Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hello all, I've not been on the yam thread for about a year but am still unfortunately TTC. Sorry to see some of the same names :( How's everyone doing?

Thanks @impatientmammy - it does seem a long time to wait but they won't see me till I have lost weight - AF isn't happening by itself so I'm having to take tablets to force it on which they will only give me once my BMI is under 30- tried to be so good over Christmas but it's hard! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas :) xx

Welcome @Pinkroseuk. March is such a long time to wait. How you feeling?
I'm at that horrible point where I'm waiting for AF to start I tend to get a tiny bit of spotting and then a couple of days of nothing which sends me wild clinging onto false hope. Doesn't matter how much I know it's coming I always have that but maybe. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas x

I don't want to offend anyone but I care about you all and I am shell shocked - I gave birth 8 weeks early yesterday! Baby is in NICU. I feeling quite traumatised. He is so tiny. I have a chest infection! I hope I haven't hurt anyone x x x

BFN this morning for me followed by a bit of spotting when I whipped after as soon as I saw it I knew it was a waste of a frer. I'm gunna try forget about it now. I think my OH is working away for my next 3 fertile weeks though 😔

Season’s Greetings to all Yammers, coming from Hong Kong airport. DH and I are running away to Tokyo for a week to try and distract ourselves from the pain and limbo we’re in (no TTC until we get the go-ahead from our obstetrician). (Basically we thought, $&@# it, let’s go.) I cried all down the front of DH’s shirt last night when we boarded the plane in Sydney because I saw all the families with babies queuing up to board and got that “why not me” pain. May 2019 bring us all the happiness we’re searching for.

@impatientmammy Those kind of threads are not good for me!! I avoid at all costs now.

FP due 26/ 27th but I'm not testing. I'm away with family for xmas and have deliberately not brought any tests! Not feeling positive. All my pms symptoms are the same as usual so I'm not expecting any Christmas miracles!

Feeling pretty down about it all just now. Think it's because it's almost the end of 2018 and I'm still not pregnant. Another whole year of barren-ness! Trying to think of some good proactive, non-baby related goals for next year.

I joined a thread with fertile people testing in the run up to Christmas I was all excited and confident about the month I think there's been 3 BFPs this week and I have regret 🙈 my confidence in this cycle is plummeting the closer I get to AF. How's everyone doing ? Anyone due to test? X

@Aph413 don't be harsh on yourself I think if anyone of us here on this thread hasn't had that why is it not my pain on their heart reaction to an announcement they must be an angel.
I'm craving a baby tonight too. Can't think of any other way to describe it id happily steal someone else's for a day or too ( with consent of course 😂 ) x

@impatientmammy I keep having that thought in the back of my head. It would be so lovely to have children close in she. She's such a lovely person and I'm genuinely happy for them, it's just very bittersweet and I feel like an awful person because my first thought was it should be me.
I just need to get over myself really and remember to be happy for them.
It may just be the tww hormones getting to me.

Yeah to you too @maddiie3 hope you and all yammers have a fab Christmas! I've tried bbt but I sleep funny, it did tell me I ovulated but I might try natural cycles in January. Currently just started fertile week so hoping for lots of deeds! Off out tonight, well dragging out for mad Friday! Wish me luck 😂

I know lots of you have already tried bbt but I can't help but think it wasn't a total coincidence that I conceived first month I used natural cycles. With PCOS I never understood when I ovulated and my cycles were up to 120+ days sometimes so opks failed miserably. My temps did all the right things and it detected ovulation, told me when to dtd and even detected the pregnancy due to high temps and told me to test. We only had sex about 4 times that entire month and bam. I paid for a years subscription and I've got a good 8 months left on it I wish I could give it to one of you but not exactly possible logistically I imagine. Sorry if you have tried it and didn't need this advice but I wish someone had suggested it to me sooner as after 2 years of trying and failing it just happened so quick. Probably in large part down to just helping me understand my cycles so if you're in a similar position I'd reccomend giving it a go. It's about £40 including thermometer but I tried fertility friend the free one and just didn't understand the charts or the info. NC made it all so clear. 3 weeks until my 12 week scan and I'm still petrified it'll go wrong but just know I'm lucky after all of this.
