Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Also tried to do a clearblue digital that shows the weeks.. didnt work!! Been sat in my bathroom cupboard for years.. didnt even register that i had peed on it. Grrr.

maddiie · 07/11/2018 08:23

Congrats @Pinkemi !!!! Xx

ImpatientMammy · 06/11/2018 21:49

Congratulations @Pinkemi that's amazing news !!!
Sorry to hear about AF @Chooklass I hope your ok xx

SparkwoodAnd21 · 06/11/2018 21:25

Congratulations Pinkemi!

Chooklass · 06/11/2018 20:33

Same here @ivf2019 - the pill totally hid my pcos symptoms! I kind of see my skin as a reflection of my hormone health now. It's worth reading up on low GI/ low sugar/ insulin resistance diets. Depending on how your current diet is it might be easier to ease yourself in gradually.

I'm so chuffed about @Pinkemi's BFP I've barely thought about AF arriving today!!

Hi ladies, not been commenting on the thread much as I've just got back off holiday and now super busy with work - but I have been reading all your posts and @Pinkemi just wanted to say I've following your story and willing you along since your egg retrieval and so happy to hear about your BFP, congratulations!

ivf2019 · 06/11/2018 19:57

Oh yayyyy congrats Pinkemi! So chuffed for you. All the best for a straightforward and uneventful nine months.

That’s interesting chooklass & looking - I definitely want to get my BMI down before starting any treatment (hopefully summer next year) but also my skin is terrible so sounds like that would help! It went haywire after coming off the pill, settled down for a bit and is now back to hideous again 😩

Chooklass · 06/11/2018 19:53

Eeeeeeee!! I'm so happy for you @Pinkemi!!!

Oh my god @Pinkemi congratulations on your BFP!!

Si1ver · 06/11/2018 19:26

Ha, my husband was very close lipped about my bfp too. He said he knew it was going to work too, but it didn't really seem to sink in until he had four or five tests lined up together. I tested every other day, and when the test line was stronger than the control line he agreed it was definitely happening.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/11/2018 19:14

@Pinkemi. Men can react like that. The night I showed DH my test he had been sleeping on the sofa so I woke him up and said "Look at that line" he said "Its very faint, I'm not convinced" and went back to sleep 😂😂😂

Owlpatrol · 06/11/2018 19:06

Omg omg I actually eeeeekd out loud @Pinkemi congratulations and just the boost this thread needs!! Flowers

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 19:03

My DH isnt as excited as i hoped he would be... he just told me that he always thought it would work! Never ever thought it would go wrong!

He wants me to now stop stressing about everything. Easier said than done! Grin

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/11/2018 18:56

@Chooklass. I can really recommend going sugar free or reduced sugar. I felt great when I was doing it. Sugar, I think causes inflammation too.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 06/11/2018 18:53

@Pinkemi. Ahhhhhh! I have literally been checking the thread for days! (I know I know I'm a stalker!)

Fingers tightly crossed for you and congratulations!

Si1ver · 06/11/2018 18:52

Oh my god @Pinkemi that's brilliant news! I'm so pleased for you.

OrcinusOrca · 06/11/2018 18:50

Congrats @Pinkemi

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 18:46

Oh my god guys.... Its positive!!! Grin the line is a bit lighter then the control line but its definilty there!! My first ever BFP!!!!!!

Chooklass · 06/11/2018 17:44

@Cardi86 my cycle was 24 days this month, but has usually been 26 recently.

@ivf2019 I feel so much better when sticking to a low sugar diet! Skin is much better - that's the biggest difference for me. Periods less sore and sleep better too. But it's really tough! It really does seem to be the best treatment for pcos though. I'm deliberately not trying to lose weight at the moment (my wedding dress fits and I don't want to alter it!!), but last time I stuck to this diet I lost half a stone pretty easily (my BMI is around 25 so I don't have huge amounts to lose).

Si1ver · 06/11/2018 16:52

@Pinkemi my point is these things are all possibilities. At 10dp5dt you shouldn't need fmu to get a clear read, a four hour hold will be enough.

I have absolutely everything crossed for you. Please remember that you're in an excellent position. If this doesn't work, you have two frozen embryos on ice. Three transfers takes your chance of a successful pregnancy to a massive 80%.

I hope your test is positive this evening xx

Cardi86 · 06/11/2018 16:46

@Pinkemi fingers crossed for you everything is ok x
Thanks @Chooklass sorry FP has arrived, how long was your cycle? I think I might have messed up the digital tests- I did the first one yesterday afternoon which was negative, this mornings was a flashing smiley but I’m convinced it’s a false positive because I didn’t use a morning urine as the baseline! V annoyed with myself as they are so expensive!! I guess I’ll have to wait for the peak fertility smiley to make sure

ivf2019 · 06/11/2018 15:52

Oh gosh good luck tonight PinkEmi - will have fingers and toes crossed.
Definitely get the chocolate and ice cream in but let's hope it's for a booze-free celebration rather than comfort!

Chook sorry FP is here. How have you found being low sugar? I could do with dropping a stone (blargh) and definitely have far too much of a sweet tooth..

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 15:49

Just had a response from the nursing team.. and its made me feel worse! haha.

It basically said "I wish I could tell you that everything is okay.. but it might not be so I can't. All i can say is good luck for your test day tomorrow."

I AM SO THIRSTY! I just want to guzzle a load of water! Been sipping very small sips at my water since about 2:30 so I dont have diluted urine for when I get home from work. lol

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 13:42

Just synced my fitbit and my resting heart rate has jumped up from 59 to 62! Must be the stress! haha

Pinkemi · 06/11/2018 13:40

@Si1ver.. but surely these things would have happened a lot sooner than now? like my egg retrieval site being upset..

yeah husband is home tonight and I have told him that I am testing tonight.. I don't care what he says! He's worried about me getting a false negative because my urine will be too diluted (I drink a lot because I get thirsty a lot) and doesn't want me to cry for no reasons. He's also worried that its too early.. but at 10dp5dt... if it had worked... it should show by now!

I'm feeling a little foolish as have just fired off a "freaking out" style email to my IVF clinic.. Blush I'm sure they get it a lot.. but after having weeks of nothing.. seeing bright red on your tissue after going to the loo is AWFUL. I honestly went all shaky and horrible... god knows what I am going to be like later after testing and its a negative. Sad Might get my husband to stock up on chocolate and ice cream.. already have the booze in the house! ha!
