Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Wayhey! @ornicus that's amazing news - congratulations! I too wish you a very dull & uneventful 9 months. Be sure to keep us updated!

@si1ver it was you!! - I have totally used that response now and told a friend about it. Genius.

I need talking down yammers: just 5dpo and false hope is filling my head. Sore boobs. Seriously that's it and it's enough to set me off. Please slap me. I should know better after 2 years of this shit.

Chooklass · 12/10/2018 17:34

Yeah, I wouldn't have judged you for that @SparkwoodAnd21!

@maddiie You must be going mad! At least your new GP is now taking it seriously x

We made it to Friday night Yammers! Hope you all have some lovely treats lined up for the weekend? I've decided I'm going to restart my low-sugar diet on Monday so going to eat lots of cake the next 2 days 😂. (Although, FP due on Mon, so perhaps not the best plan!)

maddiie · 12/10/2018 16:37

Haha no worries @Chooklass you are correct, no idea how many dpo but I'm on CD93 Hmm

maddiie · 12/10/2018 16:36

@SparkwoodAnd21 You could rip his arm off and use it to punch him in the balls and I'd still consider that a reasonable response

Welcome @Fae28.. Sorry you're having to join but welcome! X

Si1ver · 12/10/2018 13:49

And for that you're very restrained @SparkwoodAnd21.

I always like to say "Gosh, aren't you brave to say something like that? Can you imagine how awful it would be if you'd accidentally said it to someone who was struggling to conceive or had just had a miscarriage?" And then follow it up with a dead eyed Paddington Bear state.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 12/10/2018 13:44

Should probably point out for legal reasons that I didn’t actually tear off his arm. But I wanted to.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 12/10/2018 13:42

Congratulations orcinus! Have you joined the Yammer graduates thread?

Welcome Fae28. This is a great thread to join, everyone is very supportive here.

My moan for the day: A total stranger at work asked if I was going to have any more children. Bad enough that he asked, but when I said ‘no, probably just the one’ in a bit of a fuck off twatface tone he said ‘you know, I think it’s better to have two, I think you should think about another. But whatever works for you’. Was I unreasonable to tear off his arm and beat him with it, bellowing ‘I’m barren, fucker’? AngrySad

So now I’m going home to cry, and I’ve got some chocolate coins and a mini bottle of prosecco to drink later.

Chooklass · 12/10/2018 11:04

@Fae28 I went to gp after 6 months (as I'm over 35). Next fertility appt in a couple of weeks and suspect we'll be referred for IVF.

Pinkemi · 11/10/2018 21:36

Chooklass · 11/10/2018 21:20

@Chooklass @Owlpatrol I too had a BFN today! Shouldn't of let myself test again but such sore boobs and metallic taste pushed me to it. Hope you're both doing okay.

Congrats @OrcinusOrca so happy for you!

@Pinkemi Sorry to hear you're having a hard few days. Another vote here for moping at home and taking some you time. Xx

Owlpatrol · 11/10/2018 20:30

@OrcinusOrca oooh thanks sounds positive and definately encouraging!

@Chooklass sounds good!

Chooklass · 11/10/2018 20:22

Hey @Owlpatrol I got bfn today too! Think I'm about 10 dpo. I'm having a Netflix day on Sat as I've a knitting project to finish Smile

OP posts:
OrcinusOrca · 11/10/2018 20:09

To be honest @Owlpatrol I'm not a serial tester so it was unusual for me to do it. I had all the signs of FP on Saturday but just had that one gush (despite going and riding a horse after which I was sure would have encouraged it to start). Then I had FP like cramps Sun/Mon/Tues and it was still a no show. Was getting quite aggy at this point and so thought I'd POAS just in case, and low and behold there it was. Still cramping now! Hoping they are part and parcel of early pregnancy, that or I'm a ridiculously delicate flower. Eek. My last cycle was on the full dose of met and that was 27 days, was on day 29 when I tested.

Owlpatrol · 11/10/2018 19:53

Oooh weekend with Netflix and pjs sounds good!
@OrcinusOrca was there anything that made you take a test?
I tested today bfn but I'm only 9dpo shameful!

Chooklass · 11/10/2018 12:23

@Pinkemi - treat yourself to a weekend of hibernating with Netflix and PJs if that's what you need. It's really important to put yourself first while going through all this, I reckon. Smile

@OrcinusOrca Well luckily the time i might need off is in half term week.. so they are expecting it to be quiet. Just spoken to my boss about my "medical appointment" and have taken a day off on the monday for when it is expected.. but have told her that it could be later on that week and that i will work back any time owed. She seemed to accept it.. so thats a MASSIVE weight off my shoulders!

The weekend I dunno.. My mum really wants me to go over to hers to hang out with her but part of me just feels like I want to mope at home. But I dont want to upset her either..

My DH thinks I should just be honest and say that I dont feel great (im still coughing my guts.. dunno how i DONT have a chest infection according to the doctor) and need the time to just relax at home. I dunno.. we will see.

OrcinusOrca · 11/10/2018 09:00

Your workplace won't remember you for having time out a month or two down the line, it's always forgotten about. I had quite a few medical appts the last few months (not just fertility stuff) and everyone has totally forgotten about it. People only notice in the moment when they need you.

Will going out help or do you need a weekend to mope? I love a mope. I get a bit aggy by mid afternoon though so I tend to go out in the morning and do something (even the grocery shop or to get a coffee) and then continue my mope later on. You're entitled to lock yourself away if you want to, don't beat yourself up. Being a yammer is SO hard, there are times I couldn't even come on the thread because I felt so crap I needed to bury my head.

Pinkemi · 11/10/2018 08:54

I feel like a bundle of nerves. One minute im happy and then next im sobbing. Just had a call with my DM and got annoyed because she told me to calm down... so i called my DH to have a moan.. and ended up sobbing down the phone because it felt like he was having a go at me. (In reality he wss just trying to help.)

Im worrying about messing work round too much i think. So hard.

Nothing fun planned for weekend. Meant to go see family on sunday but i just wanna hide from everyone. Sad
