastaallday · 25/11/2018 13:51

Well today my first AF since stopping the pill arrived! A long 70days it took.....Shock now I'm praying that it won't take that long for the second one to arrive! Pretty sure I ovulated 2 weeks ago according to OPK strips so hopefully that was right. Never been so happy to see my period...!

APositiveMind · 24/11/2018 17:57

Jumping on as waiting to ttc in january! New year new beginnings maybe?

becca3210 · 21/11/2018 14:48

@Jelliestogether - Ahh that is frustratingI hope you manage to persuade him earlier. I would like my husband to be a bit more enthused about the idea of future parenthood etc. he is a bit ambivalent at the moment. He is a bit of a worrier but has agreed that TTC soon makes sense for us so guess we shall see...

Good luck everybody else. @workinprogressmum you are so right that it doesn't matter when the baby comes as long as both healthy.

MrsPMT23 · 21/11/2018 14:29

HJWT My DD is completely baby obsessed at the moment so I know she'll love it. I just love the time I have with her at the moment but we don't want to leave a bigger age gap and the timing seems right, just so nervous and excited at the same time!

Any other prep other than prenatal vitamins I can do? I definitely need to do some core exercises 🙊🙈

HJWT · 21/11/2018 14:03

@MrsPMT23 I'm exactly the same DD is 2.4 year, the other day we saw a friends new baby she was rocking her noses basket and shushing her... I think they will love it 😍

HJWT · 21/11/2018 13:59

Iv been trying to book an app to get my implant remove for 2 weeks they keep telling me I can't book that far in advance 😂 (mid Dec) I'm so anxious !!! Can't wait now

workinprogressmum · 21/11/2018 13:24

Tentatively saying, me!

Have a 4 year old who took 16 months to concieve. I have PCOS and didn't have periods / ovulate some months. He is our miracle :)

I was meant to have a September baby but he was a month premature so I don't care when baby #2 arrives, as long as we're both healthy. Just being able to both go home after the birth would be an absolute privilege (rather than spending the whole of my husband's paternity leave in special care...).

Good luck to everyone!

MrsPMT23 · 20/11/2018 21:22

Hi ladies! Can I join in too? We're planning on TTC DC2 in January too, currently have a 2.4 DD. Started taking my prenatal vitamins and due to ovulate on 13th Jan. All seems a bit real now I will only have two more AF before trying again. We were really lucky and got a BFP on the first cycle with DD. How are ladies with DCs feeling? I keep going from excitement to feeling really guilty about how much life will change for DD with another baby around.

Lipsticksandlariats · 19/11/2018 20:30

Know some of you ladies have been waiting to TTC for a while now so I need your help. Baby fever is so strong right now but me and partner can't TTC until after our wedding in May 2019. My brother had a baby less than two weeks ago and my fiance's sister is due her second baby a few days after Xmas. So now I can't stop thinking about babies and TTC. Literally any free time is baby dreaming time.
I've been following threads on here and other sites, reading so much info and have bought a bbt thermometer and opks so I can start tracking as im quite irregular.
Anyone got any advice on keeping sane until I can get my IUD taken out after the wedding? Also tips for preparing myself and body? Planning on starting folic acid in the new year.

Jelliestogether · 18/11/2018 18:32

Fingers crossed only a few more weeks. Looks like I'll ovulate in the week running up to Christmas, also happens to be our anniversary! So fingers crossed he doesn't have a wobble and make me wait til Jan! Although today he's saying how worries he is about our ski trip in march so maybe we should wait til Feb...It's driving me made...totally for it one minute. Then the next a wobble! I'm just aware how common it is for problems and he seems to think we will just have sex and I'll be pregnant.

Fingers crossed for your christmas/New year baby!! Same as you will just be keeping it between ourselves for the time being.

becca3210 · 18/11/2018 17:38

@Jelliestogether that's exciting so only a few weeks then if do decide to go for it. Looking like my fertile time will be end of December (Christmas/New Years Eve baby?? here's hoping!!) Are you keeping it between you and your OH that you will be TTC? We are planning on just keeping it between us for now. My older sister unfortunately has been trying for a baby this year with no luck so seems a bit strange to be starting as hoped she would have some good news by now but guess you can't plan these things and think best for us to get started.
